@@parsleyisthicc It's probably because of the mediocre representation of him in mainstream media like the Snyder movies. I didn't have any fondness for the guy and in fact, I "hated" him despite not taking the time to get to know him at all. I guess it's because it's apparently fun for people like everyone at my school to hate on him. It's been only a few months since I actually got into comics and graphic novels but he's already turning out to be one of my favorites. He really does live up to his name.
@@mb3318 I’m kind of new as well, what have you read so far? I was interested in his rebirth Omni but I keep thinking how will the story be fun if he can one shot everyone, but I really liked green lantern corps and it’s the same artist and writer for a few issues so I was thinking about getting it when I eventually get to rebirth.
Awesome reading order, as always, Omar. Just when I thought I had all the books this time, Bam! You drop a Majestic trade I've never even heard of to now leave my run feeling empty. Time to get hunting!
This is a really great reading order series considering that DC has neglected updated collections of Superman with most of it just scattered across old trades. I think more reading orders for series that haven’t gotten the right kind of collected edition love would be great!
16:33 I think it was nice, but nothing memorable. I liked the idea that Lois Lane is in love with Superman and not so much of Clark Kent, I think that was something that was implicit for many years and they finally said it out loud. Great videos Omar!!!!
That Greg Rucka run with Ruin is really good, I picked up the trades not too long ago but a nice ohc would be cool. DC not only needs to collect more Superman in omnis they just plain need to collect more Rucka in omnibus format, criminal that his post-No Man's Land Batman run isn't in an omni, same for Brubaker.
I’ve heard it’s the editors working on the their respective books in charge of their characters collected editions. At this point I’m not sure, but not surprised it’s just one person.
I'm hold out for a DK Metal omnibus before I read it. Any hint from DC or support in the community for this?? Also Immortal Hulk. I don't want to waste money in trades when hoping for omnis.
Man, watching your videos is starting to depress me, reminding me of Michael Turner and Mike Weringo and George Perez and Len Wein and Dwayne McDuffie is etc.
There is a hardcover version, I have it, but it's tpb size. It's still really good though, the cover under the dust jacket is all white with 'Birthright' written across the front and back in Kryptonian. I didn't know a deluxe edition is coming this year though, instant buy for me.
I just read it and it is one of the most frustrating stories I've read in a long while. Characters constantly talk in that vague way where they know more than they are revealing to the reader, and not at all in a good way. As the book goes on, characters actions make less and less sense and this is definitely a book you would only want for the Jim Lee art. I personally would say avoid, it just annoyed me more than anything.
It’s embarrassing how few Superman omnis have been released by DC.
Agreed, Superman is my guy so it sucks when he doesn't get his stories collected.

@@mb3318 Snyder was only doing his job as a director, blame WB for hiring him in the first place.

I'm new into collecting comics and these videos definitely help.
Yeah DC come on we really need more Superman stuff collected
DC never listen :(
DC needs more Superman omnibuses

I really, really, really need the next reading order. Lol. I stopped in 2007 and need to fill the gaps from then till 2 months ago! Lol.
Thank you for doing these Superman Reading orders 👌🏾
Always love watching your videos Omar. The lack of collected editions for superman really angers me!!!
Superman birthright is getting a deluxe in December as I use your videos omar and put all the missing books in my amazon cart so i don't forget lol
I think Superman and Wonder Woman are the DC characters with the fewest omnibuses out there.
Nah Blue beetle for sure lol

DC really needs to make more Superman Omnis (or maybe even compendiums)

8:12 it’s only gotten worse 😭😭😭😭
when i first got into comics last year i thougt i had to read everything in time line order but now i just read them in run order
That’s a great idea
Hi Omar, I’m loving this reading order. Do we read sups/bats vol 2 omni after vol 1? Thank you so much for doing this my brother 😊
Awesome video!
Hey Omar. Trust someone mentioned to me that DC has only one employee that takes care of their collected editions. Would you know if this is true?
I’ve heard it’s the editors working on the their respective books in charge of their characters collected editions. At this point I’m not sure, but not surprised it’s just one person.
@@NearMintCondition that’s a shame. Sounds like they’re overworking these editors then.
I knew of the godfall suit from justice league heroes. Thought it was a bigger story

First moon Knight reading order pls after Superman reading order finishes please
Hmmm, I guess the Unreadable Squirrel Girl reading order is next for Omar.....
I put a poll on our Patreon and let them decide between some series.
Omar might be a silly question but I’ve got the absolute superman Batman vol 1 and 2 is it worth me to pick up the omnibus as well 😊😊
Lol it has more stories in it. Past Loeb’s run.
@@NearMintCondition 😊😊 might pick them up then 😂

Legends never die!
can you do a reading order for the golden age supes stuff?
That should be easy shouldn't it. There are omnibus volumes for the golden age.
@@supermankelly maybe also include the IDW Newspaper stripes
Superman birthright doesn’t have some kind of hardcover yet? Seems crazy.
It will be released in Deluxe later this year.

Have you done Superman Golden Age Omnibus 1 to 7
I did volume 2 but that was it.
For anyone... Is Superman For Tomorrow worth a pickup? I see it all the time at my LCS in deluxe.
It’s one of those ones that gets more herald for its art then it’s story. But you may like it
