I watched the video on Friday, 8th march 24, so I had a go at making the bag, turned out alright. So I had another go on Saturday 9th march, to make sure it was not a fluke. Worked out good, again. So chuffed with myself. So a big thank you from a newbie who has only been machine sewing since may 23. Again thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial. I sized the dimensions down a teense and just finished an adorable little book bag for my 2-1/2 year old granddaughter. It went together perfectly. Your instructions are thorough and well-explained.
Hi Christian. Thank you for for sharing this lovely tote bag, I also thought your children’s bag you shared the other day was brilliant. What I really like about you Christine you always show us your mistakes and how you correct them. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Xx
Just found your channel and I’m so excited to make a book bag for my little girl who’s starting kindy this year! I especially appreciate you breaking down the make cost for us.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I really love the way you teach and the fact that you are so honest about your mistakes. As a beginner you have given me the confidence and I'm excited to start making 😄
another great tutorial, thank you, I so appreciate your spoken thoughts, like having you here for coffee, I appreciate your openess about time and cost etc.....
I have looked at all kinds of TH-cam tutorials on how to box corners and have a hard time doing it. I tried your way and it works just fine. It takes me about 1 minute for all 4 instead of 10 minutes.Very easy your way. Thank you for your great directions on all I have seen of yours.
Hi Christine, I love your videos they are so easy to follow and you make sewing not only easy but fun. Will be watching more of your videos in the future.
I just made this tote bag out of some lovely grey vinyl and machine embroidered a rose with celtic knot leaves on it. Also added in pockets. I'm so excited to carry my knitting and wallet and glasses in this cute bag. Thank you, Christine!
I like them both, they serve different purposes. The wadding is a nice addition to a child's book bag, but if I was taking my latest project out, to work on at coffee, I wouldn't choose it.
Christine,Iove your videos. you are a wonderful teacher and I enjoy the wide variety of sewing projects as I too love sewing and being rewarded for my efforts.
Of course I love the adult bag but the child’s bag is perfect for a child. You are so talented and I have learned so much from you. Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve made several things from your videos I just wished I would know how to post it to your video lol technology doesn’t agree with me very well. I have made pouches and did a twist on it. Instead of putting a label because I don’t have a name at this moment I did an iron on of some sort on the front. I just fell in love with it and my friends wants me to make them one. How ever I just can’t seem to charge them because they are such super sweet friends I have decided to give them as a gift just to say thank you for being in my life and being a great friend to me. I love all of your videos and you have really inspired me to want to do something that I love which is creating something that I could never have done without your help. I appreciate your talented and kindness more than you can even imagine.
Thank you so much Christine. Your friends are going to love your gifts. I'm not sure if people can share their makes via youtube, but you can always email them to me. I can then share them on my community page 😀 stitchthisnagambie@gmail.com
Awesome tutorial. I followed your instructions carefully and my bag came out perfect, I am so grateful for you taking the time to create this content, thanks so much Christine.
Thank you. Very clear instructions. Great end product. I am using old tapestries to make tote bags. I like to add a patch pocket on the lining just for a phone, glasses etc.
I did it! I made a tote using the tutorial for the black bag. It turned out wonderful! I am making my four grandchildren totes to take to the library and bring books home. The only "boo-boo" I made was using directional fabric and forgetting to consider that. But the tote still turned out very cute. The boys won't care that the dinosaurs are upside down. 🤣So sturdy! A great tutorial. Thank you!
That's so wonderful. Thanks for sharing. If using directional fabric, you can cut it in half, flip the other side around the right way. Allow a little extra for seam allowance 😀
Another great project, I prefer the black one as well, but they are both great. If we don't make mistakes, then we don't learn anything new, so lets keep making them, who knows, we could design a master piece. lol Stay safe. 💕😊
My choice is the black one! However, both are beautiful. I will start one tomorrow since your instruction is so easy to understand. I also think that you are a lovely lady🎉 Thank you!
I like the black one best, but I am drawn to the vibrant colors. You already know I think the metal label makes it more "high end". I don't think it goes on the unlined grocery bags, but definitely on this and the tablet bag you made recently. Thank you
I prefer the black print bag with the hand made handles. Using the strapping handle is faster but the hand made looks classic. I love your metal labels.
Like the cotton threads one. I was also wondering whether to use to use fleece or standard interfacing. So now having seen yours I shall be happy with my choice I think.
Thanks Mary. I have a few bags with zippers in my "Sew to sell" playlist that you could check out, including this one here. The same principal applies for most bags, so hopefully this will help. th-cam.com/video/yYeykbrFXqE/w-d-xo.html
I was looking for a way to do a lined bag (I've made many without a lining). This was beautifully explained and I loved the tips along the way. My favourite was definitely the second bag you made - the top of the bag is much neater with those side seams hidden inside 😀. I will be making a library bag for my grandson tomorrow! Thank you for the tutorial.
Love both fabrics. When I make lined bags, I leave the opening in the top either between the handles or on the side over the side seam. I then turn the edges in and once top stitched it is enclosed. You can then use the bag reversible.
Really enjoyed watching both tutorials. Your manner of explaining is on point, makes the entire process look "seamless". Although the first tutorial had the mistake, I preferred that method(probably because I'm very amateur) but your second tutorial end product is where I aspire to be. Again... You make it look soo easy.
Miss Christine, I'm late to the party but I love the black bag it looks amazing. I have saved it and will be making one soon. Thank you for an incredible pattern tutorial.
Nice! If you used heavier fabric like your upholstery stash you used on the market bag, would you still do interfacing? I have some lighter weight upholstery and drape fabric I would use. Love the quick projects.
Betty, If I were using my upholstery fabric, I wouldn't use a stabiliser as I think it's firm enough. I recently did the little tablet bag this way, and it was stable enough without it 😀 If it were draping fabric, I'd probably use a light stabiliser
Always enjoy your videos Christine there easy to follow along without getting all confused. I want to start making bags for my Etsy shop and it’s nice to know how you price things.
Thank you for the tutorial. I like both for different usages. Wondering if you don't recommend stitching the lining to the outer at the boxed corner. It's an extra step, but keeps the lining firmly inside without any looseness
Love the black Bag, made those without interfacing, and use them for Market Shoppers. They are very sturdy and the perfect size for Groceries. Since you make everything so easy to sew, I am wondering if you could give a tutorial about a foldable Market Shopper. Thank you for all your awesome Videos
Thanks Doris. I've done two foldable bags you might like. th-cam.com/video/4wPUYSi2TIA/w-d-xo.html and also look for my Shupatto bag. It's really cool too🙂
Eduarda, I sell mine mostly in my shop. I have a second hand/junk store/sewing & alterations shop all in one 😀. I do also sell online on my website, at some markets, and also some handmade Facebook pages
I think you are a terrific lady, super nice and generous with your knowledge and time…wow..wish you live over here…I liked the bag with black and colorful spools I really can’t tell what they are. Anyhow, lord loved your video and you gave me greats ideas of what totes to sell…thank you so much and God bless you. Oh one last question what’s the brand of your sewing machine…thank you again..you are such a sweet soul hard to find now days..👍👍👍🌼🌼🌺🌺🥵👍👍👍

