    Thank you for another great video. Would you recommend this for someone with seborrheic dermatitis who is really sensitive to oils?

    • @AfopeAtoyebi
      @AfopeAtoyebi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      Hiya! I sure would! Cade oil is one of the more common ingredients I use in my ointments for treating scaly conditions, so it's definitely worth trying. If you are unsure how your scalp would react to using oils, then I would suggest you add the cade essential oil directly to the clay mask and use it that way, instead of applying the oil mixture first? If you are mixing it with the mask, add a couple more drops though so its effectiveness isn't drowned out by the concentration of the clay. I'd say about 10-12 drops instead of just 7.
      Will you please let me know how it goes? 💛

    The moment... When you live in a remote hippie village in egypt, really need a detox, find this video and think you have to probably wait until you’re back in europe to get all this ingredients for really expensive somewhere online... and then you try the nature shop up the street literally 50m away and find EVERYTHING you need there for about 20€ total... then you know you are in the right place! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!!

    I used to have so long, thick, silky smooth, shiny and soft hair before, I really loved my hair and everybody would compliment me until one day my hair turned into my worst nightmare due to excessive hairloss,it's been 4 months since my hairloss started and my hair are ruined, I even lost hopes and was soo insecure about my hair but now I am trying to revive my hair and I would definitely succeed!! Love this content!! I just did an ACV rinse a couple days ago. I’ve never done one before 😳. I feel my hair is dry but I’m working on moisturizing it well. But I do feel such a difference in my scalp, and considering I should be doing this about once a month, I can’t wait to see how this affects the health of my hair/scalp!

    • @AfopeAtoyebi
      @AfopeAtoyebi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Yeah ACV is anti inflammatory so it can be really great for the scalp especially. Also, fun fact, your scalp's pH is slightly acidic (as is ACV when mixed with some water), so it's a great way to "restore factory settings".

      I haven’t personally bought some in Lagos before, but I did find this website: organic.ng/product/bentinote-clay/
      They sell it by weight from 200g for N2k - 10kg for N30k. You shouldn’t need more than 500g-1kg though. And apparently they do free shipping to anywhere in Lagos! Of course, Thai might be tricky during lockdown but contact them anyways.

    Love your video!! Something that I have noticed on Tik Tok mainly is that people are using bentonite clay masks as cleansers once a week. They are also claiming that it can help define your curls for low porosity hair. I have done some research on bentonite clay and notice that it has a really basic pH. And from my understanding, basic ingredients have the potential to blow open your cuticles. Basically, my question is how do you know when your bentonite clay is helpful vs harmful to your hair.

    If it helps put the water in the bowl first and then use a fine mesh strainer and sift the clay in little bit by little bit that gets rid of lumps because there won't be any when you're stirring it in a little bit by little bit and then he loves us actually in the strainer can be smushed out before it hits the water.

My hair is bleached from mid-length to the ends, so I only apply it to the scalp. I didn't think it through and ended up making too much, and there's way too much left to just throw away.

    Hello. I wanted to get your opinion on spraying your scalp with water, tea, aloe vera juice... Etc, instead of oil/grease. Especially in between wash days. | Loving your content, I've been using clay washes as my go-to for when I'm feeling lazy. Would you recommend kaolin over bentonite or Rhassoul? If so, why? I've ever used Kaolin, but I've been interested in trying it for a while? (sorry for the long comment🙊)

    • @AfopeAtoyebi
      @AfopeAtoyebi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Oyinda!! I think water and aloe juice should be fine, mainly because of its acidic pH that matches that of the scalp. But use very sparingly. I'd say a scalp rinse ACV or aloe one a week after your wash days should suffice. Also I think last week 's video answers your quezzie about the clays, right?

    Love the video. I have been detoxing my scalp for some months now and I love it. I detox by using brown sugar mix with some oils. You are the first I came across with using clay. . Thank you for this info. Very informative. I'm curious about you look on using brown sugar for detoxing?

    So when using the hair mask... do you apply it directly on a dry scalp or wet ? I never done a hair mask before so I’m practically new to it lol.

    Can I re-use it if I freeze it or can I keep in in the fridge? If yes, how much time?
    Thanks 🙌🏾

    Hello,
    Would you recommend doing this detox method on someone who has locs? My husband has low porosity hair and is prone to build up. His scalp becomes very itchy and always seems to have dandruff that seems moist.
    As always, thank you for your expertise!

      This should work as its stripping the external film on the hsirs while the oil is nourishing the scalp. In the shower the hair will be washed then opened and receptive to accepting moisture internally.

    Thank you for this was just thinking I need a detox cause my scalp has been doing bits! Quick question I just bought some Shakakai and Aritha powders to use as "cleansers" or shampoos can they work in the same way as Bentonite? Or do they work more as your "everyday" shampoos and then use bentonite to detox like once a month?

      💛Shakakai and Aritha are good natural cleansers, but they're not detoxers to my knowledge. I would definitely say the latter.

    Hi, I wanted to know if there are other types of clay to substitute for bentonite. Here in France it isn't a very popular clay. The most popular one you can find is green clay in bulk, and there are other ones like kaolin and I think pink clay and yellow clay... but green clay is the most popular. I was also wondering if charcoal would have any benefits in the mixture or not?
