Was really dirty for Slipknot to debut the new drummer with a very Joey like mask the DAY before Joey's birthday and not even mention him.Respect to SOAD to represent
The first time I saw Slipknot was in 1999 at a tiny club when they opened for Coal Chamber. When I heard those Joey on those drums and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing/hearing. I was one of the bigger people in the crowd at 6’5, Clown jumped right on me and I caught him and like a spider monkey jumped off my shoulders onto the crowd behind me. A couple years later I went to the Pledge Of Allegiance tour with Rammstein, System of a Down, and Slipknot. That was the Iowa tour in an arena against the stage, it got rough but it was an amazing time! RIP Joey, you taught this guitar player to respect drums at a whole different level… Thanks for the memories!
@@RockFeed Thanks man. I’ve been fortunate enough to have gone to hundreds of concerts from the 90’s through the 2000’s. Now I’m the old guy at the shows telling the youngsters about all the great bands I got to see, and you know who the young metal crowd loves to hear about more than anyone is Pantera! I’m blessed to have seen Pantera every time they came to the New England area from the Vulgar tour to the Extreme Steel tour, and nobody puts a show on like Pantera… The best times of my life was watching Pantera with my wife who tragically passed away at the age of 31 and that changed everything for me, but we went to a Pantera meet and greet at Tower Records in Boston the day before Ozzfest 2000… As a guitar player, meeting Dimebag was an absolute honor!
yea im 6'6 it does help at concerts, I get ask to sit down a lot at shows, really nice dude I am but I don't sit at concerts , should be against the law if you ask me
Slipknot was my absolute favorite band for a very long time. Joey was my biggest inspiration and sparked that want in me to be a drummer. My first concert was Slipknot and System of a Down. I grew less fond of them, mostly because of Corey. I feel like he's an amazing artist and can relate on his ups and downs, not in his level. However, I feel like he is extremely selfish and didn't honor Joey like he could have or they could have. Mad kuddos and respect to S.O.A.D for the mention.

@@Divine_Serpent_Geh It really is. I remember a time when this band would keep Paul's gear on stage during their entire performance. They've changed, whether people want to realize it or not.
Have you not seen all the stuff they did in live Shows a few years ago? They did more with Paul and his Bass, but they also rembered joey more than a few times.
@user-qe1pz6lp1q No if I'm wrong on that I apologize as I love the band. Just being the whole 99 vibe and celebrating 25th I would liked to have heard them pay tribute on this special occasion that's all but if they have that is great! 👍
@romaretaylor9953 you mean the video where they couldn't each share their thoughts or feelings about his passing much like they did with Paul in their press brief? Or better yet made a whole album dedicated to Paul. Where's Joey's album? Instead the label created a short snippet video and they haven't said his name since he died. Tell me, did they ever put his suit on stage like they did with Paul? They just profited off of his merchandise through the museum. I'm not a Slipknot hater either. Actually, it's one of my favorite bands. I'm just disappointed with how they treated Joey and Chris. Not sure what happened with Craig but they haven't said anything on that either
People are saying that Slipknot didn't say anything about Joey. Man, that's pretty messed up. Especially for the supposed "going back to 1999". THAT seems like a newsworthy story worth talking about.
Joeys performances in 2012-13 we’re getting really damn bad. Plus it was sad having to see him carried off stage by the road crew after every gig. Chris Adler from lamb of god got fired via phone too and he was recovering from a motorcycle accident. I don’t see their fanbase holding life long grudges, Joey himself didn’t even hold a grudge after he left he said that out of his own mouth
How they did Joey and then he ends up drinking himself to death because imagine losing the thing you helped start how depressed youd become. The fans really dont care because they need/want their slipknot thats what they've created. I truly believe Joey would still be alive today if slipknot hadnt done him dirty. No one kicked out Cory when he was drinking out of control. I don't think Clown should have that much power over that band and who wants to bet Eloy will eventually get canned too.
SOAD that was a touching tribute to Joey! When someone special to your heart passes away, say their name and they are always present with us and remembered! 🥁