Again thank you.
That's awesome Denise. Well done, and happy sewing!😀
I just turned out 3 tote bags. Thank you for going before us. Your instructions are so clear.
That's wonderful Jane. Well done😁
Thank you for this tutorial. I sized the dimensions down a teense and just finished an adorable little book bag for my 2-1/2 year old granddaughter. It went together perfectly. Your instructions are thorough and well-explained.
That's wonderful Tanya. Well done😁
Hi Christian. Thank you for for sharing this lovely tote bag, I also thought your children’s bag you shared the other day was brilliant. What I really like about you Christine you always show us your mistakes and how you correct them. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Xx
Thanks Sharon. I make a lot more mistake than you get to see🤣🤣
I like the “mistake” on the previous bag. It allows the bag to be reversible! Best seller on my Etsy shop. Thanks Christina!
You are an excellent teacher. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, thank you Linda 😀
I like them both but definitely the black one is a winner. Thank u for sharing 👌
You're welcome Sonia 😀
Very good tutorial- black bag for sure!
Thank you Patty😁
Just found your channel and I’m so excited to make a book bag for my little girl who’s starting kindy this year! I especially appreciate you breaking down the make cost for us.
This will make a lovely book bag😀
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I really love the way you teach and the fact that you are so honest about your mistakes. As a beginner you have given me the confidence and I'm excited to start making 😄
That's so wonderful Clare. As frustrating as mistakes can be at times, I find I learn more from those than I do when things go right 😀
another great tutorial, thank you, I so appreciate your spoken thoughts, like having you here for coffee, I appreciate your openess about time and cost etc.....
Thanks so much Janet 😀
I have looked at all kinds of TH-cam tutorials on how to box corners and have a hard time doing it. I tried your way and it works just fine. It takes me about 1 minute for all 4 instead of 10 minutes.Very easy your way. Thank you for your great directions on all I have seen of yours.
You are so welcome Cathy. I'm so glad they're working better for you😀
Love the black one. Very classy!!
Yes, I love the fabric Cyn 🙂
Hi Christine, I love your videos they are so easy to follow and you make sewing not only easy but fun. Will be watching more of your videos in the future.
Thanks so much Dianne. I hope you enjoy the rest of the channel😀
Me too!!
Love your style of teaching, nice to speed through seams , thanks for sharing.
You're very welcome jilly😁
I just made this tote bag out of some lovely grey vinyl and machine embroidered a rose with celtic knot leaves on it. Also added in pockets. I'm so excited to carry my knitting and wallet and glasses in this cute bag. Thank you, Christine!
Oh, Gigi, that sounds absolutely beautiful. If you're on Facebook, I'm sure the "Christine's Home Affairs" group would love to see it😀
I like them both but I would buy the black one. Great video!
Thanks Elisa. The black is my favourite too 😀
Great tutorial. Easy instructions. I like the black one better. Thank you.
I love the bag n the pretty material also.
Thanks Lucille😀
I love this design. It's my go-to tote bag. Such a clear tutorial. I added some internal pockets. Turned out really well
That's fabulous Louise. The pockets are a great idea too 😀
I like the bag with the threads on it. 😊
Yeah, it's a very cute fabric Susen 😀
SO easy to follow. I can also see how to enlarge if I like. Especially like the tips for costs and pricing at the end.
Thank you. Definitely easy to modify 😀
Thank you for the great tutorial! I will be making library bags for my little granddaughters!📚
That sounds like a great idea Katie😀
Wonderful tutorial! Love your teaching method. The black “classic” one is my favorite. Looks very professional. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you Karon 😊
Thank you for such a great tutorial!! Your honesty is so refreshing!! 💕
Thanks Katenia ☺️
I like the bag you did today. It does look classy. Thank you for the informative video.
Thanks carol 😀
Thank you very much for the tutorial. I love the way you explain things. 💕👏🏻
Thanks Malu ☺️
I like them both, they serve different purposes. The wadding is a nice addition to a child's book bag, but if I was taking my latest project out, to work on at coffee, I wouldn't choose it.
I totally agree!😀
I like both but I do agree the black one looks more professional. The kids one is cute 😊
I'm certainly more fond of the black one. I think I like the vibrant colours in it 😀
Great Job! I like the second one!!
Me too Daphne 😀
Christine,Iove your videos. you are a wonderful teacher and I enjoy the wide variety of sewing projects as I too love sewing and being rewarded for my efforts.
Thank you Anna 😀
i really enjoy your videos youre a great teacher with clear
instructions thank you from hawaii im going to look in my fabric stash to make one
That's wonderful! I'm looking across at mine, and really want to make some more 😀
I love the cotton reels fabric and the finished bag sits better too. Thanks once again for your time and talk through.
You're very welcome Jess 😀

