I was looking for something to hold work so glad you mentioned that. I had a major surgery in my left hand so it's hard to hold pieces when sawing. Still looking for a clamping device. I did contact Knew Concepts to see if they could come up with a clamping device for this bench pin. We'll see. If not, thinking about using longer screws and gluing a piece of leather under the bar.

Hi Kent! I've been meaning to set up a holder to be able to video when I saw and do things at my bench. Give me a few days and I'll try to set that up and show you my setup. I do so much more sawing now that I have a good saw, that bench pin, and if you look at my newer videos you can see the idea of the Easy Saw clamp with some jigs I made. I forget what the pillars are for. Honestly I took them off. I do remember seeing a video, I believe by Knew Concepts , on what those were for. I don't use that brass bar much either. That was supposed to be able to help with more straight or angled cuts. The big difference with that particular bench pin is the stiffness of it compared to the wooden one I was using. It's thin yet sturdy and I have an easier time holding pieces down while I saw, and keeping the piece from bouncing around. But for lots of sawing and piercing I use the Easy Saw clamp now as I mentioned in my earlier comment. I do most of the work in the clamp with my copper jigs, and finish up on this bench pin. Again I'll try and do a video and hopefully that will help give a better demonstration of what I'm trying to explain 😉
