That apartment scene alone is pure Horror gold. Its the slow building tension, she spots him from a mile away and the lad has so much time to escape, but is frozen by shock and confusion. Most horror like that comes in jumpscares or much shorter scenes, very refreshing.

I’m an avid fan of horror films and I must say that lady running towards him ,and not just appearing infront of him, was one of the best scenes I’ve ever seen in the horror movie history. And that scene where a large person coming thru the door reminds me of movie “it follows” which is also one of the scenes I love.

My theory is that the two boys who were killed in the "Jacov' scene are the same two boys who intruded into, and vandalised, the old lady's house in the first scene. If you look closely at the two scenes, they do seem to be the same two boys. And if you look at the credits, only two teenaged male actors are mentioned as opposed to four. Im guessing the old lady died as a result of shock at the intrusion. The demonic lady in the second scene, is actually the dead woman from the first scene, who has been possessed by the demonic child (her son / grandson) in order to take his revenge by killing both boys. (this interpretation is consistent with the credits, which describe the demonic lady as 'possessed woman'). The boy looking through the telescope (Jacov) is not a peeping tom; he was merely looking into the apartment of his friend to see what he was up to, only to see him being murdered by the possessed woman, who then came for him.
What is captured in that last little flash. I tried so many times to pause it but it happens just too fast for me. Also I almost peed my pants during the monster scene. I mean I was actually scared.
Hands down, the moment she comes through the door taller than the door itself and then proceeds to rush at the boy is one of the best horror scenes ever.
Also the silhouetted form of the "boy" in the final scene being more goblin-like until the light flashes and he regains human-ish form was a nice touch as well.

Alright, here's my take; the kid died a long time ago, and his spirit remained in the house, haunting his mother. Whether she was aware of it or not, she spent the rest of her days accompanied by this spirit. Sometime later the mother perished too. Some people say the teens gave her a heart attack and scared her to death but she had clearly already been dead when they egged her house. The woman had no living relatives and nobody to find her body for a while so when the boys egged her house, even though she had been dead a while back, her body remained in the house eith her kid's ghost. The boy's spirit possessed the mother's body and followed the teens to their apartments. First it followed the teen in the back, broke into his apartment and killed him, and then when it spotted the other teen it ran across and took him out as well. When it killed him it took possession of his body and that left his mother's body behind in his apartment. He took off with the teen's body and when his parents or loved ones checked in on him they found his body missing but a dead woman's body in jis apartment. In irder to find the teen they hired a private detective who was able ro pin the woman's address down and tried ro visit her for any hints at where the teen could be. And when he finally gets there he sees the ghost of the child.
She was 10 to 12 storey high in the opposite building where the boy spotted her. That means the boy was also 12 storey high in his building. The fact that she climbed down from the other building, ran towards the boy's building and climbed up another 12 storey in less than 1 minute scared the living sh*t out of me. No jump scare could do that. This is pure horror. Amazing work by the makers.
Holy crap, that apartment scene is easily one of the most intensely frightening things I've ever seen in a horror film - proper nightmare fodder. Props to whoever did this - you're a genius. 👏👏👏
Here is what I understood from this short film: The attack wasn’t a coincidence. The two kids were the same ones shown in the beginning who vandalized the old lady’s home. I’m guessing she died of a heart attack and sought revenge. It’s pretty cruel retribution if you ask me 😅 What a chilling way to put it all together. Very good 👌🏼
The scene of the hag seeing the boy from across the apartment and coming after him was so creepy, it perfectly conveys the sense of dread of being trapped in a nightmare with something horrible coming after you with nothing you can do about it EDIT: Just watched this with headphones and didn't even know there was thumping sounds of the lady coming up the apartment to the kids room at 4:24 which is actually horrifying
That scene of her running out of the room, running out of her complex and across the street really built anxiety in me! Then seeing him wait for the door to open just really scared the shit outta me! Yes I think that was the scarist part
I get how some may think "it doesn't make sense" as to what's going on but sometimes it's not necessary. Just putting yourself in the boys position is terrifying enough. The idea of you're just snooping around looking at ppl, and you're caught by someone, & they actually come straight to you in the matter of a few minutes.... that's frightening.
There was another horror short which was almost the exact scene as Jacov: someone in one highrise is looking into windows of the highrise across the street, someone looking straight back at the looker, then comes running and flailing out the front door and across the street and straight to the correct apartment where the looker was. I was actually doubting myself for a minute, thinking that maybe I'd already watched this film before, but no, totally different short. And yes; I agree with you that that situation would terrify me! The fact that the get the correct apartment, that they dropped what they were doing and sprinted out to get the watcher are both things that always get my heart racing!
This was wonderfully shocking. To me the small details made this shine. The wind from the apartment whistled which, to me, resembled the sound of a screech. That set the mood for me. Not to mention the pacing and physical distance between the very large hag and him. She goes from across the street, several floors up to in front of him in seconds. I think as a human that is a primal fear; of something being bigger and faster dead set on making you their next victim.

