    This is the absolute BEST video for how to make titanium clamps using titanium strips. I loved this video so much, I bought a 10 pack of your strips. I actually like them so much better than wherever I bought my last ones, that have sat on my bench for about a year, still straight, until I came upon this video. Your strips are a bit more narrow and are also nice and clean. Also, if this isn’t on your Facebook or Instagram page, it sure should be. In fact, you could probably repost it every so often and it would help so many jewelers. You, Brian, are now the Titanium Strip Making Clamp God!!! You make it look so easy. I had to watch this a few times in order to figure out “where” to bend the strips to make the shapes. And actually, you guys would probably sell a LOT of these if you sold them bent into simple clamps, similar to the first one you made. I would love to buy, say, a pack of 5 or 10 premade clamps! Just a thought. Thanks so much for this video!!! You guys rock not only at making the best, and my favorite, saws, but also at making titanium clamps. 👊🏼🤟🏼

    Can you show us how to make titanium ear hooks? No one else on You Tube talking about it that I have found. Thanks!

      @KnewConcepts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You mean like French hooks? That's not something we do, but I'd go about it the same as normal French hooks, just done with titanium wire. At that scale, titanium handles about like nickle silver or stainless. You can pick up light gauge Ti wire from www.reactivemetals.com Hope that helps -Brian

      KnewConcepts It does, thank you. I finally found a comment today saying that there is a lot of false information about titanium wire and that it is not as difficult to work with as implied.

    Hey great video! What grade are these titanium strips? Would they work to be apart of a jewelry piece to wear?

    • @brianmeek6196
      @brianmeek6196 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use them for jewelry if you wanted to, they're highly formable, and they will color, so go forth and experiment

    • @KN-ix2xm
      @KN-ix2xm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brianmeek6196 when you say colour do you mean tarnish? Also, would this be a commercially pure titanium grade? If so, what grade would it be?

    • @KnewConcepts
      @KnewConcepts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KN-ix2xm Colour meaning anodize. They won't ever 'tarnish' in any way you'd notice. They're the softest alloy it's possible to get, but exactly what alloy is part of our secret sauce. Sorry. It won't effect anything in terms of how they handwork for jewelry. Go forth and play.

    Hi! Just got my strips and was wondering what the best way to cut the slice from the middle of the "forked" one in the picture that is holding the sphere? I have a mini miter saw and could try that but what works best in your opinion? thanks!!

    • @brianmeek6196
      @brianmeek6196 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI Melissa,
      It works best to cut the slot with a jeweler's saw. (like ours...) Don't use anything with a motor. (Too many of Ti's nasty quirks come in to play at those speeds.)
      You might trash a blade or two, but it'll be quick and easier than anything else you've got around the shop.

    I came to find out how to point them. Jeweler’s saws obviously don’t work.

    • @KnewConcepts
      @KnewConcepts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Greetings. Jewelers saws work just fine for cutting points on them. You'll chew up a blade or two doing it, but it'll work. I point mine with a belt sander. But a bench grinder would work too. In a pinch, a cheap hardware store file will do it too. Just don't use a file you like, because it'll get torn up in the long run. Titanium has some nasty qualities, but it isn't super-metal. You can still deal with it, it just takes a little more work. (And plotting, and scheming, etc...)

      @@KnewConceptsOH, by the way, I bought my strips from you but they have just sat on my soldering table because I couldn’t quite figure out how to to get the clamp, the part where they are tight together at the ends where you want them to be tight. This video is SOOO perfectly clear and explains everything (except maybe what to use to get the tips narrow). Thanks so much!
