"It's my first one." 😂
Can't wait for the 2nd one!!
Looking forward to the dominator numbers. I'm sure the numbers will be even better.
I was hoping someone would catch that! Thanks T!
440 for the win !! That will be a happy Charger!
Thanks, Buddy! I would love to have it in any of my rides
Thanks Joe for the shout out.
I am here watching this beautiful engine Perform!.👍👍💯
Good work done by good people!
@@stannelson2582 Thanks Stan.👍
Thanks Ed! She’s Boogying down!
The dyno guys are not mopar people but………. Joe is taking them to church. Big boy carb next. Joe after that you may have company in ma mopars choir! Dyno guy well on his way to being saved!!!
Thanks Stan! This has been a fun one!
Wow Joe!
Thanks brother!
Nice set up. I just rebuilt my 440. I have a 70 six barrel. .30 over with 10:1 forged pistons. Aluminum heads and a purple shaft 484 cam. 7 qt Milodon oil pan with a Melling high volume oil pump. I put the stock exhaust manifolds on it. So I was not looking for all out highest HP and torque. But a really well running 440 for cruise ins and car shows. I’m guessing low 400 HP. The 440 in this video has a job to do and will do it well. Nice.
That’s awesome! Old school cool
Gonna be a beast in the car!
Absolutely! Better hold on!
Badass engine! Good job Joe! 👏👏😊, I love 440’s, once you’ve had one-you’re addicted!💪
Thanks Ryan! Part 2 up now
You got that right i am in the process of putting a 440 6 pack motor in thinking in a Dakota small truck but ther awesome with a 440 I have a six pack so I think it will be cool I was going to go with a truck like this but I decided on a smaller Dakota 440 is my favorite motor unless you are Rich and can afford a hemi
Awesome power plant. 440's are too cool. Cudos Joe.
Yes they are! Really awesome bore and stroke
Torque monster through the rpm range. I love it Joe! Sweet Mopar music.
Thanks brother! It’s a good runner
Awesome engine! Great numbers for a great car!👍
Thanks Mitch! There’s more!
I’ve seen the Kuntz & Co. name on a lot of the Stock Eliminator style drag cars. What a sweet build this is Joe!
Thanks Brother! They do a lot of LS and fuel injected stuff now. I have a walk through of their machine shop from about a year ago. Pretty cool stuff
Very nice!
Thanks brother
Sire is going to be one nice motor for that SE nice job Joe done it again
Thanks Ray!
Pretty strong Joe👊
It Gets better!
Got some good power out of it ,gre
Great job, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Thanks Donald!
Nice job on the build Joe....can't wait to see part 2..... good content and thanks....🔧👍
Coming soon! Thanks for the support
HES GONNA LOVE THAT MOTOR
It’s a great one! I’d love to have that one in my challenger
Cool build guys. Love a 440.
More to come!
@@JustMoparJoe great!!
If it’s a MOPAR V8 you’re living the dream . The sound of a ChryslerV8 is music 🎧 to the soul .
Thanks brother!
Sweet!
Thanks Big Mike!
Good Video Joe.
Nicely done.
Aaron did a good job with the Dyno.
First class job all around.👍👍💯
Thanks Ed! I’d love to own this one!
Nice👍
Thanks Al!
Decades ago Mopar Performance made "Phase 5 " cylinder heads to change a big block mopar engine to a hemi. Have you ever heard of these heads? If you have what is your opinion of them?
I believe Micheal Yielding had some similar heads. That car ran great
Yeahhh, maan. Cool, Joe.
This is exciting !
Good job Drew !
Drew is the man behind the curtain! 😂
Awesome 👍! I'd like to see those results from that 4150!
Loading that video now! Thanks brother
Flat torque curve good power very nice
Absolutely! Great street engine that will spin tires
Very impressive. I’d love to have that motor in a 70 model A body with a 4 speed that would be fun.
You and me both!
That is lots of torque! I think you may need to make time in your schedule to install tubs in the car.😅😂
You got that right! Mopar to the front
Nice build and will make a great street engine. One thing is tell the Dyno operator to shut down the pull more gently, not to break anything.
