The fact that Himmel ranks first in the manga popularity poll despite being dead since the first chapter speaks a lot about how well he is written. I'd love if someone made an analysis about this character from a literary perspective, so we can know why he's so loved by fans even if he only appears through Frieren's flashbacks.
At first I didn’t know how to feel about him but he quickly became my favorite character. Every time we learned more about him I’d like him a bit more. But I’m not sure why
imagine the true sword has a spirit inside it or something like Fi in zelda skyward sword, and its super embarrassed about everything cause now its just sorta useless and will sit in that cave forever cause it was too picky
Probably spoiler because I forgot which chapter While it's just a replica, the smith who make the sword pour his whole skill and soul to make it. And when Himmel offered better sword by the smith, he refuse. He decided to defeat the Demon King with the sword because he already partnered with it for a long time

Imagine that the sword was enchanted to never be pulled out, and that was actually the desired effect. Only a true hero would still face his mission even all evidence says it's hopeless and that you weren't the one. Even if a brute managed to pull it out, that didn't actually mean anything except that he was good at pulling swords out of stones, and he could still lose, but a true hero bears the spirit of hope.
Since this anime doesn't seems to follow the classical path hero mc cheated destined to save, i thought the same thing, the sword was just a test to see of the one trying is a real hero that carries hope as u say and not some excallibur bullshit that only one dude can pull out because he was born that way

There's a professor back in my college day shared a quote to my class: "Tests won't define your failures, but achievements will prove your successes." Man did I remembered his teachings. Then he said: "But I'll still have fail some of you cuz you guys were doing too bad."
Kinda depressing if you think about it. Nothing really matters but results. The lack of achieving anything means that all you have done is worthless. If one’s proof is their successes and nothing else, then if one doesn’t achieve their goals they are in their own eyes nothing. In today’s world your professor statement is true one is nothing without achievements and proof but I find it to be too harsh and almost makes living feel pointless. If all that matters is achieving to prove one’s usefulness and success it’s like living one’s to look good for others almost just to stroke one’s own ego. It just seems sad your quote implies sad things to me .
@@revilokid I think it's said with the intent of following up with an encouragement words, just that in itself would have failed to hold ground for people but to direct it into "you need to try and achieve it" and it will take the role of encouragement words.

