I made a mini layer cake on mine with about 4 layers. I did chocolate cake. Spread creamy Peanut butter between the layers. Mixed some Peanut Butter into Milk Chocolate frosting and frosted around the outside and top. It was so good. 1 box makes about 3 to 4 mini 4'" round layer cakes. Great for kids personal birthday cake.
Great idea kid's would definitely love them and You can personalize them especially for birthday parties and holidays those would be perfect for a small holiday gathering I wouldn't want to make them for to large of a party but I guess if you had enough of them you could but for just family Easter Christmas Halloween and Valentines if you don't do much for certain one you could base the major holiday's on your own families beliefs. I love that idea. Miss use to host huge holiday and other celebrations for our family and friends.. For even smaller ones all you would have to do is is use a certain size measuring cup and cut it where nessasary. (I'm a woman on my husband's account 40 yr marriage ❤ God bless you and your family, Stay Safe and Well.
You can clean out an empty ketchup or squeeze mayonnaise container to put your dry mixture of pancake batter in…just fill it halfway or a little less, and when you need it, just add water shake well and squirt it onto your cute little griddle 😊 Thanks for sharing your ideas 💡
Add just a bit of maple syrup to the batter and pour your pancakes just a little thinner. Then use them as the bread for you breakfast sandwich and you will never look back. Also brownie mix works fantastic on the griddle or mini waffle maker.

Cookies don't harden up until given time to cool regardless of cooking method so next time I'd try not flipping and then turning off/unplugging the machine once it got to the desired color &lifting the top to allow to cool/ set up a bit before moving it.
Don't beat yourself up not being a chef nobody is born that way we all have to learn. And you did just fine. Way to go girl. I'll give you a 8 on it because you did good. 😎🤗😇

I didn’t realize I’d clicked on an older video and no one would see the suggestion… I think this cooking method would be perfect for a portobello mushroom, add cheese once cooked, then sandwich it.
Thank you for doing all the experiments saving me all the trial and error. But most of all for introducing me to the multitude of uses as I bought all my dash minis for camping trips, as well as home use. Most all of mine are rated at 200 watts while the newer ones now seem to be 350watts. I have two 500 amp hour solar chargers. Anything one can wipe out instead of washing is a plus. The wet cloth inside as the dash cools is a great idea and I think I'll cover it with paper towels next to the dash plates. Plus, I carry and use at home a small baking/cookie sheet under to catch any overflows.
That was delightful.....I don't know how I got here, but once here...I stopped everything and enjoyed every moment... THANK you.... :) Happy Trails......until...we meet...again ! ~Nancy :)
I have several of these mini cookers, I'm waiting on the mini sandwich/pocket maker right now. When ever you go to a fast food joint ask for salt and pepper, some places even keep them out to take yourself. Collect 20 or so of each and put them in a small zip lock snack bag. They will keep for a long time! And they are perfect for taking out to search for Sasquatch!
@@RachelinRealLife They have one but it always seems to be unavailable, so I bought the Nostalgia Mini Sandwich Maker. Same thing with a different name on it, same price. The salt and pepper thing is good for camping an emergency situation, or Squatching, which could be the same thing! They are small, last along time, easy to come by, and they're FREE! Ya can't beat that with a stick! 🤕
@@RachelinRealLife it's the mini pie maker for me! Personal size tourtiere, chicken pot pie, turkey ham and leek. You don't really need a sandwich maker if you have the griddle, the sammies seal nicely.
🧐You will find directions on the side of the dried beef jar that says that you need to soak the meat in water to rehydrate it & make it less salty! It’s used a lot in cream dishes like creamed chipped beef over toast! Aka:Sh*tOnAShingle!😝🥰
You can also use a tortilla on the top and bottom and insert pizza or spaghetti sauce, pepperoni, and shredded cheese of your liking to make a pizza tortilla. You can also clean the griddle with white vinegar in a spray bottle!