Amazing how many people don't understand that concept, always brought engines down from high rpm with slight brake pedal or at least I did many years ago when I had some nasty street machines.
Thanks brother. Some were gentler than others for sure
Your outro music is just right
Thanks brother! I swapped it up for the video at 4, but I’ll keep it going!
Thing pulls strong thru 6k!
Yes sir! The big carb helps! Stay tuned🫡
Nice pump gas 440 joe ! I'm sure there's more left in it for next round,,, my 440s always love bigger carbs lol😅
Absolutely 🫡
Would actually like to see something like an 850 or 950, too, though. I just think a 4150 would probably be a better choice for a street vehicle.
Mo power 😎
Thanks brother!
Darn, itt gets there in a hurry. Engine sounds wicked and pumps out the power. I can't hear very well so I missed most of what you guys said. Trying to guess on the timing you liked best. Can't wait to see the dominater. Good job.
Thanks Ron! 34 was the magic number
Great job on the motor, sounds good and runs good. Waiting on carb. swap. Keep up the good work joe.
It’s in the works! Thanks Jeff!
Hahaha I don't remember my numbers I said but I am close. Those sheets tell me shift at 5k 😅 respectable street motor for sure. The dominator will bring the numbers up if the heads and cam can flow it. Good video joe❤
Thanks Rooster! There’s definitely more left in it! Stock crank and rods!
JMJ!💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks brother! 💪🏻
Rarely see that even power band like this in 440s!!! RIP u-joints n tires! Well done, my man, well done.
Thanks brother! I left every number from the sheet into my Graph. We do better next video!
440s always have broad powerbands. I've always loved 440s. They may not be the most powerful engine in the world, but they are perfect for an ACTUAL practical and powerful street driven vehicle.
@@mickangio16 Over 30 years I have rarely seen this kind of curve. Such a late bloomer with the torque, was really expecting it to kick 1000-1500 sooner. Last one I ran it kicked in ~2700 and went full nuts at 3800 to slowly decline until mid 5k before dropping off. Needless to say that motor never went past 5800, no point to it for a beastly work truck build. This one on the other hand is screaming to be a bracket engine sitting on the stall the whole run.
Nice
Thanks! More to come!
Really solid power numbers. The extra cfm of the Dominator should let all those cubes breathe a little easier. 15 more hp
It’s a fun test! Coming up! The fun part is, this 440 only weighs about 11 pounds more than an iron headed 360! Thankful for aluminum heads!
@@JustMoparJoe Honestly, I was shocked when you compared the 408 vs the 406. And the low deck was lighter than the small block.
@@Duster_Garage I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t saw it first hand!
💥👍🏼
Thanks brother
440's are thirsty so be sure to have a fuel pump that will provide enough gpm or the poor girl will die of thirst at high rpm. Sounds good and makes plenty of torque and hp, may even spin the tires. LOL
Absolutely! Thanks Brother
1brutal torque! nice power numbers for a simple combo with a hydraulic roller!
Thanks brother! Getting better all the time!
Awesome numbers! Just so happens, I know a b-body with a 392 that we can test those numbers after its installed. Haha. 😂
Let’s do it! This one won’t need the 5 miles of wires 😂
@@JustMoparJoe lol you ain't lying..geez
Nice street setup! I would to see a big solid roller on that motor!
You and me both!
Would love to see 750 street and strip
That would be great! Thanks brother
Lunch Break!!
Got it see it today 🫡
Oh man, now you have to go through and analyze the prediction video comments to determine the nearest guess!
Absolutely do! I wrote them all down a few weeks ago as they came in. That way I knew they were authentic
Regular tires don't stand a chance.
Shredded!
Thank you for not stateing the obvious. The Gen 3 Hemi will out pull this engine pulling a camp trailer going up a mountain pass turning only 2500 RPM. This motor is good for wide open throttle on a race track and no where else. The Gen 3 for all around performance is preferable.
