In TOS, he was the captain. In TNG, he was the understudy. Here, he is parody. Ladies and gentlebeings, I give you the "Cowboy".

It would have been very easy to make Ransom a natural enemy to the Lower Deckers, like really cowardly and up his own ass, a critique of classic bad bosses. But this show is always so aware that its characters are part of Starfleet, which only takes the best and brightest people. Ransom is still a great officer, and genuinely cares about his crew.

The editing here is atrocious. I got a headache watching this. I give this a 'E' for effort.

I like that the beginning of the second version is her comforting the poor elk part of the nowhere king who was jailed and tortured for so many years and then the rest of it is her disappointed and scolding the human part of him that caused all the suffering in the first place.

You think after the Ransom-God incident, those aliens have placed a contingency plan in case someone becomes a god again? Dismantle the devices, yes, but I'd like to imagine they formed an anti-god division. SOP for someone turning into an god. 1) DO NOT expose globes to sunlight. 2) Should someone turn into a god, activate the GNK division (the God nuts kicking). All their fighting is focused on all forms of nut kicking, tapping, etc. I'm just imagining drills where cadets learn to kick dummies in the nuts, one fly kicking, another learning the Johnny Cage maneuver. 3) focus all attacks on the nuts. Attack until the god host is on the ground. Repeat. 4) bring the boulder.
