Back in the early to mid 90s bikes were held to 100bhp by some agreement. At that time I had a gsx1100g, a shaft bike that made 100bhp. It genuinely didn't feel lacking in power because it was tuned for torque. Torque you feel as pulling power and it's far more useful than chasing revs to make 200bhp. This looks like a great bike
Looks great value, top quality review as always Mark, I seen another reviewer in Spain complaining about serious engine heat on these. Maybe a good thing in our avg weather!

As a new Transalp owner (18,400 kms in, and still loving it) I am staggered at the specs and price of this thing. Begs the question; how do they do it? Can't help wondering where these manufacturers, and their Japanese competitors, will be in five years or so. But that depends entirely on western acceptance of Chinese bikes, and that may take a little longer. How long can they keep offering these bikes at these prices, all Brembos and tubeless rims, if we aren't buying them? Our acceptance will depend on longer-term ride reports, and the establishment (or not) of independent dealerships. At the moment of course they tend to be additions to more established makes. This Voge is a little heavy, but then has SO MUCH by way of options, it's no wonder. So at this point we all just have to 'keep an open mind' and see where this goes. I notice the odd CFMoto turning up at our bike gatherings, and they have taken over a large part of the Honda dealership I bought my Transalp from. Our world is changing.
@@roadwarrior8560 Oh look - yes, they offer amazing value - no question. That is why I wondered (above) how long they can keep the prices so low - it seems economically temporary, just by virtue of the need to make a profit to continue. I have actually been following these offerings (along with the Kove 800) as they come onto the market, and am totally blown away by what they can offer for the price. As to the Transalp's air filter? You will get no argument from me there! I fitted a K&N around 12,000 kms, and have barely got over it yet, now over 19,000 kms... I counted 10 x panels, and roughly 50 x fasteners to remove! It took me a VERY long time, working methodically (being the first time) and yes - it was ridiculous. But it will be easier next time, and it must be said that the original (dry paper) filter was surprisingly clean, after so many dirt miles, so hopefully I won't have to clean it too often.
Incredible value for money. I can see the grim reaper hanging over the Japanese motorcycles industry unless they wake up. Lovely looking bike and spec superb. These will be 2nd hand bargains. 90bhp with fat torque is superb on road performance
This is an amazing deal! And especially with all those specs. (In fact, you forgot one for the UK release: Honk the horn, and she plays "Hail Britannica"!) ;) Great review, Mark!

Once again very tempting. Great review I think you have covered all bases. Do you think you could manage a 400 mile journey on that seat with barely so much as a five minute stop ?
It seems from the comments I am getting on my channel that the same thing is now happening in the UK with this bike, now only blind orders taken for pre order, I'm guessing you guys will be the same as the rest of Europe, a 3 month plus wait for your bike. VOGE have achieved what the wanted with The DSX 900 a global market change. It was a huge gamble producing a motorbike at nearly cost, but VOGE have arrived.

@@rajsmith9855…..Correct! I queried the service intervals with the selling dealer who didn’t know but relied on the ecu and it said 3098 after the first service which is just plain stupid. When I contacted them by telephone regarding the latest software update and service intervals I was told to contact the dealer…..they didn’t want to know or even talk to me. The dealers are also having difficulty with warranty claims, MotoGb are ignoring them also. It doesn’t bode well, whether Voge are aware of this unprofessional incompetence by MotoGb is yet to be confirmed. On that basis, whilst the 900 is a truly great machine for the price, service intervals at 3000 miles, unable to update the software to the latest 4.4 version and the authorised importer providing little if any after sales service, it is difficult to encourage anyone to buy one. I have a Tenere World Raid, another great motorcycle, dealers in every town, oem and aftermarket parts readily available, confirmed warranty and sensible service intervals. Food for thought.
Thanks for your excellent test Mark. Your tests are always good. As for this bike I just wish I’d had LESS tech. Far far too much tech and gadgets and menus and screens puts me right off. Very good, only downside is this isn't the type of bike I'm much interested in! It's equivalent to most 4 wheeler SUVs, and very few will take them anywhere beyond short gravel tracks. Now a decent tourer with some wind protection and much of this spec, more of a better looking competitor to the nt1100, and I'd look closer.

