Hm, I don't know if I would date him, but I would listen to him talking about Barcelona & Spain ,because I miss those places, too. I would also listen about interesting missions like the one on Romulus, with "the Cleaner". A, and I would like to know how he escaped Mary Ann the Salt vampire. 😁 If you have patience to get past the gym storries (I'm not interested in those, but Mariner may be, she is a gym freak, too, lol), and know how to ask him (I'm good at that at my work), he could tell interesting stories from missions or the Academy. Heck, I also want to know about the Moon colony he is from, sounds interesting.
I am highly convinced that Ranson was similar if not same as Boimler when he was an ensign. The biggest deference is that he found work-out as his way to deal with constant insecurity. But overall, he is fine First Officer.
Lool. Well, she did promise him to "dance in his blood " in their sickbay fight in season 1. A few episodes later, Mariner bragged laughing to visiting cpt Ramsey that she had put a scorpion in Ransom's bed and that he nearly died. She went out of her way to upset him since day 1 and the most he did was send her to the brig or give her nasty jobs, when he could have sent her to Starbase 80 or kicked her out of Starfleet for that kind of transgretions. He is either too forgiving or he has feelings for her, but represses them because he knows she would use them against him.
Well, compared to the bosses I had (both male and female), he seems a good guy, as long as you respect the ship/Starfleet rules. He helps Boimler and other misfits ( the "Moon" buddies) and rushes to save Mariner, despite her going out of her way to upset him, from day 1. Nobody ever rushed to save me, even though I was nice to almost everybody. Oh well, I'm not in Starfleet 😊. I wouldn't worship him, but I wouldn't upset him, either.
I would really really love to find out that he was the younger brother of the ransom that was in charge of the Equinox or maybe a younger cousin who looked up to his Captain family member
Lol, late 24 century medicine will cure him. If he survived becoming "god-like" (Gary Mitchell and the woman officer who got transformed along Gary didn't survive), he'll be fine, dr.T'Ana will see to that. It's lucky Mariner wasn't hit with strange energies and didn't become "goddess like" ,because with her issues, she would have been more terrifying than Ransom ,some kind of goddess Kali the Avenger type or goddess Nemesis of Olympus. Vindicta would have seemed a reasonable woman compared to goddess Beckett, lol.
I wouldn't be surprised ! It's been forshadowed ever since that crystal planet in early season 1. Last time we see them, she had literally climbed on him, with a look of vengence on her face, lol, while he was desperately asking the powers above "why is this happening to me?!" 😁 He had enough strength to get her off him, but didn't, because he subconsciously wants her touching him. Now that he can't punish her with Starbase 80 or the brig anymore, he will have to get creative... maybe a match of ambo-jitsu or to force her to listen to his songs about Barcelona 😆😄...
@@rabd3721 I know, thats why i am saying Ransom would be a better match. So often in these types of shows it's the main male and female leads that are paired romantically. Boimler and Mariner just do give off that vibe.
I don’t think so. She tries to put on a “I hate starfleet” persona but there have been multiple times when she’s shown she does love it and would do anything to protect it. Everything she does isn’t that bad all things considered.

I think that is exactly what they are trying for, so I guess it is a very successful character implementation.

I think he has room to be both. If this show does anything well it's getting a lot of mileage out of a little screentime.
