I can't wait to sit by that waterfall. Great video.
Beautiful falls, thanks for sharing!!
Just started watching your journey and I'll definitely keep watching. The video quality is great 👍😃
US Army Ranger School Mountain Camp conducts training along the Appalachian Trail in Northern Georgia. Congrats on the thru hike!
Great start! Just started watching. Hope you're enjoying yourself. I like your little review at the end.
very much enjoyed this video, looking forward to following your adventure
Of all the thru hikers I've watched, you by far have the most pleasant demeanor. Thanks
Love your personalized weather/mileage bee chart at the end of your videos. I'm glad you're wearing a bright orange hat. Stay dry and thanks for posting.
Good video with some good views, nice water fall, so let's keep on hiking....
Wow that’s a ton of people. I guess that’s what they mean by the bubble. Glad you had a great day 1!
I love it more when you show us your path you are on. Great job. Good hiking.
I enjoy hearing your comments on your surroundings. I am looking forward in watching more of your videos.
Exciting, lovely start. I’m on board!
Double blaze means turn in the trail, if staggered the upper one indicates direction of turn.
should stuff your puffy all the way into your shove pocket in the rear of your pack. lots of overhanging branches and trees in close proximity to the trail on the AT so that's a good way to get holes if you have it kinda loosely strapped like that.
Thanks for taking us along. Enjoy your commentary 1 down and a few more days to go. 😊 Pulling for you from TN!
Great first day!!! Smart strategy; take it slow for the first couple of weeks to strengthen and avoid injury. Per the AT website: "Two white blazes, one above the other, signal an obscure turn, route changes, an incoming side trail or other situation that requires you to be especially alert to changes in direction. Sometimes the two blazes will be offset in the direction of the turn." Enjoy your adventure!!!
Awesome, thanks for info on the double blazes!!
well i can tell already i`m gunna like ur journey. ur showing so much of the trail & surroundings. great start.
Your video style kind of reminds me of Kelly Hays Hikes who hiked the AT last year, and I love it! Can’t wait to see your journey! You got this girl!
Beautiful day for the first day
Thanks for sharing.
We appreciate that it takes extra time and effort to document the journey.
I really like your creative recap page at the end of the episode.
Happy Trails
Great video, Stay safe, and remember to keep that water filter warm at night.
Superb production, entertaining and informative. You have a very nice camera presence. Looking forward to watching your journey. Great luck. 👌
Needle Ice I saw a lot in the Smokies in the early morning fragile to the touch pretty and elusive
Good Hike fun 1st day
I watch A LOT of AT journeys (hoping to do it myself one day) and I really like how you're taking in more of the actual beauty of the trail - the trees, the water, etc. That's great. Oh, and you are correct: that was hoarfrost.
. . . I spent my first night of my first thruy at the falls.
Love the honeybee card at the end. That’s a great way to log your hike. Hopefully you can check that amazing box sometime soon!
Being originally from the south as a boy we always called it Jack Frost
Best wishes for a great hike!
Go Jessie Go! You got this girl.
thanks great video
Congrats on your start. FYI, MacKaye rhymes with sky.
very nice vlog!
Love the trail log at the end. I haven’t seen that before.
Thank you for showing a lot of the trail instead of just yourself. Good luck!
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
The frost you saw on the ground was frost heave, hoar frost forms on trees/fences and sometimes on the ground. Hoar frost forms from moisture in the air that collects on objects while frost heave is formed by water freezing in the soil.
Fun day. Like that you’re even tempered about it and pacing yourself well. Love the note pages ☺️
Really nice vlog. That log at the end was a nice touch. Love the rhododendron too. Here in Pennsylvania it gets really beautiful along with the Mountain Laurel. Have a great week!
Beautiful day for s start.
Great job, energy and detail in filming. Please show the hard steep rocky challenging parts of the trail also as you are being very careful. People need to know it's not just a "Walk in the Woods". AT hikers are amazing...
Taking it all in 🥰 Beautiful day for a hike, for sure!
I love your format! Super fun to see the stats at the end. I can't wait to follow along! Happy Trails!
Great video! Yes, that was hoarfrost. I like your philosophy of taking it easy, if you can call carrying a loaded pack 7.4 miles easy, for the first couple weeks. That will really payoff for you in the long run. Thanks for taking us along.
Nicely done video!!! I like your path less traveled down the "stream bed", lol. Reminds me of hiking in wilderness areas where that is needed at times to stay "on trail" and not make new one (erosion control). Wow, tons of people at your fist shelter area!! Your on your way!!, thank you for taking us along!!!
Awesome start! You are right, it is so pretty, and what a waterfall. Kinda surprised at how crowded the shelter was. Enjoy every moment that you can, even the tough ones...
Good luck on your hike from Cleveland, TN
Great stuff, Jessie! Like others have said, the format is great. Looking forward to more.
Looks like Day 1 was fun and went well! Im looking forward to seeing your unique experience watching the Green Tunnel slowly bloom. You're so chill too. Appreciate the extra effort sharing your journey ; )
I enjoyed your video. I wonder if the peak of AT through-hikers started earlier and is ahead of you. I know some start as early as late February.
Good start on your great adventure. Looking forward to watching your journey! I love your charisma, vlogging, hiking and scenery. As always…Good Luck!!!! Stay Safe!!! Happy Trails!!!!
Thanks for showing us the beauty of the trail. I really like your videos style and look forward to watching the ones to come. Just be safe out there Jessie !!!
Nice video Jessie keep up the awesome hiking
Good start, MJH! People = Norovirus. Keep those hands clean and don't share anyone's food items.
Superb production, entertaining and informative. You have a very nice camera presence. Look forward to watching your journey. Great luck 👌
Hi Honeybee..I just subscribed to your channel today. And I'm looking forward to watching your hiking adventure.
Have a beautiful hike!

Stacked blaze is a turn marker. Top one, left or right, is your direction. That one is weird.
Not to put to fine a point on it, but you actually are in a temperate rainforest and will be for a while. Surprise!!
Your a lot tougher than me when it comes to the cold weather,if there is frost on the ground I have insulated pants on top of long blue jeans a heavy coat on top of a sweater on top of a long sleeve shirt to walk 10 ft to my car that's been running for 10 minutes I hate winter
Your videos are very helpful in my camping experience..you are amazing
Those holes 0845 may be from a Pilated Woodpecker. They make big holes just like that. Could be something else tho. If it's any comfort those shots are blanks. I think your video was spiffy. Thanks
Don't know if watching this adventure will make me want to do the hike more or less...You seem to be enjoying though.
❤❤❤
How did i go from day 74 to day 1.. Haha 😂 🤷 but this is where the journey all began.. Nice..
Smart girl. Take it easy in the beginning and get those hiking legs. After your previous video I got to thinking about how your parents are feeling about this? Congrats on starting and happy hiking to you! How much is your pack weight (base weight)? Nothing like a good bridge ...maybe.
She do be doin it 🤠
Those holes in the tree are from chipmunks
Great start Jessie 🥾 Looks like you’re carrying your pack 🎒 with ease. What is your pack weight?
With about 5 days of food and 1.5 liters, it was 26.13! Think I mention it in the next video!
@@Maybe_Jessie that’s a good weight 🎒👏 Happy hiking Jessie 🥾 I look forward to watching your journey
Good job on the video! Nice start