I suppose because you have a short time run. An hour and 30+ minute movie means you gotta slot in more details. It’s why horror movies today lack horror because it’s repeated and predictable horror. It’s why I stick to short movies on TH-cam as you get decent ones like this one

That scene where the possessed woman spots the boy and comes running across the street, up the stairs and comes in the door like that...that was absolutely terrifying. It shook me to my very core and made me feel so uneasy and horrified. I swear it was the most chilling thing i have EVER seen in a horror movie. So, congratulations to the creators! Great filme.

i had a nightmare where the witch from snow white stalked me into the bathroom of our new house as a kid... her head peaked into the room from behind the door and she rushed in like the woman from this short, grabbed me, lifted me above her head and threw me into a bottomless vent in the wall... i can still see her menacing smile... seeing this brought all that terror as a child back to me... I love horror movies and the crazy part is that I burly picked up that there wasn’t no dialogue at all, didn’t realize nobody was talking which proves thats how much this film can get the fans engaged and entertained just off of creativity & more.
I think that the old lady's son/grandson was already dead and she was living alone in depression. And the spirit of that boy was also present in that house. Those 2 boys who damaged her property mischievously. So the spirit of that boy possessed that old women to kill those boys in the second scene. The inspector came to investigate that house because it was lonely for long time and his camera caught the picture of the spirit of that boy.
Has one of the best and most uniquely annerving climax scenes in a horror movie EVER. This is one of my all time favorite horror shorts and is severely underrated.
Possessed. In the credits she's referred to as the possessed woman. She passed it on to him instead of killing him like she did the other one. Or maybe she passed it on to both of them and we just don't see that 🤷🏻♂️ kinda open to interpretation I guess

In all 3 stories, all lives and the dead are involved and connected together. The main connection is a demonic and malevolent little boy. In the first story 5:45 am, there is a dead lady on the couch and it looks like she died of sadness. The demonic boy standing beside the lady on the couch, can be seen only by their reflection in the television screen. In one of the rooms in her house, it looks like it was a little boys room. I am wondering if her son died bc of this demonic boy or is this her son that died and became demonic. He has his head down as if mourning her death. My guess also, is that is the time she died? There are 2 young teenage boys who are causing a ruckus outside her home and targeting her on purpose. It cannot be at 5:45 am, since it is way too early and it looks like it is evening outside. Jacov, is the second story. He is one of the young teenage boys that was causing the ruckus. When the 2 boys ran away from the house in the first story. You can catch a glimpse of what they look like. The first boy, had curly brown hair and the boy following after him was wearing a hat and had blonde hair. The boy with the curly hair is Jacov. Both boys are now back at their own homes. They both live in apartment buildings across from each other. They look at each other with their telescopes. While Jacov is at his desk drawing, he hears whispers. I think it is saying I will search for you. I mean there has to be payback for what they did earlier. Jacov gets his telescope to look for his friend. He finds him and sees he is being choked to death. Then the lady that is killing his friend, looks up and sees Jacov and points at him and gives him a grin, as to say you're next. The lady looks like it is the lady from the first story bc they are wearing the same colour dress (even tho another actor plays her). The lady is entering Jacov room as a tall and grotesque looking crooked lady. The next scene we Jacov climbing stairs. Is climbing up to the rooftop to jump? The last story is called Inspector, and he is taking pictures very quick and randomly it looks at the crime scene. He is at the home of the lady who died on the couch. He is an intrusion into the house, so the demonic boy appears. So good bye Inspector, is it?
I'm going to be honest that scene with the possesed woman spotting the boy after killing his friend if I put myself in his shoes I'd have a pit in my stomach kind of feeling. that there would be true horror. I'd take my chances trying to climb down from the balcony😂 if I die I think I'd prefer death via falling from a building rather than being at the mercy of that thing.....
I was hoping he'd have the presence of mind to toss her was over the balcony as she came at him, but clearly the bitch was as far from human as we are from a snail!
This one is kind of profound. I think it's an allegory for growing up with an abusive parent and how in one moment they are completely absent and you are so alone amidst the chaos of the world and in the next moment you are safest away from them, when they become monstrous. And in the end you become infected with their wrath, to go on and abuse others since they have essentially possessed you with trauma. Notice how the teenage boy's face switches back and forth into his face as a young boy...a metaphor for how the hurt inner child creates evil deeds in the adult.
1000/10 this film was amazing. negating the fact that’s it a little confusing (until you read some comments and realize the plot) the directing was amazing, the camera angles and acting was spectacular. Scariest best short film i’ve ever seen. going with the lady killing his friend, while spotting him, and running towards his building is pure genius. awesome film.

