Just as an alternative view, I would highly suggest including Superman/Wonder Woman, Batman/Superman, Lois & Clark, and the Savage Dawn crossover. They give greater context to this era of the character.
I personally loved Morrison's Action Comics, Johns/JRJR's Superman and Pak's Action Comics. Those were the highlights of this era for me. I want the Morrison Omnibus and wish DC would make a Pak Action Comics Omnibus. Kuder's artwork on the Pak run is so badass and made me a fan of his. We need an Omnibus of his!
I never realized how much from this run of Superman I own. I've never been a huge Superman follower, but this video made me realize I've picked up both Omnis (and have Vol. 2 of the JL N52 omni on pre-order) in recent months and I grabbed probably half the trades together at one point in time over the last 3 or 4 years and they're all sitting in "the pile" waiting to be read.
I'm curious why you didn't replace your Superman Morrison Omnibus with the corrected version? DC had a program last year to replace them due to all the errors in the original print (missing word balloons, Mispellings and uncredited creators, and they reordered it in the corrected version as well). For those wondering to tell the difference: corrected print has a different ISBN, Superman title is in white on front cover , and Sholly Fisch is credited on the cover.
@@SolidK9 If you haven't read Grant Morrison's big DC stuff like Batman, JLA or All Star Superman I'd say give those a go before trying this omnibus. It's not on the same level as those. The Batman Omni's are a great set if you are looking for affordable omnibus

But this is DC lol
It's would be nice having the savage dawn and final days of superman collections but its ashame they dont contain Superman #45-47 because to complete the collection you would have to double up with the return to glory collection
They should combine those trades in omnie format, i mean, i stayed clear of any of the NEW52 trash when it came out. because it didn't sit with me. but, if there is one way for me to bak track to those stories, is for DC to make them in ombibus format, otherwise i'm fine with not reading them.

Great Superman Reading Order Part 5 Omar !!! I did not sadly liked too much from the New 52 except for the end of the run of Superman plus Justice League. Was not a fan of Action Comics but really did liked Superman: Unchained by Scott Snyder and Jim Lee. This era of Superman was a mix bag for me until Superman: Lois and Clark came out where we got the return of the Post Crisis / Pre New 52 Superman.
Just a quick correction. My Superman Unchained was the same size as an Omnibus or Deluxe Edition, it just didn't say it on the cover. I purchased it at Ollies after the fact, and eventually traded it in.
I personally think New 52 Justice League is almost inconsequential for Superman, since Geoff Johns just didn't know what to do with him and always looked for ways to get him out of the way, either being poisoned, sent to Apokolips (twice), etc. I really like that run, but Superman wasn't handled well.

I'm confused with Justice League Omnibus. You say it doesn't have issue #23, which matches the solitications, but vol. 2 start at #24. Supposedly #23 is the end of Trinity War. In the video specific to Vol.1 you say the same. How is it?
@@rap3208 no here's the thing I tried the new 52 I really did and guess what it was all horrible teen titans and superboy got the worst treatment in the new 52 so did superman sadly at least in my opinion.
@@TevyaSmolka new 52 is pretty solid in my opinion, I feel like people who dismiss the whole new 52 era didn't read much of it. Suicide squad, animal man, swamp thing, justice league dark, I...vampire, Frankenstein agent of shade. All these are some of my favorites. I mean even wonder woman by azzarello was amazing.
@@brandon17760 fair enough and you're not entirely wrong about that especially with those books however the teen titans superboy superman and action comics were most of the worst things that happened in the new 52 and all 4 of those books never recovered until rebirth and plus supergirl got cancelled as well during the new 52 but that's just my opinion. :)
@@TevyaSmolka I never read Supergirl, I do understand teen titans for sure, but I liked most of new 52, Nightwing was solid too. I stayed away from superboy because it wasn't the Connor Kent I knew. So while the Superman side was rocky, I think most of it was decent.
It does say Deluxe Edition on your copy of Superman Unchained. I own it as well and it's an OHC.

I was quite shocked to find out that bearded guy in the last volume turns out to be Alf.

I never was a fan of new 52 superman because I find that entire run to be a complete and utter mess at least in my opinion.
You're probably just resistant to the idea of the New 52 and didn't allow yourself to enjoy the New 52 comics.