Both sides have elements and heat to a little over 300°F each. When done, If you take a tall stack of napkins and cut them round (scissors) put them in, put water, close. Allow one heat cycle. Open. 1. Cool Griddle, Arnold approves. 2. The nails are fab. 3. Where are your sunglasses? Your gonna burn your eyeballs out. 4. Enjoyed watching your video. You have the perfect personality for this; funny and informative. I was considering getting a dash griddle (I have the waffle maker) and you sold me.
Fun video! Dash griddle would be great for traveling or single people who don’t like cooking. I use the dried beef in a delicious appetizer called Paul’s Bread…cream cheese, sour cream, the beef chopped diced, chopped green chili mixed together and put in a bread bowl. You use the bread you cut out of center of your round loaf to dip.
I got a triple dash, griddle, grill and waffle maker. Take it with me traveling. It’s great. I used to bring it to work to cook my breakfast and lunch and even dinner sometimes in the break room. I have made grilled cheese sandwiches and love it. You can use it to make anything that will fit. Cook fish, hamburgers, ham steaks or bacon, as you said. I love my electric cookware. It’s been a real boon to my kitchen. I need to get the dashes out and cook either them again. It’s been a minute. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great idea for use with solar generators during storms, electric outages, etc. Probably uses low wattage. Cant wait to try. Always looking for ways to cook when grid down.
I have had my Dash mini griddle about 3 months now. I absolutely love it. I now won't be without one. It does cook several food choices. Your video was excellent...right on Rachel. Enjoy camping.

Nice job! I watched a few other vid's of people cooking on this mini griddle just before your's ( they only cooked an egg)..and you really have the bestie! I learned a lot an will finally use mine grill..so thx!
So funny with that steak. I always told my kids if it smells funny or funky don't eat it! I do love all the things you can cook on this little griddle. Maybe a mini pizza or some dough with some sort of stuffing in it? The possibilities seem endless. Thank you for the review, hope you had a good trip.
I have both the Dash Mini Griddle and the Mini Waffle maker. I'm going to try the egg sandwich with Canadian bacon, and those cookies, yum! I especially like this because I also have a LifePo generator, so it's a good option also if the power goes out at my house. I like grilled cheese sandwiches on my mini griddle. Thanks for sharing, loved the video... Happy New Year! 🥳
Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing. Looks you might be able to use that Vienna sausage can as a cookie cutter. Looks like it might be close to the same size as the Dash. 😉
Was so nice to see someone using other items on this mini grill. It didn't take long I was amazed about that. I have one but have not used it but once couldn't think of other things to cook. Now I really have some ideas thank you.
I use egg rings with my dash for McD's style breakfast sandwiches. With the ring I can separate out the white on a second egg and add the yoke to the 1st. The rings also make a good guide for cutting things like bread or tortillas to fit inside the dash. My only wish is that they would make the dash a little deeper.
Nice. I'll use the sausages w egg sandwich and ground beef for the quesadilla. Good selection of meals for the Dash and electric battery. So many possibilities.
Lol, you're supposed to soak the dried beef in water before you use it to get rid of the salt! I love over easy eggs! I wonder how well English muffins would work on there, I would definitely have tons butter, lol! I would also love to see bacon because I love cooking my eggs in bacon grease! Ooh, now I want to try a breakfast sammich with the lil pancakes, over easy eggs, peanutbutter, bacon & syrup (which is how I stack my pancakes anyway)! I probably shouldn't have watched this hungry!
How do you do your dishes when you're all done? I like cooking I don't like dishes. I went camping on my e-bike last summer I used a gas one burner they last a long time. And the Open Fire is so good for steak and hamburgers. But thanks for reminding me I have some of those sausages in my cupboard from 5 years ago LOL. They are pretty nasty I never tried making them on a grill.
Thin loin pork chops, dusted with lemon pepper, would likely cook beautifully! Thick sliced sweet onion, green peppers, thinly sliced beef for fajitas. I just may have to spring for one of those gadjets.