I've noticed these a lot in Spain where l spend a lot of time. Is Voge an actual company or a marketing name? What is the guaranteed length of parts supply? Who does the quality control & sign offs?
I think the issue most people seem to overlook, is the total lack of spares availability for voge and for that matter cfmoto, one of the reasons the major manufacturers charge more for their products is the large spares packages they maintain with the bikes they retail. Of the voge and cfmoto dealers I’ve spoken to not one had any spares , this then makes the insurance premiums higher as they are costed as a total loss premium due to no possibility to repair. This has happened with Chinese cars. The bikes themselves are indeed very good although they are using the association of bmw etc to aid sales, but it must be noted that bmw don’t get there engines made in China because they are good but just because it’s cheap to do so, that’s business sense. All il advise buyers is to just don’t drop it as insurance will right it of .
This is changing as we speak, you write that like it will never happen ! These are relatively new bikes, besides, there's a ton of cheap parts for these bikes if you know where to look... I'm old enough to have heard all this nonsense with Japanese then Korean vehicles.....
I’ve just traded the Voge 650 for the 900….it was the obvious transition. The 650 was 2 1/2 years old, ridden in all weathers, it scrubbed up well, the dealer was impressed and gave me a generous p/ex figure which came as a huge surprise. I stripped the 650 when I first bought it and checked it thoroughly and it compares favourably with any Japanese or European comparable model. I have a Tenere World Raid, again 2 1/2 years old and that engine is smooth but lacks the grunt of the 900 and of course lacks the gadgets and more expensive. We use Loncin engines in many of our small commercial machines, work them hard, change oil frequently and they keep on going, yet to have one fail. The 650 was a gamble purchase that paid off, great fun bike, had many big thumpers over the years, if you worked the motor on the twisties it was a real hoot, you really can throw it around. Not had the opportunity as yet to put the 900 through it’s paces as I’m a traditionalist and bed the engine and gearbox in gradually but it surprises you….just wants to go. Suggest you have a test ride, speak to other owners and then decide. The residual value is never great on anything that doesn’t costs a great deal to begin with. Best selling bike in Spain right now, long waiting list. Voge…the new Honda.
Nice video, its a nice bike with way too many good components and good engine. the big problem is the residual value and depreciation quite compared to Japanese motorcycles, CF engine same issues. what do you think? Anyway great video Be safe
Hi it's them same engine as bmw f850/900 gs so reliability is good 👍 Regarding depreciation... It's relative buy 9k sell , 5 k after a few years Bmw buy new 15:k sell 10 k after a few years if you catch my meaning Best wishes mark
9K New less 20% Vat the second it leaves the showroom = £7200 after 2years you would be lucky to see 4K and as its Chonk that's more likely to be 3k that's if its not rusted to death if used in winter
@markpulling12 most consumers buy a reliable Japanese motorcycle when buying a used one, so a second-hand Honda is not that big of a difference from a new one. if you want to ride this Voge completely, that could be a good option, but trading it in after 3 or 4 years leaves nothing, I think!
Can you believe that my BMW S1000RR will go down under 30mph in 6th gear and there is absolutely no juddering or struggle when you open the throttle, I have never had any motorcycle that can do that.
i have this bike like for 2 months and 4.000km i have latest sofware update blind spot workg 10 of 10 no false recognition or no recognition at all ,work just great
No dealers in Scotland and Voge are impossible to contact. Shame as I was all set to pull the trigger on this one, particularly the Black Knight finish.
This is an F850GS with different plastics, for about £6K less. I’m surprised BMW allowed Loncin to basically replicate the bike under one of their own brands but it looks identical quality (the engine, exhaust, swingarm, wheels and brakes look identical) plus all the extra features and touratech copy luggage is a bit mad really.
@@MH-xd2nd The irony is so many of the big Western brand names have bought this upon themselves by getting China to build so many parts for them on the cheap, including major components like engines. The Chinese saw an opportunity and took it - who can blame them, they’re no fools.
Did you ask them how easy it is to get spare parts for the Voge in case of breakdown or accident? I've heard of dealers saying "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it" and of sky-high insurance premiums because of lack of available parts.
Hi it's basically a BMW f900 sharing many parts so shouldn't be a problem Consumables like brake pads chains etc are easy off the shelf items Cheers mark
Western companies with expensive high end products realise that by using cheaper Chinese factories to build their products then they can make a LOT more profit. The problem is that the Chinese versions of the same products aren’t even copies anymore as they make the original BMW/KTM etc. ones anyway and can sell at a fraction of the price.
I guess that by working with Chinese manufacturers BMW and the like have taught them how to integrate quality control into what they do. So I suppose it will just depend on how much Voge work on building a good reputation going forward.
tbh if you plan to run mostly on the road and have around 10k (and more) I wouldn't understand why you would not go for those Voge ? It's a BMW fully equiped with half the BMW price tag. :3 (I do love my 800DE for being more versatile but I would kill for the cruise control, the heating grips and seat, the fog lights, the adjustable windshield, etc. :D )
Zero aftermarket support, horrid resale value/depreciation, not the easiest to get parts just to name a few. There's a reason why these bikes are so cheap.
@@kugangles9860 not worst than Italian bikes for the support and the parts. The resale value isn't good because people aren't yet used to Chinese bikes and reacts defiantly just as you did. Joking apart, their used prices will crash hard and parts availability is likely to be difficult issue as it had been with service parts for some models.
Great review Mark! I can feel your enthusiasm on this one! No doubt most of the other manufacturers need to take note, but most importantly, it is us, the consumers, that have to start buying these machines. Perhaps that'll wake them up a bit! Cheers, Ray.
With the depreciation on these I would not buy one new. Even though it appears good value when compared to similar bikes. Truth is they're all stupidly overpriced. I'll certainly be on the lookout when these are 1/2 years old and selling for 5/6k! Do with they were a little lighter though.
Good luck with getting parts though - the Chinese brands have a habit of throwing it at a wall until it sticks - so lots of exploratory new models with no backup/spares.

