Seriously what the fuck happened? Is it the overuse of CGI and post process filters over everything? There's a look to movies from the 90s, a fidelity but also an atmosphere that can't be found in newer films.

I'd think that those 2 elements definitely have a good part in why today's films look like they do and why the films of the 90's look better somehow, despite the fact that they're much older. I remember when CGI was starting to be employed in nearly every Sci Fi/Horror movie and it always looked absolutely HORRILBE!! Like the film, Anaconda! Or that Half-The Rock/Half Scorpion monster from one of The Mummy films...the CGI looked uttered atrocious back then. These days, they've nearly perfected it though. It's gotten to the point where I have a hard time distinguishing actual filmed interactions versus CGI insertions. That said, I still think that the CGI used in Terminator 2 is fantastic though!
This scene in this completely underrated movie that should have been so much more popular as well as the scene with the little boy floating outside the window in Salem's Lot scratching at the window. Those both give me the creeps as I remember
This scene gets into your brain and for some reason becomes even scarier in memory than it actually is in the movie.
