Andddd Action #1000 is where I jump off. Thank you SO much for these, Omar. Hoping that Supes gets better treatment both in terms of writing in the near future and more collected editions from DC that fill in gaps.
Omnie. First thing I got to do this morning was look over the written reading order on the patreon. This is a treat. When I first started collecting I had to scour Reddit's and websites like crushing krisis and the like for reading orders that comprehensive. Good work.
[spoilers] Hope we get a Road to Rebirth omnibus someday, just collecting alot of that Death of N52 Superman sort of stuff. I'd love to see the story that lead up to the Tomasi run. That and Superman/Wonder Woman, since Tomasi did some of those issues at the end there. But still great, overview Omar, I love how comprehensive these always are. 😁
Now that the Warworld arc ended this week, I really hope it gets a deluxe edition!! It probably won't, given how little DC has pushed that book...but a guy can dream
Thank you so much for doing these reading orders. Helps me know what gaps I need to fill and it makes things so much easier to organize, especially when DC restarts the numbering for the trades, just to make things extra confusing.
Nice overview! I've already read the Super Sons Expanded omni and have the Tomasi/Gleason Superman omnibus, which I should crack open soon. Going to have to pick up that Batman & Robin omni once it is available.
So good to end this reading order with the son of Superman! A few weeks ago I read Superman & Lois and I enjoyed it! Thank you very much Omar for your work and for including the Super Sons run in this video!! :D
After Dan Jurgens and Patrick Gleason run, its garbage. That was the end point of my collection. Now only missing is Death of Superman Omnibus, Our World's at War and few issues after Superman Blue. That will be it for my post crisis Superman collection.
I love Superman rebirth it’s such a awesome series especially as a huge fan of the Superman family with my boy Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self going on fun adventures with his family.
Justice League Rebirth has some great Superman stories. I know the series wasn’t received well but I really loved it. It got quite personal with the characters, which is some of my favourite type of storytelling. I don’t know, maybe if you give it a second read you’ll find it as enjoyable as I did. But I really loved it. Some of my favorite Rebirth stories.
Although, "The Final Days of Superman" is recapped in the Superman omnibus. Couldn't that story on its own still be added between, "Superman: Lios & Clark" and "Rebirth?" EDIT: Superman: Lios & Clark was addressed in part. 5 my apologies Good luck with getting DC to turn Dan Jurgens Rebirth AC into an omnibus. We can't even get John Byrnes MOS sorted out.
I have Bendis Superman on my tbr pile. What do you guys honestly think. People seem to generally hate on this run. I really enjoy him as a writer but can be a bit hit or miss
I usually like Bendis so for the most part I enjoyed it, but like a lot of people I don't like that he aged Jon. On the flip side, I really dug his Young Justice run, thought those were great.
Just binged through it last week and as you probably already read it, I'm leaving my two cents for the comments section. The Man of Steel mini was pretty forgettable, as was the whole Superman title, a lot of bad ideas and empty executions. Now what Omar called the Leviathan trilogy (Rise/Event/Hunt), that was the good stuff, the peak of the whole run. I used to love Bendis but looking back at his overall DC run, it was pretty bad. What did you think of it?
Probably because that book takes place in “future state” continuity, regardless if it foreshadows the current Action Comics run, as it is “present” continuity.
The Jor-El taking Jon away then Jon coming back as a teen reminded me of Connor being kidnapped by Holtz to a Quor'Toth and Connor coming back, aged up in the later episodes of Angel S3.
Shame IDW cancelled Vol. 6 of Transformers UK. Time Wars was so good. Probably Simon Furman’s best story. If you are interested in the Dr Who story featuring Death’s Head it is collected in the Death’s Head TPB.
I really hate being negative, but this proves that I made the right decision to drop Superman during Bendis’ run. What the hell are they thinking? I’ve been a die hard Superman reader since 1992, but it broke my heart to end it.
im liking the new philip kennedy johnson stuff. I think dc made it a little long so jon kent could stay superman of earth but still a fun arc all things around
DC is all over the place with their spines, it would drive me nuts. I have my gripes with Marvel but having the big red logo on the top of the spine makes them instantly recognizable
I really enjoy whenever you drop these complete reading orders. And great whenever Supes gets his dues 👏👏👏

Thank you so much Riv, I really hope it helps.

