Today I take a look at the Sig Sauer MXC SPEAR-LT in 7.62x39.
I'll open with, this gun is a ton of fun to shoot. The "need" is very narrow for a very special end-user, but did I mention it is fun? It's lineage is the MCX line as well as the SPEAR rifle from the NGSW program. There are a lot of similarities in the controls and design to the aforementioned.
While I love the 7.62x39 cartridge, it doesn't generally play well with the AR pattern magazines. However the Duramag that they ship with has done awesome. Regrettably that caliber is no longer as cheap as it used to be.
If you are looking for a fun gun, this might be it. Definitely recommend it with a suppressor though...

I got the longer barrel and it is a way less concussive set up. Sometimes short barrels aren’t all that practical. Love mine. Great gun!

Have the mk111 mod2 762x39 with Maxim short buffer and brace. My go to for car and urban work.

My 10.5 is approaching 5k on the BRA extractor and KAK bolt. Covers anything and everything up to 200-300.. if I can see it I can hit it.
Need to check to see if your barrel is moving. While it’s steel case it should group better than that. We had a 556 and 300 blk with loose barrels or barrels that would move inside the hand guards.

I also like 7.62x39 and keep looking at this and the maxim. Even with the price increase, i'm still not sold on 300blk, because range ammo is still more expensive and hunting or specialty ammo costs about the same for all calibers. But im also stupidity trying to get my faxon barreled ar to cycle subs in 7.62x39.

With my old Sig 516 that damn ambi mag release ALWAYS got me jammed up. It would get pushed by my mag stack across my plates or chest rig and drop mags at the worst times lol........I'm with you. I hate it. Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should.

Yuck, I mean my PWS is 11" but I am getting 1.5 moa with Barnaul. Hope this Biden bullshit ends soon.
PS: 28 round Duramags fit in regular chest rig mag pouches; hence....28 round length is optimal for this reason.
