    I have always liked Harland Sharp, but I'm not so crazy about needle bearings overall on street/strip builds. I like the bushing (preferably bronze but aluminum or iron riding on a layer of oil is acceptable) style for oil control and longevity. The Hughes (originally made by "Probe Industries," unsure if they still make them for Hughes) rockers are a favorite for more serious setups, but Crane gold/MoPar blue seem to work pretty good with realistic spring loads. Top-end full-race yes, T&D/Jesel etc. are hard to beat, and the Harlands bring that to the sportsman racer!

    I have to chime in here guys, do the math the 440 source rockers are 1.6 and the Harland's are 1.7 even though they said 1.6, the math doesn't lie. .361x1.6= .5776 just under what he got, and .361x1.7= .6137 just over what he got.

    • @Comet-hn3gm
      @Comet-hn3gm ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the math doesn't lie. After best geometry is set up and then checking it is quite often that the stated ratio is not correct. Some rocker manufacturers over achieve others under achieve. It's possible to have a problem either way.

    OK, but I would like to see how consistent the rockers were among themselves. Like do all the HS rockers have the same ratio? And do the 440Source have the same ratio. I know it's a lot more work for you, but I think that would be just as important to know.

    can someone please tell me or point 👉 👈 👇 me in the direction where I can find info on how to put a older 360/340 in my 98 ram 1500 4x4 with out an extreme amount of electric wire work THANKS love the info I get from all the mopar channels but moparjoe explains stuff well

      Thanks brother. I think you can fool most of the computer if you can use magnum heads and intake on your LA short block. That requires a special length pushrod that is “oil through”. Several threads online about that. But that’d allow you to have the sensors and efi from the injection, Also stock distributor. Front accessories may have be a pain. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Whats your opinion on 1.6 rockers on street cars?

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally fine. It adds lift. Some guys call it “cheating the cam” because it adds figures whee there never was any. If the geometry is good, then it’s good for any arena.

    Those rockers are beautiful.
    Are you still doing the turbo 400 build?

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! I have the Injection ready for the turbo build. I keep running out of time and dollars go into the racecar first. It’s definitely on my list. I’m excited to make up the exhaust for that hot side with my new tig welder.

      @@JustMoparJoe time and money - we all just need to figure out something to rid those two elephants in the room lol. That will be a fun series to watch. I’ve pulled one 400 out of a New Yorker and a guy online here in KC has a full 400 pull out of a RV listed for 400 (RV trans to carb). They seem to be the most readily available big block today for us mopar guys.

    How do you determine the ratio for a 360?

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very good question. Small blocks have a Goofy lifter angle. It actually reduces lift at the valve. So a .480 advertised lift cam may only be .460. I typically go for a 1.6 ratio when buying new. Magnum engines moved to this ratio, versus the 1.5 of the LA’s.

    Does the 440 source rocker get an oil hole at the tip of the roller ?

    • @JustMoparJoe
      @JustMoparJoe  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They do not. They have a hole under the retainer area that might spurt some around there

      @@eddiegarcia9657 it’s possible. I like the Harland sharps a lot. If you call them directly, ask for Randy Jr. And he will give you the JMJ discount. It’s hard to beat a lifetime warranty.