@@revilokidI personally think you should change your approach/viewpoint on this topic You shan't care about other people's opinions to you and your "lack of results" in life, be it from your parents, respected adults, etc. You don't need to be acknowledge, You don't need to chase others acknowledgements. And welp yeah its sad to think about our society today and even back then is all about results/achievements the need to be acknowledge by friends, family, and descendants. The need to succeed and produce results to be acknowledge and remembered by people who would only have your greatest results in there mind for a few moments and then just store your "greatest results" in the back of there mind and to forget about it evenually bcuz they leave out in an "adventure getting result" of there own, then if they succeed repeat the cycle, even if the person had failed finding there results And lastly yeah it is harsh to know that we all are not the same, others might have good results while other might have bad results but there's a beauty hidden with these pile of sheoit system, which is being varied, when everyone has difference it brings out white&black and not like the opposite of it static unchanging grey, (this portion i probs said things not too related on the topic but ill just leave it here cuz why not) But like in the end of the day yeah not being acknowledge suck ahhs but yeahhhh what my approach for these is just like lower others opinion bcuz you don't want to be on the loop of proving yourself to other, but never make only you matters tho or welp obv it would be downhill from there just balance it out and not make your only purpose of still living is to prove yourself to others
One of the funnier thoughts I've heard from others: Himmel and Co are the party to defeat the demon lord because they spent so much time doing side quests and helping out random villages that they had enough real world experiences and practice working as a team, whereas previous parties just speedra towards the demon lord in a mad dash to save the world.
That bcz Hero of the South already slayed someone from Demon King's Armies who could see the Future so Heroes Party can have 10 Years of side quest first. If that guy still Alive, He already bring Everyone to beat Himmel Party just like how He did It to Hero of the South😂😂😂
My favorite part of that scene is the moment when they're leaving and Stark looks at the sword, then leaves without even trying to pull it out of the stone. Because Himmel killed the demon king, it's as if the fact that he couldn't draw the sword discredited the sword rather than him.
@@TheRedMan77 It's also a beautiful moment for Stark in the sense that Stark has been doubting himself since the beginning, having huge imposter syndrome. Seeing that the greatest Hero of all the lands was in fact also "an imposter", yet went on to do the right thing, doubles down on the lesson that even imperfect people can become great heroes.
The hero’s comrades started their journey as a corrupt priest, a self loathing warrior and an emotionally stunted elf. His world was full of disarray, death and fear. But he persevered, he transformed Heiter into a beacon of virtue, gave Eisen his pride back, and made Frieren want to understand humanity. He made his world better every step of the way, stoping to help even the lowliest peasant for the most menial of tasks. He spent 10 years in the greatest journey of his and his comrades lives. He loved Frieren but never burdened her with that love because he knew she couldn’t love him back at the time. He made sure that even after his death, the world and his friends would have memories of him in the form of statues so they wouldn’t lose hope. He was funny, kind brave and loyal to a fault. Despite not being the hero of the prophecy, he destroyed the Demon King and his legions. And once he did all this, he simply came back home and lived a simple life, helping wherever he could. He died surrounded by the people he cared about the most. Himmel was a true Hero who saved the world not just in the grand scheme of things but with every single person he met and helped. Long may he be remembered.
It's as Gandalf has said in the Hobbit movie "Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love."
I like the idea of the "true hero's sword" just sitting there, rusting away. You don't need the validation of a sword stuck in a rock to be the best version of yourself.
I never really liked the trope of the holy sword that picks out the hero before, but this is genius. Here, we don't get the sword that, by fate or some such preordained way, correctly picks out the one individual that will be the hero; Instead, we get an individual who, despite the fact that this very sword rejects him, simply goes on. An individual who understands that you don't have to be a hero choosen by fate, to be a hero. In a sense, Himmel proved the sword wrong; however it may choose, it rejected someone who was so fitted, that even after getting rejected, they still succeeded anyway. What is a better way of showing that a character understands that they don't have to let their failures define them than them getting rejected by a literal holy sword, only for them to go on anyway. Truly genius writing...
I've seen it said elsewhere, but I really like the idea that the sword isn't actually meant to be pulled; In this case, it functions as a test to weed out the ones who'd quit after failing to pull it, since they wouldn't have the determination needed to save the world if not being able to pull a sword shattered their resolve.
And as the story goes on we find out that there were many heroes who couldn't pull the sword but they were heroes. A sword does not define who is a hero.
I love this moment in contrast to why he started his journey in the first place: He wanted to become the hero so that Heiter would stop calling him a fake hero, but as time went on, he genuinely wanted to defeat the demon king for the sake of the world, and when the very sword that he started the quest to obtain rejected him, he had grown past the point of needing it entirely. Himmel earned his title as Hero, rather than borrowing it from the sword itself. His sword is the Hero's sword, not because wielding it made Himmel a hero, but because Himmel had made it a heroic sword through his own determination to be the hero the world was waiting for.
I love the the implications that this scene created: Himmel, a fake hero, who was never chosen by the sword of the goddess, having to rely on a imitation of the sword, succeeded in becoming a real hero, regardless on who he was. The sword of the goddess, is just in a cave alone rotting away. It looks ugly whilst attracting monsters, unlike the supposed imitation, which remained beautiful and saved thousands of people and defeated the Demon King.
His influence alone gave beauty to something that was just a supposed copy, or a "weaker" imitation of the real thing He was a good person, who genuinely cared and loved people in general, he loved himself and...he loved Frieren That was enough, the sword of the goddess was not worthy
"Himmel lived up to those words" That part what hits me in that dialog. As someone who constantly promise myself to be better each day and sadly never achieve it, i envy people who give big promises and with their sweat and blood live up to their words. Himmel has my deepest respect.
you're better each day for never giving it up you're still better than what you're trying to grow out of because you recognize that it's wrong that isn't to congratulate you, but to change your perspective on yourself as someone who "can't keep my promise" one day, you will achieve it the short term is always unstable, but one day, it will all come naturally to you with practice
That freaking hit me in the same way. May be even more. I live up my whole life up to this without anything to show as "this I tried hard". I was going with the flow never fighting back as long as it doesn't kill me I'm okay with this life. Now that people who dear to me are in the needs of help yet I can't do anything with my power except blame myself for living my whole life this way. May be it is not too late to start again after all. Sry for venting in your reply. I couldn't help it.

