@@ebreezmohammad6981 he did, historically, but the timeline in hamilton, the musical, is warped for plot's sake. so canonically in the musical philip is dead before the election.
I've come to the conclusion that the chess game in the video is either waaay into a game or the more funny option Jefferson can't play chess and Madison doesn't want to ruin it for him
Jeez. The personalities. Jefferson’s personality. The expressions. Burr’s pure, untampered anger when Hamilton endorsed Jefferson. I love how you added Burr’s reaction, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before. Absolutely fantastic.
And you can tell it’s Hamilton’s “You know WHAT…” moment. Like he is TIRED. He is ANGRY. He is PISSED. He is GRIEVING. The Reynolds Pamphlet is still fresh, his son is dead, and now Burr, one of the key players in the Reynolds Pamphlet, is up for election to be President? Burr had a hand in ruining Hamilton’s life. So here Hamilton, in his anger and grief, decides to return the favor.
Ok, idk if you're planning on doing anymore Hamilton animatics, but if you are, can you make it a running joke that burr tries to get a handshake in every song but always gets rejected, like in right hand man have him extend his hand to Washington and then hamilton comes in and Washington just walks past burr to talk to Hamilton or something, because I loved how you did that here and it would be really funny if that happened to him often. Just a thought
Or in 'Aaron Burr, Sir' Hamilton is the one that gets his handshake ignored by Burr when he's introducing himself then it just continues being the other way around (Aaron being the ignored one as Alexander grows) just imagine that, like that would be even worse for him!! Also! Can't wait to see more work from you! You are so creative!!!

Burr has none burr:*Gets letter all teary and wet*I-I'm fine... Everything's okay... I-it's fine...
I thought it was kind of funny how Hamilton had initially went to Burr for advice, in the song, "Aaron Burr" but in this song, it's Burr who desperately wants his vote and doesn't get it
They both sort of learn from each other. In Room Where It Happens Hamilton admits he's going to talk less and smile more to reach his deal with Jefferson and Madison. And in this song Burr admits Hamilton showed him to go all out for the thing he wanted.
@Bunbunfam I think you're reading too much into his delivery of that line. To me it seemed like Alexander was just being overly dramatic to imitate Aaron Burr's laconic style.
It was a great role reversal. I felt that Hamilton was trying to give him a chance to win his vote by asking if there was anything he wouldn't do. Burr's answer doomed his election. Hamilton, throughout their whole history together, has been seeking to discover what Burr truly believes and stands on. Of course, Hamilton got killed over this but Burr never revealed that to him or to anyone i guess 😄. All we know is that he wanted to be in the room where the decisions are made. I agree with Hamilton that a guy that doesn't have believes is dangerous in a position of leadership over a nation. A leader without boundaries is a recipe for chaos.
I love your scenes. They're a nice interpretation and very lively, with a nice appreciation of representation that Burr is physically taxed at campaigning, as he says. And then, as much as I like the idea that Jefferson and Burr can be stoic calculators, seeing someone draw an "Oh Shit!" with a "scared shitless" faces after the line "It's up to Hamilton!" Because tbf, both candidates haven't been his best friend to say the most. Also you didn't overdo it imo.
I'm not gonna lie, Burr is my favorite character. He's careful, and cautious about everything he does. He's careful to never show feeling, in order to get what he wants. Its not fair sometimes, but he makes the sacrifices. I love the feelings you portrayed for him.
I have to comment again bc Im watching a second time. Just, the visual DIVERSITY you have in all of your shots is beautiful. It makes this SOOO visually interesting, and helps it stands out a lot more from a lot of the shot-reverse shot animatics you see around. Your transitions, especially the one from Burrs face to the election room, were very good. That particular one gave me shivers.
Okay, I'm usually not the kind of person to do something like this but this animatic made me freaking overjoyed! I don't know how and I don't know why I just keep wowing at everything about this. And here's 10 reasons why: 1.) The freaking chess metaphor at the beginning. Now that wAS AMAZING AS FUCK. That was so creative and I had been listening to that song since AGES and I had never realized how a chess game can paint that scene so perfectly. Great job! 2.) The freaking puddle's reflection when Hamilton stepped over it. GENIUS! 3.) Hamilton's reflection in Burr's eyes was beautiful! I thought that it was just detailing at first but goddamn did it blow me away. 4.) The flashback behind Hamilton though. How long did that take?? That was insane! 5.) The fluid laugh where Jefferson and Madison's shoulders move realistically. HOW BOI HOW 6.) The fluid freaking transitions! Am I watching anime or what? 7.) Burr and Hamilton's awkward conversation was priceless lmao 8.) 0:56 Jeffmads eyyyyyyyyyy 9.) 3:57 Can we talk about how lonely that frame looked? I literally felt Burr's sadness and disappointment right then and there.;( 10.) And of course. The freaking ART MAN THE ART!
I find the chess metaphor particularly clever as well; Adams is a pawn, doubtless vital to the game, but on its own not very powerful and easily bowled over as the game goes on. Hamilton is the Rook; direct, aggressive, but held back early on and constantly leaving itself open to attack. When Jefferson makes his move, he uses the Bishop, signifying his way of flanking people and waiting for the opponent to walk into his ambushes. And the animatic on its own paints a pretty clear picture of why Burr is the knight, but one detail I find particularly fun: the way a knight moves means that it always needs to land on a space opposite the color it started on. The knight is a _flip-flopper._
i love how you added thomas and james playing a game of chess in the beginning. it's historically accurte that they loved playing chess together and had what others would call their ‘ultimate chess battles’ that would go on for hours.
1:24 I saw “Hamilton died in a duel” so I rewound the video thinking “he didn’t die before this song!” And that’s when I realized “Ohhhh... they mean PHILIP Hamilton.” Sure enough, it says “P. Hamilton dies in a duel”. Good insert of detail!