The fact that she climbed down from the other building, ran towards the boy's building and climbed up another 12 storey in less than 1 minute scared the living sh*t out of me. No jump scare could do that. This is pure horror. Amazing work by the makers.
Imagine being a bystander leaving your apt to take the trash out and you see that thing running up the stairs towards that boy.
Holy crap, that apartment scene is easily one of the most intensely frightening things I've ever seen in a horror film - proper nightmare fodder. Props to whoever did this - you're a genius. 👏👏👏
Here is what I understood from this short film: The attack wasn’t a coincidence. The two kids were the same ones shown in the beginning who vandalized the old lady’s home. I’m guessing she died of a heart attack and sought revenge. It’s pretty cruel retribution if you ask me 😅 What a chilling way to put it all together. Very good 👌🏼

The scene of the hag seeing the boy from across the apartment and coming after him was so creepy, it perfectly conveys the sense of dread of being trapped in a nightmare with something horrible coming after you with nothing you can do about it
EDIT: Just watched this with headphones and didn't even know there was thumping sounds of the lady coming up the apartment to the kids room at 4:24 which is actually horrifying

I get how some may think "it doesn't make sense" as to what's going on but sometimes it's not necessary. Just putting yourself in the boys position is terrifying enough. The idea of you're just snooping around looking at ppl, and you're caught by someone, & they actually come straight to you in the matter of a few minutes.... that's frightening.

There was another horror short which was almost the exact scene as Jacov: someone in one highrise is looking into windows of the highrise across the street, someone looking straight back at the looker, then comes running and flailing out the front door and across the street and straight to the correct apartment where the looker was. I was actually doubting myself for a minute, thinking that maybe I'd already watched this film before, but no, totally different short.
And yes; I agree with you that that situation would terrify me! The fact that the get the correct apartment, that they dropped what they were doing and sprinted out to get the watcher are both things that always get my heart racing!

This was wonderfully shocking. To me the small details made this shine. The wind from the apartment whistled which, to me, resembled the sound of a screech. That set the mood for me. Not to mention the pacing and physical distance between the very large hag and him. She goes from across the street, several floors up to in front of him in seconds. I think as a human that is a primal fear; of something being bigger and faster dead set on making you their next victim.
This may have to go down in history as one of the greatest horror scenes of all time right up there with that scene from Kairo

I suppose because you have a short time run. An hour and 30+ minute movie means you gotta slot in more details. It’s why horror movies today lack horror because it’s repeated and predictable horror. It’s why I stick to short movies on TH-cam as you get decent ones like this one

That scene where the possessed woman spots the boy and comes running across the street, up the stairs and comes in the door like that...that was absolutely terrifying. It shook me to my very core and made me feel so uneasy and horrified. I swear it was the most chilling thing i have EVER seen in a horror movie. So, congratulations to the creators! Great filme.
Completely agree. I've seen so many short and feature length horror films, but this is one of the few that actually managed to scare the shit out of me. I wish it was a full length film.

I need films like Hereditary to tickle my horror itch these days but somehow that balcony scene gets me. The excitement of voyeurism and the panicked shock when you get caught meets the dread of confrontation turned supernatural. Good stuff.

i had a nightmare where the witch from snow white stalked me into the bathroom of our new house as a kid... her head peaked into the room from behind the door and she rushed in like the woman from this short, grabbed me, lifted me above her head and threw me into a bottomless vent in the wall... i can still see her menacing smile...