The biggest crime is that Action Comics by Johnson wasn’t given the hardcover treatment. Anybody else feel that way?
Agreed sir.
It still could be couldn’t it?
Now that the Warworld arc ended this week, I really hope it gets a deluxe edition!! It probably won't, given how little DC has pushed that book...but a guy can dream
In a perfect world it would get a deluxe or omni now the saga has wrapped I believe
Is it crucial do read Superman the one who fell before start world war saga?

Thank you for these videos, now I have a clearer picture of Superman's publishing history. Nice work!
I love Superman rebirth it’s such a awesome series especially as a huge fan of the Superman family with my boy Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self going on fun adventures with his family.
I hope we get some hardcovers for the current action comics run

You rock. Thank you 😃
Thank you so much for doing this. 👍👍👍
Job well-done, Good Sir! Thank you!

27:44 Lol he said “jung yustice”
Man, I was hoping no one caught that. :)
Just thinking today I wonder when we will get the last part. You've must've heard my thoughts ha ha.
What will be the next reading order please?
I hope you do Avengers next!!
Or Spider-Man🙂
I have Bendis Superman on my tbr pile. What do you guys honestly think. People seem to generally hate on this run. I really enjoy him as a writer but can be a bit hit or miss
It's pretty bad.
The run is fine, but Bendis does the thing where he just makes up everything he needs and doesn't really use established Superman mythos.
I usually like Bendis so for the most part I enjoyed it, but like a lot of people I don't like that he aged Jon. On the flip side, I really dug his Young Justice run, thought those were great.

lmao the leviathan trilogy was absolutely the worst part of it. the villain? Oh my god what a terrible writing.
I enjoyed your Superman reading order, Omar! 👍
Why didn't you add Superman & The Authority ? This limit is important for understanding Keneddy Johnson's Action Comic vol 2
I was about to say the same thing. It goes right into "Warworld Rising" - like immediately after.
Probably because that book takes place in “future state” continuity, regardless if it foreshadows the current Action Comics run, as it is “present” continuity.
Honestly I hadn’t read it yet. But thank you. Added it to the reading order doc.
You're welcome.
YEAAAA BAYBEEE
First Supersons Superman 10 rebirth. Finally purchased it to compete my Dan Jurgens and Tomassi Superman Rebirth Run. The Best run of Superman ever.
Yes. Better than John Byrne with gangbuster era.
Yay
A Star Wars reading order would be great
The Jor-El taking Jon away then Jon coming back as a teen reminded me of Connor being kidnapped by Holtz to a Quor'Toth and Connor coming back, aged up in the later episodes of Angel S3.
CAN YOU DO A VIDEO OF ALL THE DC UNIVERSE REBIRTH IN READING ORDER
I love this but I couldn’t help but notice that there isn’t an Avengers reading order. Is there a way to vote on that?
Where would Doomsday clock fit in here? I know it's an event but just curious.
Omar, Whats your opinion on Bendis run? (Action or Superman or both)
……. Nuff said.
@@NearMintCondition damn
Are those doomsday clock hardcovers in the slipcase oversized? 🤔
Hey can please do a reading order on joker please near mint condition make it happen please.
I hate bendis Superman it ruined everything with the Superman family.
Shame IDW cancelled Vol. 6 of Transformers UK. Time Wars was so good. Probably Simon Furman’s best story. If you are interested in the Dr Who story featuring Death’s Head it is collected in the Death’s Head TPB.
Where should I read Superman and the authority?
I really hate being negative, but this proves that I made the right decision to drop Superman during Bendis’ run.
What the hell are they thinking?
I’ve been a die hard Superman reader since 1992, but it broke my heart to end it.
I have no interest in reading superman but I just enjoy watching your videos
Thank you for the kind words.
@@NearMintCondition thank you for the amazing content.
27:45 Omar said Jung Yustice and didn't say he'd talk pretty one day. I want a refund 😜
im liking the new philip kennedy johnson stuff. I think dc made it a little long so jon kent could stay superman of earth but still a fun arc all things around
Can you pls do a wonder woman and iron man reading order😁
A lot of TPBs and HCs are titled "The Truth" LOL. A lot of truths for Supes.
Final crisis?
Can someone write the order of the video (without spoilers) by the trade paperback?
It’s on our Patreon.
@@NearMintCondition it costs money
And I don't have any more money for comics and for that I'm only 12 years old
you should update the superman reading order
I’ll probably update spider-man first
DC is all over the place with their spines, it would drive me nuts. I have my gripes with Marvel but having the big red logo on the top of the spine makes them instantly recognizable
Bendis ruined Jon Kent 😒
Bendis, just awful. I haven't read Superman since.
