    i replaced All 3 on my 55 inch and added zerk fittings .... and all the self tapping bolts from factory snapped off ( not using power tools)...i replaced them with n equal size Bolt and nut... for later replacing the bearings (if needed )

      Sounds like a good setup. I t was probably better that the bolts snapped on installation rather than during operation.

    Can you rebuild the old one on the cub cadet. Mower store to me no. 😊

    Been nice if you had noted what size sockets you used....
    Also, it would be good to mention that if your new spindle came with zirc options that they should be greased at point of install

      Thank you for the suggestions. I have added the information to the description in addition to the specs that were previously written. The socket size used to change the spindle in this video was 10mm. The Spindle Assembly was sealed and non greaseable. As seen it has a smooth shaft between the spindle and pulley with no grease fitting.

    I have to do this to my mower in next few days waiting on parts. One question what torque setting for the blades? Thanks so much this video should cut my time in half.

    • @TryAdaptLearn
      @TryAdaptLearn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The blades for the Cub Cadet XT1 in this video are torqued to 80 lb ft (108.5 N m) The specification is from 70 lb ft (94.9 Nm) - 90 lb ft (122 Nm).

    Ran over something in my yard too.now the blades just spinning on the shaft. Gonna make it hard to get the blade retaining bolt out. Worse come to worse I'll turn to my angle grinder and cut them off,lol.

    • @TryAdaptLearn
      @TryAdaptLearn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you. Sometimes you might be able to use a socket and breaker bar at bolt head on top of the pulley. I understand that it may be hard cause the threads near the retaining bolt could be stripped and that is causing the blade spin freely. Good luck.

    Where did you get the spindle for that 46" deck and what's the part # ?

    • @TryAdaptLearn
      @TryAdaptLearn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spindle part number is 918-06977a Spindle Assembly Replacement 46" Deck (Stamped). It was purchased on Amazon.

    1 more question how much torque did you use on the bolts

    • @TryAdaptLearn
      @TryAdaptLearn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unmarked bolts at this thread size should be around 12 lb-ft but I chose to set the torque wrench to 15 lb-ft in this video.

  • @kendallhapner9735

    Great video but wouldn’t have been easier just to remove the deck? js

    • @TryAdaptLearn
      @TryAdaptLearn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably a billion times easier. The only advantage tot eh deck installed may be if the fastener has to be undone with a tool above and another below the deck, but even then I'm sure the deck could have been held in position to provide easier access.

  • @davidharper4570

    The spindle bolts are self tapping.

    • @TryAdaptLearn
      @TryAdaptLearn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for letting us know. Luckily the holes were drilled in the new spindle case and the mower deck so there were no issues.

      @@TryAdaptLearn I got my spindle on the clearance rack at Tractor Supply and the holes weren’t threaded but the bolts had a three lobed shape to them and they tapped right in with the wrench.

    You didn't show us how to loosen the belt.

    • @TryAdaptLearn
      @TryAdaptLearn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m sorry about not showing the belt. On this model the pto is manually engaged with a lever and not electric. Unlike an electric pto, the belt is loose and can be pulled off of the pulley when the machine is off and pto is not engaged.
