    If you are inserting a callout to reference a dwg that is outside of Revit, it will not plot the callout. To solve this, make a new sheet and place the view that is made from the callout on it. The callout will now plot. I used this work around when I was using CAD for my details.

    I really like your tone and explanations, better than any other presenter on youtube. The reason I came to this video is because I needed to reverse the steps: my architect sent me a file/page of callouts and I can't find where he took the callout from. I checked the sections, elevations, and floorplans...where the heck did he take those callouts on the model. Being a small firm, we don't share linked files so now I need to copy his details into my file but I'm not sure where on the building he called out. Any reverse-call advice? Thanks so much great video will share with my friends.

      If you go to the project browser and know the category of the view, you can right click the view to "find referring" view. You can also just right click the PB and do a search for the name of the view.

      @@DzanTa Thanks. I'm actually starting a new position and will be the only Revit user for a small residential drafting firm. I want to recommend we get a consultant to review the transition from CAD to Revit. You will be the first one I reach out to. If you'd be willing.

    Dzan TA, what is the best way to import existing dwg details into revit and reference them to callouts with in a Revit Project? Thanks! Brian

      +Brian M. Adams Steps:1. Create Drafting View for each DWG detail you want to import2. Check your DWG import settings within Revit before importing the DWG data3. Import the DWG detail one at a time into each drafting view4. Adjust the content for each drafting view as desired5. Create Callout Annotation that links to each drafting view6. Place drafting views on sheets

      Thank You so much Dzan Ta!!!! You are awesome! That's what I was thinking too but havn't tried it yet. I just started drafting for a structural engineering firm here in Dayton Ohio. They are ready to integrate Revit into the office and were really worried about having to redo all their details. :) Thank you!!!!

      To detail an area in higher quality if the original view and scale is not enough

    Hi
    Why elevations showing as
    sections

    • @DzanTa
      @DzanTa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elevations and sections are similar. Difference is location of cut plane and where u stand and how far you look.