"Anime is just a work of fiction. The characters aren't real people." "I know. But the messages, the life lessons, are real. From real people." This scenes can be interpreted into different views for each person, but the messages remains the same, which is what makes it poetic for me.
I like to think of the Dumbledore quote: "Is this all real or is it just happening inside my head?" "Of course it is happening inside your head but why would that mean that it's not real ?" Some things aren't physical yet they exist.
Himmel is that character who is dead after the first chapter but as the story goes on without him, the story always reminds you of him and the more you know more of this man, the more you like him as a character. The story of this anime/manga is just so good.
No, but Himmel live through what i call "Protagonist memories". In story, it was use front-back plot. The character was build from memories of protagonist. We actually never know how he was (except in episode 1 before his dead) because all was interpretation by Frieren. Yeah, it's new way to storytelling in anime, i never saw other character like Himmel and heroes party too.
What Frieren says at the end always chokes me up. She will always know the true nature of Himmel and his story. She will see it get twisted until the true essence of him and his story is gone.
It's really beautiful how this interpret himmel as a hero with a different points of view, "New generation will always romanticize heroes, until their original nature's eventually disappear" Those people didn't know how much himmel progressed even without a cheat item, they think he got his blessings and talents right from birth but it was wronged. He worked his way up through a thorny path much worst than other but eventually finished and crossed the line where most character would cheat through. He is not a hero no far from it. But he is indeed a "true" hero
the voice acting at 00:27 is just fantastic. The voice cracks and you can hear that this has left him shocked too. What he speaks afterwords kinda feels like he is assuring himself too and makes him feel more human. He sets himself a new goal to prove that even without the sword he is the hero
Himmel is a hero written right. Limited screentime, but his presence and impact lasts on a big scale. No exaggerated anything, no extras, no powerups, but a talented hero with sheer will, determination and kind heart, proving his worth, even with the weakest of weapons. Himmel is what a hero from the past, must be depicted as.
Alexander The Great and Djingis Khan are two great real world examples of this. They were both selfish and completely ruthless mass murderers, yet today they are celebrated as two of the most significant and impressive individuals in human history, even treated as national heroes in their respective countries.
It's tragic but it's also true, in Boruto they romanticize Naruto and Sasuke as the strongest shinobi ever, but people will never know that their was a time that they struggled to climb a tree. Same for so many other action/fantasy heroes.

