Glad I clicked this, my scalp itches a lot even without dandruffs and so painful. I have to make my hair myself because it seems I'm the only one that can gently handle my hair.

I have NEVER been tender headed!! It was just a few years ago my scalp became so tender after I stopped perming my hair and went natural.

Hi. From what I noticed is that I think the reason why the scalp is sore or sensitive is because the hair follicles may be a bit damaged from tight ponytails or the tightness of braids. It could also be the hair products you are using that’s causing your scalp to become sensitive so you might wanna take the time to figure out what products you’re using that may be causing scalp issues and discontinue. Stop scrubbing the scalp, yet gently massage it whilst cleaning it so it can heal. T Sal or TGel therapeutic shampoo works great for sensitive scalps. I would part and spray a bit of Witch Hazel on the scalp and then oil it while it’s damp with Mielle Rosemary mint oil. I’ve been noticing positive results since doing this. Hopes this helps! ❤

I'm gonna try adding coconut oil to my shampoo, ACV & aloe juice to see which one helps me. This scalp issue is recent (about a month or 2) & it's driving me crazy. Thank you for this!

An update if anyone wanted 1: I used an applicator bottle & massaged my scalp with ACV & water mixture then washed it out. Before styling, I cut up an aloe vera leaf & rubbed it directly on my scalp. I also kept my head uncovered at night because I noticed that waals causing some itchiness but So far so good 👍🏽 might take a couple times to completely get rid of it.

Find a Dermatologist that specializes in scalp issues. Look up scarring alopecia. Ask for a biopsy.

Shampoo - NO - not needed - just rinse with water (that's all I do) and dry well with towel.

Your issue may be that you are sensitive to the chemicals that are used to coat the braid hair. Soak the hair in Distilled white vinegar (some use Apple cider vinegar) for a few hours. Rinse. You will see all the Nasty chemicals come out in the rinse. Do it again If you like. Allow to dry. THEN have it installed.

There are Dermatologists that specialize in scalp problems. Look up scarring alopecia. Some Dermatologist aren't experienced with this. A biopsy may be needed. Be persistent. Also, some autoimmune conditions may be the cause. Contact your doctor and look for one that specializes in this.

Thank you so much! Ok so I recently had a absolutely horrible freak accident.. I has a stopper on an essential oil bottle fall out dumping 2 Oz of oregano oil on my head and caused a scalp wide chemical burn.. My dr had prescribed bacitracin but I literally cannot get it through my entire scalp cuz my hair is too thick... I meed some relief before I can go back to the dr.. Like seriously anything that can work on an open wound or severe peeling and scabbing... Warning ladies and gentlemen oregano oil can be helpful in many ways but too much of the highly concentrated oil and it can cause a severe chemical burn that lasts months and months to heal and will behave like severe eczema or alopecia. It will endlessly peel and scab and stay dry and you'll have to slather it in castor oil to try and keep it hydrated as well as taking magnesium for better absorption of water. But the endless flakey peeling definitely hurts and yes I've found Castor oil for hair and scalp and it does help but anything else that can add to the relief I'll take. Probably couldn't hurt to get some aloe.. Ok thank you for helping me before I can get back into the doctors. I appreciate it.