Hi Christine firstly thank you ,you have inspired me but i wanted to tell you I like the retro fabric more an i would pay full price for that one
Thanks for sharing De 😀
Awesome tutorial. I followed your instructions carefully and my bag came out perfect, I am so grateful for you taking the time to create this content, thanks so much Christine.
That's wonderful Claire. I'm so pleased it worked out for you 😃
Thank you. Very clear instructions. Great end product. I am using old tapestries to make tote bags. I like to add a patch pocket on the lining just for a phone, glasses etc.
I've been waiting for the perfect tapestry to make a bag too😊
I like how you decide, where your handles go.
Liz, when I'm unsure, I'll usually lay them out to see where they might look the best😀
Hi love the fabric with threads. will deff be making that one.
Such an easy one to sew too Avril 😀
Love your videos so easy to follow
Thanks Ramona 😀
Thank you for sharing your sewing secrets😊😍
You're welcome Aileen 😊
I like the black one and I am going to make one!
I like it too Gale. Happy sewing!! 😀

I made one and I love it.
I just wish I knew how to attach a photo to show you. I'm pretty chuffed with myself 😊
Both are nice. I do like the black one better. A job well done!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I prefer the black one too😀
This is the nicest tote bag I have seen. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
Thank you so much Annie 😀

You're right PUG. I love to make (minor) mistakes. It's been a great way for me to learn throughout life. 😁😁
My choice is the black one! However, both are beautiful. I will start one tomorrow since your instruction is so easy to understand. I also think that you are a lovely lady🎉 Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing Christine,I love your videos, you are a fantastic teacher!🌹💐
Thank you so much Tina!
Lovely fabrics Christine. Fishes for the kids, cotton reels for the adults :)
Thanks Lesley 😀