Prequels only really work if there is not much info about the past to begin with, and no important event revealed for that period. Stories like Frieren's and Cowboy Bebop's relies heavily on important events told via flashback (and this happens multiple times) to drive the 'present' story forward. Netflix tried to do a prequel episode for the Cowboy Bebop live-action and it did not work (although you can argue that there are a lot of other things wrong with that turd). Also the way Frieren and Cowboy Bebop did flashbacks still leaves the viewer with room for imagination, for the smaller details. An example of when a prequel works perfectly: Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse on the NES (or actually most games in that series as a whole). We knew from the first two games that the Belmont family has the duty to stop Dracula every 100 years and obviously there must be other Belmonts before and after Simon, but we did not know any of them or how their journey happened. It leaves perfect space for telling a different story for each Belmont starting with Trevor in Castlevania III - from which we learned how the Belmont clan was feared and expelled from society before they were needed to defeat Dracula, how Trevor met his comrades through his journey including Dracula's own son which was a good twist for a game at a time.
Well i mean this story is recalling the past as much as it's telling the story of Frieren's current journey. You should check out the music video by Yoasobi for Yuusha/The Brave , it pretty much says that the story is about Frieren taking her loved ones with her to the future's light.
No,pasts are as important as present in this story, that's why u would see many flashbacks as they functioned to uncover mysteries and plot holes in the story
Beautiful choices of scene, music, and theme. As even if the world doesn't need you to be the one, you can still be *the one* . So don't regret anything, don't be lazy out and tell yourself you're worthless, because at the end of the day everyone were granted a purpose, and the journey is the answer for the question. *"Who are you?"*
Wasn't worthy to pull that sword, but still went out of his way to save the world because it was the right thing to do. Bro gave that magic sword and destiny the biggest middle finger and he's the greatest for doing so.
“Through action, a Man becomes a Hero Through death, a Hero becomes a Legend Through time, a Legend becomes a Myth and by learning from the myth, a man takes action.” It's a cycle, the sword was merely a test of resolve
Himmel is that main protagonist who was late to receive his love interest's (Frieren) affection but definitely did every thing he could to achieve his goals... Even though he was not the "protagonist" of this anime he deserves to be one!
This brings to mind a quote from monogatari's Kaiki who states: "The fake is of far greater value, in it's deliberate attempt to be real it eventually becomes more real than the 'real' thing."
the testament of how much of hero Himmel is, Dude manage to won the character popularity contest despite have way less screentime compared to Frieren, Fern, and stark. ---- the mimic chest beating everybody but Himmel and Frieren also pretty damn funny outcome.
How many of us would have given up at that point and accepted the 'facts' the world was telling us? This scene hits so hard cause it's so incredibly brave to refuse this truth and instead forged his own way. This clip is so well done. Thank you.
People can build statues and create every story conceivable for Himmel. And Frieren will always be his best storyteller, his most devoted follower. She speaks about him like a God she briefly met.
This edit made me emotional;; I love how Himmel the hero also embodies the beauty of his name (it's German for "heaven" from what I remembered) down to the blue colors in his design, nicely adding another layer to a conversation that pops up between Frieren, Himmel, Heiter and Eisen as they're saying prayers at the gravesite of Eisen's loved ones and remarking on the afterlife around episode 4: "But even if [heaven] doesn't exist, I believe it should." And Fern remarks after facing a certain demon that she thinks that Himmel believed in Frieren as much as Frieren says that people believed in him. And Himmel certainly embodies that belief truly becoming a hero and continuing to live as one in response to that classic Hero's Journey with the way he lived his life and what he would continue to leave behind many years after he passed away. What a lovely character.
Just amazing the way you can feel that Frieren put so much love and admiration in those words. The face like aways, but you can understand how she feels about Himmel. "It doesnt matter if he failed. He's special because he doesn't need it to be an Hero"
Watching anime for years but damn I have never been so down for an anime character, his character is just so damn smooth it doesn't feel the his act of kindness is stretched at all, a hero indeed.
Frieren is personally one of the best series for me in the recent times. I love how they adress certain things that a lot of animes just cant achieve. Something about its calmness makes me feel nostalgic
In the recent chapter of manga they explain more about the fake blade, apparently it was created by an excellent dwarf swordsmith as a test weapon, it really can be categorised as collector item, when the dwarf learned about it he tried to convince himmel to swap it with another sword but himmel refused it, citing that the sword real value isn't about it being fake or not
It's so important that they went with this message. The things you do, your efforts, and what you achieve are what defines you. Not some random prophecy or tradition or situation. A sword determines the hero that saves the world? Maybe it's because of the sword that the world was saved. But a dude and his crew that save the world - they did it without the sword and they are heroes because that's just who they are. In real life, just keep working on yourself and your goals so that when you finally attain it - you have every reason to be proud of yourself.
Him not being able to pull out the sword shows that anyone can be a hero. And how something like a special sword doesn’t have to be a deciding factor of what you can or cannot do.
Such a great, deep moment. Himmel was determined that he would become a true hero through his actions, not based on whether he could claim a special sword or not. Then, his replica would indeed be just as much a hero's sword as the "real thing", not because it was special or enchanted, but simply because it was *his* sword.
This anime really heals me during my grandmother's passing. It's so beautiful and just shows you how life moves on. I don't know what I'd do without having seen this.
This reminded me of a quote "a hero is not the strong who acknowledge himself as a hero, a hero is someone who sees themaelve as weak but keep striving for others. A hero is weak and yet he kept going despite being weak"
I like that it was never shown Himmel attempting to pull the sword. Frieren’s memory of Himmel here is also her romanticizing his story. Her only remembering the moment after that shows his character.
The fact that Stark didn't even tried to pull out the sword says he understood how heroes are made. He don't need a hero's sword to become a hero he choose to become a hero like Himmel did.
Imma be fr for you guys and tell you something my dad told me: Don’t try to be a hero. Just live for a while and be decent, that’s heroism enough. Honestly? Just being a good person even when knowing you’re gonna die one day is awesome. Live your life guys, Himmel did.
no one will ever know how many times i replayed this exact scene even. maybe i'm not chosen by anyone, but i choose what i'll become, and that's enough.
i love this scene because it shows that himmel wasn’t the “chosen one” but was such a special and beautiful person anyway. he did so many great things for so many people because of who he was, not because of some destiny. in my head, when himmel failed to pull the sword out, he mightve felt a sort of nihilistic and melancholic lack of importance, but still knew that even if the world deemed him unspecial, that was okay and he was going to be satisfied with “only” doing everything he could
This was honestly my favorite moment. you don’t have to be special to do great things, and you don’t need to be approved by others to be a good person. Himmel dispite being the named hero and unable to pull out the hero's sword didn't let that bring him down and dispite just being a human with a sword achieved his goal with his friends and that unshakeable resolve to do what was right in his eyes. Like thanos from marvel said: "the hardest choices require the strongest wills"
He may not be the mc of this show but he is our legendary hero, he shows that even a side character can make an impact and memorable moments that captures our hearts❤