Hnngh I love all the little details in this animatic, like how when Jefferson says “they think I’m a Francophile” there multiple paintings of France in the background.
A new animatic from the animator who uploaded my favorite Hamilton animatic ever?? What a way to start the day :D I absolutely loved the opening with Jefferson and Madison playing chess (and Madison crying ;-;) where the pieces represented the different characters (Burr as the knight was super clever), the animation on Happy Burr™, the reflection in the puddle, and Drunk Burr™ in his exchange with Hamilton. This sort of attention to detail and visual creativity is exactly why you're one of my favorite Hamilton animators out there :D
I'm glad you've noticed that Burr is represented as a knight. He is very witty and prefers to wait for his moment, where he can "jump over" his rivals, rather than facing them directly. In contrast, Hamilton is shown as a rook, because he moves straight to his goal without any fancy turns. Also, Burr is not drunk in that scene, he is just very tired and anxious, because of all his pre-election activities. He is not used to work so hard and he certainly lacks sleep. Well, that's how I interpreted his lines. Thank you for your kind words! I'll try to make more animatics!
I love the fact that while Hamilton is talking to Burr you can very faintly hear the beat of Non-Stop in the background as signifying how Burr is now the one working like he's running out of time instead of Hamilton
Hoooooooooly shit my dude, this is incredible. The fucking camera movements, the creative angles the shots take, the expressions throughout, THIS WHOLE THING IS FUCKING ASTOUNDING TO ME. You breathed SO MUCH LIFE into every line of dialogue, every single expression conveys the story beautifully. Burr’s somewhat sleazy nature shines through here in a way most people forget to convey, but the last shot still gives you an immense amount of sympathy for the character. This is straight up my favorite Hamilton animatic to date; you clearly put A LOT of thought and effort into making this, and for that I’m really really grateful.
WHY ARE PEOPLE NOT TALKING ABOUT THE BEGINNING OMFG THAT WAS ORIGINAL ASF! I've never seen an animatic of this song that involved Jefferson and Madison playing chess and it's just sO CREATIVE!
Honestly, I loved Burr as a character. In reality I read he wasn’t a great guy, but... idk, I fell in love with him in the musical, and I hated how Jefferson went and did him dirty like that. Also he has the voice of a literal angel.
This might just be the best choreographed Hamilton animatic yet, if not the best animatic period. There's so much creativity and expression that I could easily see this in a finished fully animated form. Great work
im at a loss for words here :,) just from the movement and the transitions of each slides to the added humour. and the symbolism that you implied on your own with the chess pieces that FITS PERFECTLY. im honestly just astounded here by this. gj on this one!!