Phoooey
Gary, I think you’re comparing the modern multi geared transmission with a new hemi to old school iron. Here’s facts: this 440 makes 500+ foot pounds at 4,000-6,000 rpm. It makes 400+ foot pounds from 3,000-6,000. Nothing about this engine is made for a racetrack. It’s not a race engine. It’s going in a show car with air conditioning and power brakes. If you hook it to a modern 8 or 10 speed transmission (like the gen 3 hemi) it will pull like a diesel. Look at the flat torque and power curves. Gen 3 hemi curves look like two rainbows. They’re both fine engines, but this is proof that with a few modern parts, an old 440 still wins.
I have both engines and what amazes me as the 5.7 Hemi will pull down the road at less than 2000 RPM with a pretty good load on it and get 14 Mi per gallon doing it. Now a 4:40 with an eight-speed and a lock-up torque converter and fuel injection may do this also but I have not seen anyone try to do this
@@thomasward4505 Now let's put the pedal to the metal and see who pulls the trailer faster😊
Nothing like a stout 440! What was the idle vacuum with that cam?
Initially it was 12 inches. I can’t remember what it ended up as. I think a shade over that.
If we could only find a way to put variable cam timing in an old big block Chrysler I think you would really have something then
That would be slick
😎👍🇺🇸
Thanks John! More to come!
👍
Thanks brother
Respectable numbers. Another stout 440...
Thanks Paul! There’s more to come from this one!
I watched a lot of the build videos, I must have missed the piston depth in the bore and the cam size..
Got it all! I think 😂 Dyno 440 Engine Build Part 3: Full Engine Specs and Pistons Installed #mopar #bigblock #engine #dyno
th-cam.com/video/_jYcnSNDsos/w-d-xo.html
Thanks, my pistons were .020 in the hole, with felpro .039 gaskets, I was hoping to use a cometic .020 to help pick up a compression point or so.. I am looking at this retro fit roller from comp cams .549/.544 " lift and 242 intake and 248 exhaust duration at .050.
Thanks again!
@@dougdawson3146 excellent choice. I know this block was decked quite a bit to get it squared up.
Dominator!
They sure look great
Tried that supersucker tapered adaptor spacer lost power. Might pick up some anyway with the dommy but a 2 inch open would work better
Great idea. Video coming soon
Very good, but the real question is, what kind of donut did you have?
Haha! It was chocolate iced. Wish it was Krispy creme. If they have those in Canada, you need to get a box
I've got a '69 Charger R/T. Planning Gen 3 Hemi swap but now. 🤔
You could definitely have an extra 100+foot pounds here! And less 100 feet of wires
The mighty 440 , even today a lot of people dont belive that the Kings aré the mopar machines , Is yo see un the street a orange cuda , a yellow car that sound " beep ,, beep" watch out the Big block mopars rules 🍻
Right on! Thanks brother
😃 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks brother!
What was the correction factor?
I believe it was around 3%
Do you think a 630hp 496 rb needs a girdel. I need tips on how to stop the rear main seal from leaking oil. Thanks for any advice you can give me Tom
I wouldn’t be scared of that. I used one on my 512 because my buddy gave it to me. Here’s a video or two on rear main fixes. Worked out well for me.

Ignition coil properly mounted if you select factory holder ? I'll be darn . Let me guess , condensator holder is not non metallic? That is a fail . You did not ground the condensator by the bottom ? Another mistake
We used the dyno coil that’s hooked to the Dyno ignition. Another mistake by making false accusations about things that’s don’t matter.
@@JustMoparJoe But, but, but... what about the condensator?!
@@mickangio16 I think it’ll get me back to the future!
Joe, how many pulls did the 440 make??
It had to have been 30-40!
The engine made great power and sounded awesome, but, if that's a customers engine, was he ok with that many pulls? 8-12 I think would be plenty! I wounder what 30 - 40 pulls relates to in miles? Great video Joe!
@@jimwellesley5849 it seems like a lot, but it’s the only way to quickly get heat in the engine and to be sure the rings are seated. Nick was there for the tests and he said to hammer down! 😂
Testing at lower than 140 f water temp ….. really ?
The man said, “We like the heads cold and the oil hot.”
No announcer guy? What kind of back woods, home grown, shade tree, Regular guy channel is this?
😂 you called it! Maybe I can get an announcer for part 2 😂