I love horror movies and the crazy part is that I burly picked up that there wasn’t no dialogue at all, didn’t realize nobody was talking which proves thats how much this film can get the fans engaged and entertained just off of creativity & more.
I think that the old lady's son/grandson was already dead and she was living alone in depression. And the spirit of that boy was also present in that house. Those 2 boys who damaged her property mischievously. So the spirit of that boy possessed that old women to kill those boys in the second scene.
The inspector came to investigate that house because it was lonely for long time and his camera caught the picture of the spirit of that boy.
The director did a phenomenal job, seriously the cinematography and subtlety of the creeping horror is done extremely well ❤❤

Possessed. In the credits she's referred to as the possessed woman. She passed it on to him instead of killing him like she did the other one. Or maybe she passed it on to both of them and we just don't see that 🤷🏻♂️ kinda open to interpretation I guess

In all 3 stories, all lives and the dead are involved and connected together. The main connection is a demonic and malevolent little boy.
In the first story 5:45 am, there is a dead lady on the couch and it looks like she died of sadness. The demonic boy standing beside the lady on the couch, can be seen only by their reflection in the television screen. In one of the rooms in her house, it looks like it was a little boys room. I am wondering if her son died bc of this demonic boy or is this her son that died and became demonic. He has his head down as if mourning her death. My guess also, is that is the time she died? There are 2 young teenage boys who are causing a ruckus outside her home and targeting her on purpose. It cannot be at 5:45 am, since it is way too early and it looks like it is evening outside.
Jacov, is the second story. He is one of the young teenage boys that was causing the ruckus. When the 2 boys ran away from the house in the first story. You can catch a glimpse of what they look like. The first boy, had curly brown hair and the boy following after him was wearing a hat and had blonde hair. The boy with the curly hair is Jacov. Both boys are now back at their own homes. They both live in apartment buildings across from each other. They look at each other with their telescopes. While Jacov is at his desk drawing, he hears whispers. I think it is saying I will search for you. I mean there has to be payback for what they did earlier. Jacov gets his telescope to look for his friend. He finds him and sees he is being choked to death. Then the lady that is killing his friend, looks up and sees Jacov and points at him and gives him a grin, as to say you're next. The lady looks like it is the lady from the first story bc they are wearing the same colour dress (even tho another actor plays her). The lady is entering Jacov room as a tall and grotesque looking crooked lady. The next scene we Jacov climbing stairs. Is climbing up to the rooftop to jump?
The last story is called Inspector, and he is taking pictures very quick and randomly it looks at the crime scene. He is at the home of the lady who died on the couch. He is an intrusion into the house, so the demonic boy appears. So good bye Inspector, is it?

I'm going to be honest that scene with the possesed woman spotting the boy after killing his friend if I put myself in his shoes I'd have a pit in my stomach kind of feeling. that there would be true horror. I'd take my chances trying to climb down from the balcony😂 if I die I think I'd prefer death via falling from a building rather than being at the mercy of that thing.....
I was hoping he'd have the presence of mind to toss her was over the balcony as she came at him, but clearly the bitch was as far from human as we are from a snail!

This one is kind of profound. I think it's an allegory for growing up with an abusive parent and how in one moment they are completely absent and you are so alone amidst the chaos of the world and in the next moment you are safest away from them, when they become monstrous. And in the end you become infected with their wrath, to go on and abuse others since they have essentially possessed you with trauma. Notice how the teenage boy's face switches back and forth into his face as a young boy...a metaphor for how the hurt inner child creates evil deeds in the adult.
Man, Screamfest finds the best of the best horror shorts always! Kudos to all involved with this creepfest!

1000/10 this film was amazing. negating the fact that’s it a little confusing (until you read some comments and realize the plot) the directing was amazing, the camera angles and acting was spectacular. Scariest best short film i’ve ever seen. going with the lady killing his friend, while spotting him, and running towards his building is pure genius. awesome film.

Cribs two big elements from “It Follows” but really well done. The woman running across the street - - and the speed and maniacal way her body moved - - was extremely creepy and startling
The ghoul coming through the door was cool. (As stated) would have liked to see a full length. Awesome opening shot. Cinematography was very nice.
When that hand wrapped around the door and this huge being came through my breath got so shallow. Very impressive.
