Good timing with the weather, it’s back to 40-60 mph sustained winds atop Mount Washington again. You hit a 2 week window of easily survivable conditions.
Wow, you are doing some amazing hiking and mountaineering here. I’m impressed by how much of it you capture, and how well you create a narrative and a story, using only your iPhone. Girl, you ROCK!
The lake on the way to the summit is named Lake of the Clouds. The hut is named after the lake. One local nickname for Mt. Washington is THE Rock Pile, but that could be applied to several others, especially Madison. You're doing a great job through some of the most challenging terrain. No one is giving out style points so not pretty, slow and steady is just fine. Peace, Love and Kindness.
Just incredible... despite the pain! I can't even imagine and the Whites to me look totally different from experience. Very, very difficult... 11 years ago yesterday, i was a trail angel and never realized the word or my behavior. Welll....loaded with 3 coolers of food and beer; two with food have dry ice and food and the other beer!! I camped at Katahdin Springs Campground and had no idea I would be camping next to thru hikers!!!! I will post their picture and trail names... soon!! The one things I was told.... "if it is in you, you got to do it"...!!!
Glad that Mt. Washington was a win for you. What would've been 'dope' would have been you and Sunrise mooning the cog train. Apparently, it's a thru-hiker tradition. I'm guessing you're about done now.

Beautiful sunrise at Mt. Washington! I took the Cog up Mt. Washington in August when I was on vacation with my family! It was fun!
