This is very interesting! Thanks for the video. I only have a small oven in the garage. I could use this on parts that are too large to go in the oven.
Totally! I was looking for something that was a little tougher than paint & that guys could do at home. Check this out, the whole bike is done by hand with this stuff: th-cam.com/video/JXlo7DXXRbg/w-d-xo.html - Thanks for watching 😎 -Charles // mXrevival
I have the same sandblaster, and love it. I keep a chip brush on the top of the cabinet and brush off the components before I remove them. Keeps the residue in the cabinet and helps keep it out of the orifices when the tape is removed.
Hey Guys. I am using Medium Glass for sandblasting my Parts. It works pretty good but Just wondering what you use or is there anything you recommend. I only have tried the medium Glass. Thanks
@@silkcustoms520 you're going to want to go to a more gritty, aluminum oxide media for a better prep when doing this. It will just stick better over time when you actually apply the coating
You could, but it isn’t going to last terribly long if you have some high contact/ high rubbing areas. Nothing lasts forever, even powder coat will wear through. But there are new wrong answers and definitely follow your heart with it! Can always redo it.
Question... If I were to use alumibright or a rust remover because I don't have a blast cabinet would that effect the coatings end result? I feel like these would be easy ways to get the parts clean.
I don't have a blast cabinet either so what I did was completely degrease the part, use scotch-Brite wheel on my bench grinder (or use scotch-Brite pads by hand if you don't have a bench grinder). Before you go to the last two steps, make sure you have the look you want on the part (i.e., the scotch-Brite sanding grain) then do the acetone bath. After that just spray with the Aluma-Hide.
You probably could, but at some point it will get too hot and melt off. It's just meant to air cure for 14 days. I recently had to Media blast some of this stuff off a park I did in the past, and it was hard to get off even with aluminum oxide!
Exact same process after a really deep media blast & acetone bath! New video dropped today, you can see how she turned out! th-cam.com/video/W8019_dws1c/w-d-xo.html Thanks John!
Cool product, Looks great. Thanks for the informative video. I hope it is available in Canada. I will surely try it out on my YZ490 build. Disposable scalpels work amazing for cutting tape and easier to handle than razor blades. Oh by the way can i ask what video editing software you are using. Having a lot of trouble with my software.
Badass! Hope to see your results when you do. Are there some chemical bans in the great white North that may prohibit you from getting your hands on it? I am using hitfilm, the free version. it has been a great platform to get better on over time and can expand it with purchases for different effects. It has been finicky at times but overall I really enjoy it. I will look into those scalpels! Have not seen them. Thank you for the information
@@mxrevival yes. There are some products you cannot get here. Anything new imported from California has a sticker on it that says can be hazardous to your health. Its ridiculous.
Great video.
A good 30 min boil can clean everything off metal parts and not be a pain to cleanup after using acetone.
Great video man! I gotta be that guy and ask though... how does one turn a master cylinder into a freshly painted rear brake caliper? @00:07-00:16
Thanks Alex!
Dude, movie magic- Oldest trick in the book!
Did you use any clear coat after ??

Brooo!!! That's what I'm talking about 💪🏻, amazing video bro, keep it up 🤙🏻
Thanks bud, hope you get a chance to try it yourself 👌
I'm hoping to, one day I will man

Brilliant! Thanks for watching and sharing your tips to help everyone 🙌

great video, would this be a good idea to do this to a metal frame?

This was awesome man!
Super glad you liked it!
That's a great option. Thanks for the info.
Very welcome!
If someone sprayed the 2nd coat too soon and the part doesn't look right... how does he remove the coating a day later?
Great video man!
Big thanks Adam!
Every store is out of stock of matte black . What else can I use?
Def try Amazon!
Purple
Keep up the good work! Love the vids
Big thanks! Appreciate you watching 🤘
Can u bake it to make it dry faster

How’s the coating holding up a year later?
Bike is still being built but it'll scrath like anything else 🤘 Just another tool in the arsenal.
I did this now I don't have a front master but have an extra caliper. Dang it!!!
Awesome! Going to do this on my project 93 yz250. Thanks for the idea!
Have fun! Don't forget to prep with aluminum oxide instead of glass beads as well, you'll get a much better adhesion 👊
Do u need to have in a oven
Nope. Air cure for 14 days 💪
Thank you!!!
Thank you for watching 😎
Let's see the video on the frame coating job.

Did this guy just tell me he’d turn a master cylinder into a caliper?
It’s magic bro! You should see what happens when I rub two nickels together 😄
If you need any machine work or custom engraving hit me up. I will take care of you.
That sounds great, thank you. Surely a need will arise in the future!
Ok thanks. I'll hit u up