Another great video Mark. Great bike at amazing price with loads of extras.

CFMOTO/KTM engines are a big let down, cam shaft woes?
Try changing the air filter on your transalp! nightmare.
These Voge look a hell of a deal.
Hi 😊... Yes the torque on this engine is superb.. .from 3 k upwards you wouldn't really need anymore

I contacted the importer twice by email for confirmation and to date, over a month they have yet to acknowledge let alone reply.
Great value for money. As a good test give it to Freddie Dobbs to take it to Africa. Great review as always.
Thanks for your excellent test Mark. Your tests are always good. As for this bike I just wish I’d had LESS tech. Far far too much tech and gadgets and menus and screens puts me right off. A lot of bike for your money. Also a lot what can go wrong. I’m going sit on the fence with this one see how they review in years time with a few miles on them.
Well, they have been on the continent for a year now and seem to have no problems so far.
( Admittedly Voge seem to be all about off road if only in style, but still ... )
Looks great at great price! With everything you need! Where other makes ? Add extras to all bits! Really good video! Only trouble where I live ! No mechanics will touch or work on a Chinese bike! Hope that changes
Why not? They arent any different
@@christopherpekel6096 The mechanics disagree! They say cheap parts badly made bikes! And most I have spoken too will not touch them? Only work on Japanese bikes!!
@@johnterry804 they're not very smart. They obviously think that all Chinese bikes are cheap Amazon pit bike specials.

I've noticed these a lot in Spain where l spend a lot of time. Is Voge an actual company or a marketing name? What is the guaranteed length of parts supply? Who does the quality control & sign offs?
Hi voge is a subsidiary company of loncin ...a huge company...2 year warranty
Thanks mark
Great review Mark thank you!
Thanks glad you liked it 😁
Great bike :)
Hi Mark, how does it compare to the Benelli 702X when running through the twisties?
Hi Paul ... The ride quality is better .. it feels a premium machine... But through the corners the Benelli would definitely keep up

@@markpulling12 just out of interest, have you ridden the Guzzi Stelvio?!? I tested one but the brakes were SO sharp I couldnt get on with it.
The big Question here Mark is would you put your hard earned cash down and buy one?
@@Tidgeontour yes definitely but I've got two great bikes at the moment... So not yet :)

Hi mark. Dos it comes with luggage in the price
@@craiglydon8840 hi Craig yes I did show pic and mention at the beginning

Nice video, its a nice bike with way too many good components and good engine. the big problem is the residual value and depreciation quite compared to Japanese motorcycles, CF engine same issues. what do you think?
Anyway great video
Be safe
If Jap bike depreciates at 35/40% and the Voge is 50 you’re still quids in. Remember the phrase jap crap and now look.
Hi it's them same engine as bmw f850/900 gs so reliability is good 👍
Regarding depreciation... It's relative buy 9k sell , 5 k after a few years
Bmw buy new 15:k sell 10 k after a few years if you catch my meaning
Best wishes mark
Exactly, depreciation is pro rata. If you managed to nab one of these lightly used that'd help to offset it.
9K New less 20% Vat the second it leaves the showroom = £7200 after 2years you would be lucky to see 4K and as its Chonk that's more likely to be 3k that's if its not rusted to death if used in winter
@markpulling12
most consumers buy a reliable Japanese motorcycle when buying a used one, so a second-hand Honda is not that big of a difference from a new one. if you want to ride this Voge completely, that could be a good option, but trading it in after 3 or 4 years leaves nothing, I think!
Can you believe that my BMW S1000RR will go down under 30mph in 6th gear and there is absolutely no juddering or struggle when you open the throttle, I have never had any motorcycle that can do that.
Haha lol 😂 all inline 4s Will
The point I was making is that this is a twin and it does that very well with no juddering:)

No dealers in Scotland and Voge are impossible to contact. Shame as I was all set to pull the trigger on this one, particularly the Black Knight finish.
Poole Moto would deliver to your door just to let know:) 😁
This is an F850GS with different plastics, for about £6K less.

That's one helluva bike for that money 👍
Western companies with expensive high end products realise that by using cheaper Chinese factories to build their products then they can make a LOT more profit. The problem is that the Chinese versions of the same products aren’t even copies anymore as they make the original BMW/KTM etc. ones anyway and can sell at a fraction of the price.
Are these half the price of a BMW 900 GS in the UK? In Norway they are only 20-25 % cheaper than the 900 GS…