the whole manga is magnificent. all the main characters, all the situations, all the reactions feel alive and breathing, living their own life, their story and emotions. truly the best thing that happened to manga world
Himmel really was a true hero even without that sword, and it’s not only because he defeated the demon king; he always helped ordinary people in their daily lives, doing what Eisen called “insignificant”. He also inspired others: he inspired Heiter to save Fern, and he inspired Frieren to appreciate the time she’s spent with others and to understand humanity more.
0:26 Can we all agree that Himmel's VA does an amazing job with making the start of the sentence sound like he was upset, and picks himself up as the sentence continues? Big slap to that true sacred sword.

Facing the disappointment and humility of not being the chosen one, and still doing the right thing is what makes a hero. Indeed.
It's somewhat similar to Rudeus's case from Mushoku Tensei where the sacred beast doesn't recognize him as the hero, even though he's the protagonist. I won't go into details as it would spoil the story for people who only watched the anime.

There's a professor back in my college day shared a quote to my class:
"Tests won't define your failures, but achievements will prove your successes."
Man did I remembered his teachings.

@@revilokidI personally think you should change your approach/viewpoint on this topic
You shan't care about other people's opinions to you and your "lack of results" in life, be it from your parents, respected adults, etc. You don't need to be acknowledge, You don't need to chase others acknowledgements.
And welp yeah its sad to think about our society today and even back then is all about results/achievements the need to be acknowledge by friends, family, and descendants. The need to succeed and produce results to be acknowledge and remembered by people who would only have your greatest results in there mind for a few moments and then just store your "greatest results" in the back of there mind and to forget about it evenually bcuz they leave out in an "adventure getting result" of there own, then if they succeed repeat the cycle, even if the person had failed finding there results
And lastly yeah it is harsh to know that we all are not the same, others might have good results while other might have bad results but there's a beauty hidden with these pile of sheoit system, which is being varied, when everyone has difference it brings out white&black and not like the opposite of it static unchanging grey, (this portion i probs said things not too related on the topic but ill just leave it here cuz why not)
But like in the end of the day yeah not being acknowledge suck ahhs but yeahhhh what my approach for these is just like lower others opinion bcuz you don't want to be on the loop of proving yourself to other, but never make only you matters tho or welp obv it would be downhill from there just balance it out and not make your only purpose of still living is to prove yourself to others
One of the funnier thoughts I've heard from others:
Himmel and Co are the party to defeat the demon lord because they spent so much time doing side quests and helping out random villages that they had enough real world experiences and practice working as a team, whereas previous parties just speedra towards the demon lord in a mad dash to save the world.
When you already do 99% progress of all quests then you face last boss
Or most demons just blitzed the heroes the moment the heroes get too strong.
True that, unlike most animes where the hero kills the demon king in about a year, Himmel took 10 years gathering experience
they became over leveled in the final battle due to finishing sidequests
That bcz Hero of the South already slayed someone from Demon King's Armies who could see the Future so Heroes Party can have 10 Years of side quest first. If that guy still Alive, He already bring Everyone to beat Himmel Party just like how He did It to Hero of the South😂😂😂
My favorite part of that scene is the moment when they're leaving and Stark looks at the sword, then leaves without even trying to pull it out of the stone. Because Himmel killed the demon king, it's as if the fact that he couldn't draw the sword discredited the sword rather than him.
I didn’t even notice. You just made me appreciate this scene even more
Stark also knew that he didn't need or want the validation of a sword that couldn't even perform the task it was made for.
Before it was considered a godly weapon only worthy to those chosen to end great calamity.
Now, it's just a rusty useless sword stuck in a rock.
Well spoken
As a Fantasy Hero Himmel right now is at the top of my list. As for Superheroes, it's either Spiderman, Batman or All might

