Im road race/canyon carver guy. I could by a newer boss but I love our body style and its paid off. I'm good 😆.
@@nickhoydilla8879 yeah I did. I had 2 tunes from Bama, but neither cleared them. I then got tuned by Lito and he cleared all the codes and she runs better and has more horsepower. The codes I got were for delayed signal from the o2 sensors back to the ecu. That can be fixed with a good tune.

With forged internals and the right cams and lots of boost you can achieve it pretty easily. It just takes a proper built car to do it reliably and it last!
at the end of the day you’re going to spend close to 10k, i got a 2005 making close to 500whp on a 125 shot and cams headers intake etc. but to make a lot of power with this motor it’s not worth it. it’s better to get a coyote 1 or 2 gen with the trans for close to 10k that’s what i’m thinking of doing with my 05. another thing is the transmission the tr3650 it’s not gonna handle more than 500trq before it breaks.

If you haven't already, the fuel return line in the pump hat assembly needs to return all the way to the bottom of the tank. If the high volume of fuel returning is allowed to return above the fuel level in the tank, it will aerate the fuel and cause a lean out under high power.

I was in the 3 valve game, got out of it (later than I wish I had) and also was a little disappointed with the motor. This guys videos are awesome though and it’s cool to see someone build up a high hp 3 valve
@@ese3v I waited and painted the valve covers while doing it. Entire thing took about 8 hours. Most of that time was waiting for paint to cure. Just to swap cams probably only took 3 hours.
Ive had my 06 since high school and always planned to go LS route once the engine goes.. You may have changed my mind sir. Props on the build its almost too clean haha. Excited to see what's in store next
@@Four_Eyes no doubt about that, just love the sound of the 3v. How many miles do you have on your block? Im at 115k (bought at 22k). So building the motor I have now probably isnt the best decision. Will have to look around and price things out once it goes. LS will definitely be the cheaper route, but require much more fab. Once done though, the LS modification will be much simpler in the long run
I would still like to see someone build a 4.6 normally aspirated with heads and cams that would actually turn 8000 rpm with a 6 speed trans and maybe some 4.88 gears , lightened to about 3000 lb's with some sticky tires . I believe a dead hook would be surprisingly quick .
I bought a 2006 windveil blue gt a year ago and saw your videos back then. I just found you and subbed. She has 144k miles and needs top end and transmission work. I've been back and forth on selling it building it. I think im going to build it and follow a similar path you have took.
not worth getting ported heads, if you're doing it yourself, i would: get forged internals, gt500 dual fuel pump (direct fit), t56, and a procharger. that'll get you to ~700whp on pump gas for about $16k.

My god, it's a thing of beauty. Just got my high mileage but very well maintained 2006 GT Premium from a family friend. It's my first 'Stang since my 95 GT right after college 20 years ago. It's stock with Flowmasters, and for now that's good enough and sweet enough for me.