I agree Michelle. Handmade is so much more classy for these bags 😀
Like the black bag. Great video.
Thanks Brenda 😀
Loved the black & old gold bag with handles from same material. Great tutorial.
Thanks Betty 😀
I love your videos and your recommendation of prices to sell for are very helpful
Thank you Julie😀
Nice. A small pocket inside would be nice for a cell phone, pen, or other small items needed. I like the black bag the best.
Thanks Arvetta. I'll be putting pockets in another soon 😀
thanks for the videos. love them all so far. very informative.
Thank you Sandy 😀
Really great. Very thorough and easy to understand. I am going to try making some. I like the labels, too.
Awesome! Thank you!
Love them both🤩
Thanks Melissa 🌞
Love this bag! And love your gun metal tag❤ Ill be trying these Thank You. I like both bags.
Thanks Judy. I should use those tags more often 🤔
Like the cotton threads one. I was also wondering whether to use to use fleece or standard interfacing. So now having seen yours I shall be happy with my choice I think.
Do you have a tutorial for a bag with a zipper? Love how you explain exactly how you measure and put logic into everything.
Thanks Mary. I have a few bags with zippers in my "Sew to sell" playlist that you could check out, including this one here. The same principal applies for most bags, so hopefully this will help. th-cam.com/video/yYeykbrFXqE/w-d-xo.html
Hello Christine, love your video and I really like the black one. I will be making it soon.
Thank you.
Thanks Janice. Happy sewing!😁

Thanks PJ. I love the fabric in this one😊
I like them both

Thanks for helping me make my first bag 😊
You’re very welcome Alison😊
Great video! Thanks for teaching us 🥰
You are so welcome Clare😀

Thank you Janet😁
I like the cotton one, will give this ago, so thank you for the video.
Happy sewing Denise😀
Very nice I like what u do and u give me good ideas thank u
Thanks Mark 😀
Prefer the black bag, the material looks good, especially with your metal tag.
Thanks Julie. I really should use them on more of my products 😀
I love your tutorials!
Thank you so much!
Love both fabrics. When I make lined bags, I leave the opening in the top either between the handles or on the side over the side seam. I then turn the edges in and once top stitched it is enclosed. You can then use the bag reversible.
Thank you. I think I vary the opening from one project to the next 😁
Awesome 🧵✅
This is the best bag tutorial I have seen. I learned so much from this video and feel confident that I will be able to make this. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome Helen ☺️
Thankyou for this great lesson.
Look forward to seeing more 🙂
Thank you Joan. Hope you enjoy the rest😀
I like them both 😀 Thanks for the tutorial
You’re welcome Jenny😊
Very nice! Will make lots of these. Thank you.
Happy sewing 😊
I like the one with the cotton threads as well but would love to have seen some pockets on it.
Thanks Linda. Pockets would have been a great addition😁
I like the black one..
Thanks Edie😃
Really enjoyed watching both tutorials. Your manner of explaining is on point, makes the entire process look "seamless". Although the first tutorial had the mistake, I preferred that method(probably because I'm very amateur) but your second tutorial end product is where I aspire to be. Again... Awesome, thank you Fatima 😀
Miss Christine, I'm late to the party but I love the black bag it looks amazing. I have saved it and will be making one soon. Thank you for an incredible pattern tutorial.
It's my pleasure Valerie. Welcome to the party!😁
Black bag gets my vote.
Thanks Pat. I like this one too 😄

Thanks Julie. Good luck with them in your shop 😀
Love your tutorials thank you, also I love your pin cushion. Keep up the good work.x❤
Thanks so much Carol😊
Thank you for the tutorial. I like both for different usages. Wondering if you don't recommend stitching the lining to the outer at the boxed corner. It's an extra step, but keeps the lining firmly inside without any looseness
I have thought about this a few times Kay. I might do a comparison as to how they look, and the time they take 😃
Superb mam
Thank you Gauri 😃
I love the black one. But the fish one would look cute as a child's bag
It's my pick too April🙂
I like the crisp edges bag. I also like the fabric handles. The plain black is boring to me.
I agree Lucy. With such vibrant fabric, the plain handles would detract from the look of the gab😀
It's really cool too🙂
@Christine's Home Affairs thanks a bunch, love it, gonna try to make one in a couple of days
love what you do where and how to sell i need some ideas please

I think you are a terrific lady, super nice and generous with your knowledge and time…wow..wish you live over here…I liked the bag with black and colorful spools I really can’t tell what they are. Oh one last question what’s the brand of your sewing machine…thank you again..you are such a sweet soul hard to find now days..👍👍👍🌼🌼🌺🌺🥵👍👍👍
Thank you Luisa. My machine is a Jack A5E industrial machine. The colourful spools, are cotton reels 😀
I prefer the darker bag. Do you ever add pickets to the bags inside or out?
Yes, I thought about the pockets after I'd finished this bag. A magnetic snap would be good too. Another video perhaps 😀
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure Sandra 😀
Another great tutorial. I love both 💐
Thanks so much Dianne😊
Love this!! Thank youxxx
You are so welcome kay. Thank you 😊