in absolute honesty, this might just be my favorite election of 1800 animatic!! some parts I adore and some dont look too good to me,,, but!!! I hope that isnt offensive,,, the parts I love are the ones like Jefferson when he says what, the transition between "vote for burr!" and the newspaper, the "burr" chess piece jumping away, jeff and adam's shoulders moving to their laughter, alex moving the paper to show his vote,, along with alex's lip sync, and burr's nervous and his "sugar high" kind of movements when they meet up before the voting. all in all this animatic is so very good,,

My favourite part tho was when Burr opens his hands for a hug and Hamilton rejects him and then goes for a handshake but Hamilton rejects him again and then pretends nothing happened.
mindnight ash Closes his ears?
**ears proceed to flap & close themselves** They’re not hungry anymore.
Didn't Philip die in 1801 three years before his father
@@ebreezmohammad6981 he did, historically, but the timeline in hamilton, the musical, is warped for plot's sake. so canonically in the musical philip is dead before the election.

I've come to the conclusion that the chess game in the video is either waaay into a game or the more funny option Jefferson can't play chess and Madison doesn't want to ruin it for him
PoatoKing This made my day oddly enough
hes just going along with it he doesnt wanna make his friend sad
Yeah lmao
Madison is the real mvp
@@niceofgames well said. Those last two lines go hard ngl

Just a thought
oh my lord this is what I thought about!
burr: you know if you just shook my freaking hand just once then maybe we wouldn't be in this duel
*shoota Hamilton*
Hamilton: Worth it
Or in 'Aaron Burr, Sir' Hamilton is the one that gets his handshake ignored by Burr when he's introducing himself then it just continues being the other way around (Aaron being the ignored one as Alexander grows) just imagine that, like that would be even worse for him!! Also! Can't wait to see more work from you! You are so creative!!!

Oh how the turns have tables
@Bunbunfam
I think you're reading too much into his delivery of that line.
And then, as much as I like the idea that Jefferson and Burr can be stoic calculators, seeing someone draw an "Oh Shit!" with a "scared shitless" faces after the line "It's up to Hamilton!"
Because tbf, both candidates haven't been his best friend to say the most.

Jefferson’s troll face when he says “Daddy’s calling” kills me
I have to comment again bc Im watching a second time.

And here's 10 reasons why:
1.) The freaking chess metaphor at the beginning.
HOW BOI HOW
6.) The fluid freaking transitions! Am I watching anime or what?
7.) Burr and Hamilton's awkward conversation was priceless lmao
8.) 0:56 Jeffmads eyyyyyyyyyy
9.) 3:57 Can we talk about how lonely that frame looked? I literally felt Burr's sadness and disappointment right then and there.;(
10.) And of course. The freaking ART MAN THE ART!
That’s some enthusiastically analytical complimenting right there
You know I like the chess scene but the knight made a illegal move so bad
@@BoomTheGuardian yes exactly!
i love how you added thomas and james playing a game of chess in the beginning. it's historically accurte that they loved playing chess together and had what others would call their ‘ultimate chess battles’ that would go on for hours.

this is literally the best hamilton animatic i’ve seen omg! it’s like a storyboard for the coolest possible animated version of this song!
Hnngh I love all the little details in this animatic, like how when Jefferson says “they think I’m a Francophile” there multiple paintings of France in the background.
A new animatic from the animator who uploaded my favorite Hamilton animatic ever?? What a way to start the day :D
I absolutely loved the opening with Jefferson and Madison playing chess (and Madison crying ;-;) where the pieces represented the different characters (Burr as the knight was super clever), the animation on Happy Burr™, the reflection in the puddle, and Drunk Burr™ in his exchange with Hamilton.
Ah, I knew there was some significance in Hamilton being represented as a rook but couldn't really think of it, thanks for the clarification!

This is straight up my favorite Hamilton animatic to date; you clearly put A LOT of thought and effort into making this, and for that I’m really really grateful.

in absolute honesty, this might just be my favorite election of 1800 animatic!! some parts I adore and some dont look too good to me,,, but!!! I hope that isnt offensive,,,
the parts I love are the ones like Jefferson when he says what, the transition between "vote for burr!" and the newspaper, the "burr" chess piece jumping away, jeff and adam's shoulders moving to their laughter, alex moving the paper to show his vote,, along with alex's lip sync, and burr's nervous and his "sugar high" kind of movements when they meet up before the voting.
all in all this animatic is so very good,,
If they make a Hamilton musical movie this is exactly how this scene should be layed out
