Hi Angela, just made one of these today and I am *so* proud of myself! I’ve only been trying to teach myself to sew for a few months now (despite being nearly 70) and your fantastic videos have given me so much confidence to ‘have a go’. Your clear, concise instructions and beautifully demonstrated techniques are the best I’ve found anywhere on the net. I am so pleased with my bag that I shall give it to my best friend for Christmas. Thank you so much, please keep these great videos coming and keep teaching me a new skill! 😊
Thanks so much for your videos. This is the second project I'm making on my sewing machine, both times I used your videos and I love your clear way of explaining things and the way the products look fancy and pretty without a lot of effort!
Once again, another fantastic video. I know what I'm going to be sewing today. Thanks so much for all you video's. With your Hannah pattern, I made both the big and smaller pouches. I love them so handy to take on vacation with me. You're the best! God bless you!
Thank you that’s so nice to hear. Hope you give it a try. I will have more projects soon. Please have a look on my channel for more of my designs. Most are easy DIY projects.
I made this for my daughter with school themed fabric-s-, she is teaching. She used it on a vacation trip for shopping in the local grocery. I should say I made it a bit bigger than this one, also straps were bigger. I winged it. Math is not my thing, but it came out ok. Now I am making one for me. Not sure yet which fabric, I have a choice of 5-6 of them that are the right size. I once bought 6 -->>1 yard pieces at a store on sale, for $1.00 a yard, (score ! ) and have yet to use them-- It was not hard to make, I am no expert sewer. The sew it straight stuff made it easy, just follow her directions. I had to stop the video 10 times to be sure of what I was doing. The directions are excellent, easy, clear.
Watching you sew definitely inspires motivation. This tote bag looks really nice and handy for multiple uses. Thanks again for another great video. Oh, and I do like the small presser foot with the guide. So handy to get in close and stay straight. Now I have to look online and see what other feet are available for my sewing machine.
Wonderful tutorial, thanks so much. Do you have a tutorial just like this one that includes a zipper at the top, but not the gusset type, not with that zipper flap thing that hangs out. Does this make sense?
Would you have a link available for a similar edge guide presser foot that is universal? I have a brother machine. Also, for that final top stitch, would this be a good time to use a twin needle?
I am not sure if there is a domestic type edge guide foot that is ¹⁄₁₆” . I just know of the standard ¼ guides. Yes you can use a twin needle for the topstitch but probably just as fast to go around twice instead of changing needles and thread. Thanks for watching😊

Hi Angela have you done a zippered tote bag video? Love this one but would be good to have a zip! Love that handy tip for sewing round the corners😊👍
Not yet, Thanks for the suggestion 😊
Wonderful tutorial, thanks so much. Do you have a tutorial just like this one that includes a zipper at the top, but not the gusset type, not with that zipper flap thing that hangs out. Does this make sense?
Yes I have
This is great! If you wanted the straps to also be reversible, how would you go about it?
You'll have to cut straps as 2 pieces and join at sides
Thank you 🙏 I have the same sewing machine. Where do you get the 1/16” guide foot?
You can find the link for them down in my description of the video. Tap more under the title.😊

@@NotchesSewing thanks for clarifying. I never used the twin needle so was wondering lol I can't wait to try to make this bag.