Salmon is nice on the griddle. I can see me not using my oven much anymore..... take thawed meatballs and make them into sliders or just make your own, fish cakes, chicken burgers, latkes. Anything you can do in a frying pan essentially.
Very good. I have one I use at home for when I want pan cakes. A friend told me to do cookies, eggs etc and you have shown how well it will do those things. Thank you for this and I will sure use it more the other ideas. Will be nice in my small class b van.
I try and keep at least one half gallon water bottle in the refrigerator sorta helps keep cold if you do unplug. You will be checking the plug more often now I’ll bet. Have fun traveling and stay safe.
Great idea on what to cook in it. I got the Egg bite one for xmas, I like to use the grill to cook different things but am just getting started. Love the easy clean up.
I just got one of these a few days ago. I love it so far. I made egg sandwiches for my kids and the egg was still runny so I just flipped out over onto it's lid. Thanks for making this!
Looks like I am very late to the mini appliances party as I only discovered them two weeks ago. I got the griddle and the waffle maker and am hooked. I did a tiny pizza using street sized taco's. Cooked the bacon first and in the short time it took to slice one small mushroom and grate some cheese the bacon was done. I added pepperoni, homemade 'za sauce, mushroom, cheese and the bacon, topped with a sprinkle of Italian seasoning and it was cooked in just under five minutes. Genius little things.
You gave a good assortment of recipes. I would try a grilled cheese sandwich. A grilled peanut butter and jelly, a bisquick biscuit for a hot bread, add sugar and cinnamon and make a sweet biscuit or fried bread. THANKS for sharing and stay safe in your journey
Ive cooked 2 egg omelets on the 8" one - shredded cheese, spinach whatever veg you want! Cook it half way then use a spatula to fold it over and cook the last bit
Most of your ideas are excellent and I will definitely try the flour tortilla and chicken with cheese looks really good! The beat however I think was a little bit thick and I think if you cut it so it was half the height it would cook faster on both sides! I have to see you looking at minimizing what I have in the kitchen and this gives me a good idea what I could do with a little grill, thank you!
Funny that you say you'll reuse the maple syrup container for regular syrup -- maple syrup was the original pancake syrup many years ago! I grew up on Aunt Jemima pancake syrup, but once I got used to maple syrup I came to prefer it. Thanks for the fantastic ideas! I have a mini griddle but haven't used it yet. This video has me more excited to do so!
a farmers granddaughter - we have our own family sugar bush and make syrup - MAPLE SYRUP - for just us - have never had any other kind of syrup - can’t imagine why fake syrup preferable to the real thing 🇨🇦🙏 that said thnx for sharing your griddle adventures 🙏🇨🇦
So glad you decided to like maple syrup...guess what we do in the Spring here...LOL...yeah, Papa (my husband) taps the trees and he makes syrup...which we give away to family and friends...it keeps us sane while waiting for Summer...which takes its time arriving in Maine...I enjoyed your video...always do.... :)
They actually have steak slices for sandwiches…I’ll bet those would work perfectly. Or ask the meat counter to slice for you. Mine will do it at no charge. Particularly useful if you can find a sale, especially now with beef prices. Good way to stretch your food budget. Blessings. Getting this grill!
Thx for this video. I got a Dash mini-griddle a few days ago and have been trying it out at home -- egg sandwich, pancakes, omelet, quesadilla, egg McMuffin knockoff. It's versatile and cooks things evenly. Great little product. I ran it once with my Jackery Explorer 500-watt power station and the display said the Dash was drawing 270 watts. One omelet drew the storage down from 97 percent to 90 percent. Next week: Field test!
Totally agree! Such a simple design but so versatile! I notice the wattage devices actually pull isn't always the exact amount they're rated for. They all seem to fluctuate. Good luck with your field test and thanks for watching!
I like the red salvadoran refried beans in a pouch. Spread those inside your tortilla, sprinkle in mild chopped green chiles and then cheese for your quesadilla.
