    • @NortelGeek

      The statute of limitations for holding law enforcement agencies accountable should be equivalent to the statute of limitations for the crime committed. In this case, the United States has no statute of limitations as murder was committed and this should be the gold standard regarding cleaning up corruption after the fact.

    • @Person01234
      @Person01234 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      To be clear, "statute of limitations" is just a bullshit excuse, the clock doesn't begin ticking down from the moment a crime is committed, it begins ticking fromwhen it is discovered, or in some cases from when the plaintiff has a full case against the defendant.

    • @cristalvardeman6173

    It took the work of two amazing, honest, and dedicated detectives, to solve this case against all odds, with missing files and crime scene samples, even having to keep it discreet and a secret from their own , and collecting evidence from a Costco garbage can to bring justice to this family and see that the case has been solved after soo long. It just shows that they cared more about serving the community than being corrupt . Kudos to them . Great detective work and dedication to their work, not the force they were working for, as they had to hide it from them in order to solve it. And it just shows how hard that Stephanie tried to cover her crime , over the years. She advanced through the ranks and tried to destroy any possible evidence that could link her to her crime in the end. But, there was all that close relationship Sherry had with her parents and told them enough about that Stephanie and her run ins with this person and the threats she made to her, that she could never hide, and then the deadly mistake, a bite on Kerry's arm that happened to be the key to solving her murder. It was not enough that she shot her three times; She had to bite her arm, that's how much she hated her. Poor Kerry put up a brave fight, but didn't stand a chance against a lethal weapon. Very sad that such a smart and beautiful and brilliant person had to die for her husbands's actions. Im glad her parents got to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sadly, that doesn't bring back their beautiful daughter. Kudos again to the two honest detectives for bringing justice and closure to this family.

I personally have had an ex husband and his mother, who are truly psychopathic people, over the course of years do everything they could to hurt my life and attempt murder on me, as well as others. They *act* charming and manipulate facts (evidence) to unimaginable extents, but their eyes are what tells all. Sadly, it took the experience to put two and two together, but it’s not a coincidence. Psychopathy will show through the look in the eyes, even if it’s only once in a while. It is something to look out for. Normal people do not get this look in their eyes.

    When he looks back on his efforts to keep his daughter’s case alive, he sees the paradox: Had the police listened to him in 1986, before the advent of DNA evidence, he and his wife may never have had the chance to read their [victim impact] statements. “If they had arrested her with the evidence they had back then,” Nels says, “she could’ve squeaked out of it.”
    It's bittersweet that it took this long. If the police had pursued her as a true suspect in 1986, she would have almost certainly gotten away with it. Now at least she's locked up for certain.

      The part that really ain't right is murdering a woman because you want to get with her husband, that makes you a monster. He is at worst kind of an arsehole, which isn't actually a crime, and since he didn't encourage/conspire with Stephanie to murder his wife and wasn't involved with the killing or aware that she might do something like that...he isn't really responsible for it at all it isn't his fault the woman he was cheating on his wife with was a murderous psycho, I doubt anyone would assume that was gonna happen to be fair.
      I'm pretty sure the "consequences for his part" are that his wife ended up being brutally murdered, over him and he has to live with that for the rest of his life.

Which means she knew they nature of their relationship. Nevertheless she murdered his wife. 7 years of knowing him and he didnt express an interest in them being in a relationship. He then meets someone, he gets engaged she finds out and she begs him for one last time. He shouldn't have slept wirh her. He gets married regardless of her trying to break them up by going to find his fiance at the hospital or writing a letter to his mom. And she decides to murder his wife. Thinking if she is out of the picture they will be together. But he didn't want to be with her seriously even before he met his wife. So he did the same thing he did before. Met with her 1-2 times and that's it. He treated her the same way he did before. She knew but her jealousy didn't let her see that, he didn't want to be with her.

    Okay but the fact that Stephanie was so jealous and obsessed with John but she “doesn’t know” and is having to turn her “memory back” in the interview. It obviously takes more physical effort for her to pretend to know nothing than for her to be honest with law enforcement.

    Loved how you talk to your pups at the beginning. LOL I'm always asking my cats when they're going to start contributing to the household and helping their mama pay rent and bills, and buy groceries. LOL
