I understand Max Wedge Mopars getting more and more difficult to run due to engine parts availability. I guess NHRA would have to compensate for that with rules revisions.
Yes Joseph, the package is the amount of time from a perfect run. It is the reaction time added to how far off the dial the driver was. An .020 reaction time and running 10.02 on a 10.00 dial would result in a .040 package.
Kinda crazy right? It’s all about playing the hp game and going slow on purpose for a few years and nhra lowers the rating. You have to get ppl on board and not make any fast runs unless absolutely necessary.
I LOVE the Max Wedge cars. Check out my 1968 Barracuda fastback powered by a rowdy 512 stroker backed by an A833 4 speed manual. I think you'll approve. 👌
Hey Dave i am friends with the guy from Long island who sold him That car. I worked on it alot with him and put together a few engines for it. Hope all is well
@@user-wjm0962gmail hey. Bill, keeping busy here doing restoration work on some old cars, no Mopars though. That was Bardekoff's car, right. How are you doing?
@@daveshepherd8460 Yes it was Bardekoff's car it was pretty fast. I'm doing well still playing racer though i am cutting way back. it's still fun. I am going to a few points races this year and of coarse the Dutch Classic
I had a 64 sport fury with a 413 wedge back in the 70's. man I miss that car.☹

So refreshing to have someone who knows just what questions to ask.

could you explain what you mean by package on the time slip

No more test n tunes @ Sacramento Raceway😢😢😢
Sad news
Why are 396/ 375 horse engines rated so high while this 426 wedge dual quad rated lower than factory

@@driverinterviews I ran a 396 375 back in the 70's in AHRA stock eliminator , we had to run against the national record not an index
The same reason the Chevy 350/255 is rated at almost 300. Dudes are all running a second + under
I thought NHRA rated the 396 so high because the Corvette had the same engine rated much higher than what GM was saying for Stock/Super Stock cars.

Awesome! I love the ‘68 Barracudas
I ran a car like this back in the 70's and 80's, this is a far cry from the rules in those days, yikes. Stock!!