Liked watching your video. I love the Dash mini appliances! I use them all the time instead of my full size kitchen appliances. Husband and I recently Evacuated from Hurricane 🌀 Milton and since I wasn't certain if there wiukd be sufficient power there... I took my own power supply and my Dash Mini appliances with us. Turns ou that there was sufficient shore power to use but I was prepared perfectly by taking along my nine (9) Dash Minis 😂😅😂❤.
Late to the party as usual so someone probably already mentioned this, but the only thing I have ever heard of the dried beef being used for is chipped beef gravy. But at least you tried. Now I want to make gravy on my mini egg bite maker.
You should make homemade flour Tortillas, here's how: Flour tortillas - Whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1+1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. baking powder, add 1/4 cup softened butter, use a fork to cut it into the flour mixture, add 2/3 cup lukewarm warm water, stir until you have a sticky dough ball. Using flour as needed, knead briefly and divide the dough into 5 equal portions. Roll each piece into a ball, cover with a tea towel, and let rest for 30 minutes. Using flour as needed, roll each ball into a 12-inch round or as thinly as possible. Working with one round at a time, transfer to a hot dry skillet and cook 30 seconds to a side. Repeat the process until all the tortillas are cooked. Small size used for soft tacos, and large size used for breakfast burritos. Use chives, scrambled eggs, shredded cheese, and hot sauce.
The Dash griddles come with recipies in the user manual. Thanks for the demo..i am curious as to how many meals you can make before the battery goes dead. What wattage is your battery? You managed to cook an entire day worth of meals..
Great ideas, and good video! I’m impressed that you did that much cooking on a 500w power station- mine is 700, which means I can make brownies!! Don’t know if you are still doing videos-I’m a full time senior van lifer, and will check your page.
Followed your link to your products page on Amazon and ordered the AquaBricks, too. I have well-used Coleman 5-gallon water cans, one 28 years old, but they're getting kind of heavy to be slinging about at my age. Thanks for this recommendation too!
Loved this video! I have a grill similar to this one which came from Walmart and I love it. My 13 year old grand daughter will definitely start cooking more for herself when she has a snack attackl😂 I am a new subscriber on the verge of becoming nomadic hopefully within a years time. Just need a good power pack.
I started using the dash when I was very into keto and making chaffles. They’re very versatile….. my favorite is chorizo and mozzarella, it’s a little messy, but so full of flavor. I like to precook my good quality chorizo and press all the grease out with paper towel then mix equal parts with mozzarella and then fill the dash with mixture and cook till crispy brown then top with salsa and avocado Also pizza is another favorite Psyllium husk 2 T Egg whites 3 T 1/4 shredded mozzarella Mix in bowl , will be thick Round out a patty and cook on dash till golden brown Top with pizza toppings and cook till nice and bubbly ❤frmTX
I have the waffle maker, and I've done everything from waffles to hash browns to cinnamon rolls in the thing. Now I need that griddle. I cannot believe how well that thing cooked a steak. It's supposed to be pink in the middle! Steak is best medium rare. I like mine so rare that if I gave it CPR, it would get up and walk away.
I have the waffle iron. Bought it for camping and now I want the griddle. You need some tongs, I use mine all the time. I subscribed.
Really nice review. I like all the variety you tried. This would be nice to have in the expedite van.
Glad you liked it! This is a great option that doesn't require fuel or have a flame.
I so enjoyed your video. I’m just starting to use one and I go camping so this was helpful. You were very entertaining too.😆. Thank you.
I try and keep at least one half gallon water bottle in the refrigerator sorta helps keep cold if you do unplug. You will be checking the plug more often now I’ll bet. Have fun traveling and stay safe.
Nice demonstrations I’ve been questioning the other grills etc they make, we have the hard boiled egg / poached egg machine . ❤️❤️❤️✌🏼💯
Thanks for making this!
this was so fun to watch -- i love your spontaneity :D
I really enjoy your videos they have saved me alot, thank you.
Great video. Gave me a lot of great ideas for areas where stoves and open flames are not allowed.
I am all about my dash minis i have several of them thanks for sharing your ideas 💡 its just me so I use mine all the time
You should try the egg bite maker... you can fir bread perfectly on there for normal size sandwich bread
I've seen the egg bite maker. Can it be used a mini griddle, then? I wasn't sure.
Loved the video! Thanks. You had me giggling!!!!
I like your ideas! Thanks for watching.
I love this video. Thank you so much. New subscriber.
Ive cooked 2 egg omelets on the 8" one - shredded cheese, spinach whatever veg you want! Cook it half way then use a spatula to fold it over and cook the last bit
Great idea's thank you for posting the link of where to find appliances you use. God Bless.
That was interesting. How about trying a pizza pocket or brownie.
During cooking video: I am not a cook. Lol! Thanks for sharing about this lil grill. It’s cool to see how much it can do. 🤗
I'm definitely not 😀. Hope your holidays were good!
Great idea to put in my prepping tote for emergency cooking. (I have a jackery so will have power.). Tfs!
Wow, that's pretty incredible! I bet your maple syrup is much better than this one I bought at Target!! I appreciate you tuning in Lois!
May I be your friend? I LOVE maple syrup, 😁.
Awesome !!! Thank you.
“I hope it’s not disgusting! “I laughed
Good luck with your field test and thanks for watching!
grin.. try one cookie
at a time.. faster 😁
I like the red salvadoran refried beans in a pouch. Spread those inside your tortilla, sprinkle in mild chopped green chiles and then cheese for your quesadilla.
Very cool personal cooking item
Great video!
My family chops it up fine and mixes it with dill or onion dip. then we use pumpernickel to dip into it
Pancakes make awesome breakfast sandwich buns. ;). I have the square griddle so it resolves the toast issues.
Random comment... 😂 I use a hamburger patty press from Dollar Tree to make the circle shape on the bread.
Can you make ahead and store? If so, how and how long, refrigerate or not? Thanks for the recipe!
Dried beef has to be rinsed well to remove the salt that is used to dry it and make it stable.
Great tip, thanks!
Thanks. And you're funny.
Where were you camping? I just got my Dash set of mini cookers, so far so good.
The Dash griddles come with recipies in the user manual. Thanks for the demo..i am curious as to how many meals you can make before the battery goes dead. What wattage is your battery? You managed to cook an entire day worth of meals..
500 watts
Great ideas, and good video! I’m impressed that you did that much cooking on a 500w power station- mine is 700, which means I can make brownies!!
Don’t know if you are still doing videos-I’m a full time senior van lifer, and will check your page.
You can also cook 2 cinnamon rolls in there if you smooth them a bit!
Followed your link to your products page on Amazon and ordered the AquaBricks, too. I have well-used Coleman 5-gallon water cans, one 28 years old, but they're getting kind of heavy to be slinging about at my age. Thanks for this recommendation too!
That's great! I appreciate the support and glad you found it helpful!
if you flip it over on the top, it will cookon both sides without having to flip it in the cooker
You could slice the steak into strips to cook with peppers and onions for fajitas. 🙌🏻
Love your videos❤, I may do some videos for my vegetarian family.
What an awesome helpful video
Mine just came. Will try it out during the coming snow storm. Have fixin's plus cookie dough.
Wow, that was great!
I like to precook my good quality chorizo and press all the grease out with paper towel then mix equal parts with mozzarella and then fill the dash with mixture and cook till crispy brown then top with salsa and avocado
Also pizza is another favorite
Psyllium husk 2 T
Egg whites 3 T
1/4 shredded mozzarella
Mix in bowl , will be thick
Round out a patty and cook on dash till golden brown
Top with pizza toppings and cook till nice and bubbly
❤frmTX
awesome!
When they make it out of a safe coating that is free of chemicals I will get one. There are Labels on safe non stick and I saw these don’t have it.