Are you Himmel because you're the hero or does being the Hero make you Himmel?
Bro this just made the scene hit harder 😭
1000th like🎉
I love the the implications that this scene created:
Himmel, a fake hero, who was never chosen by the sword of the goddess, having to rely on a imitation of the sword, succeeded in becoming a real hero, regardless on who he was.
The sword of the goddess, is just in a cave alone rotting away. It looks ugly whilst attracting monsters, unlike the supposed imitation, which remained beautiful and saved thousands of people and defeated the Demon King.
His influence alone gave beauty to something that was just a supposed copy, or a "weaker" imitation of the real thing
He was a good person, who genuinely cared and loved people in general, he loved himself and...he loved Frieren
That was enough, the sword of the goddess was not worthy

I want a prequel series called something like...
Frieren: To Our Journey's End.
Frieren: 40K
The ENTIRE point of the series is that we slowly live their adventure through Frieren's memories
Beautiful choices of scene, music, and theme.

People can build statues and create every story conceivable for Himmel. And Frieren will always be his best storyteller, his most devoted follower. She speaks about him like a God she briefly met.
This edit made me emotional;; I love how Himmel the hero also embodies the beauty of his name (it's German for "heaven" from what I remembered) down to the blue colors in his design, nicely adding another layer to a conversation that pops up between Frieren, Himmel, Heiter and Eisen as they're saying prayers at the gravesite of Eisen's loved ones and remarking on the afterlife around episode 4:
"But even if [heaven] doesn't exist, I believe it should."
And Fern remarks after facing a certain demon that she thinks that Himmel believed in Frieren as much as Frieren says that people believed in him.
He's special because he doesn't need it to be an Hero"
himmels voice actor is just literally perfection love his voice makes me feel peaceful inside idk about yall
In the recent chapter of manga they explain more about the fake blade, apparently it was created by an excellent dwarf swordsmith as a test weapon, it really can be categorised as collector item, when the dwarf learned about it he tried to convince himmel to swap it with another sword but himmel refused it, citing that the sword real value isn't about it being fake or not
That dwarf was also brought to tear knowing that while he made a replica of the Hero Sword, Hinmel gave it the glory of a real one
The fast pictures of the adventure really makes it so natural to Frieren's perspective on the journey.
My favorite scene in this entire show was the flashback to the sword when stark said, "I bet himmel wouldn't have run."
"What if I am a Fake,
There is no saying that a fake can't surpass the real one"
Such a great, deep moment. Himmel was determined that he would become a true hero through his actions, not based on whether he could claim a special sword or not. Then, his replica would indeed be just as much a hero's sword as the "real thing", not because it was special or enchanted, but simply because it was *his* sword.
The Weapon does not define the wielder
It's the wielder that defines the weapon
Amazing words. Goosebumps

He don't need a hero's sword to become a hero he choose to become a hero like Himmel did.

i love this scene because it shows that himmel wasn’t the “chosen one” but was such a special and beautiful person anyway. he did so many great things for so many people because of who he was, not because of some destiny. in my head, when himmel failed to pull the sword out, he mightve felt a sort of nihilistic and melancholic lack of importance, but still knew that even if the world deemed him unspecial, that was okay and he was going to be satisfied with “only” doing everything he could

이 영상 진심 눈물난다… 브금도 너무 아리고 무엇보다 힘멜이 돌아볼 때, 그리고 마지막에 프리렌이 하는 대사도… 아 울고싶다 진짜
This is an anime where the creator truly loves and you can feel every ounce of emotion through each scene. Truly an beautifully made anime.
When I saw it at first filled me with emotion that I have never felt before. This man/women has managed to capture in full i appreciate that.
It's these types of moments in frieren that make it deserve the place of no. 1 anime
He may not be the mc of this show but he is our legendary hero, he shows that even a side character can make an impact and memorable moments that captures our hearts❤
Now, Himel's sword is "the" hero's sword.
When i knew he didn’t pull out the sword, my appreciation and love for Himmel' character grew to new heights.
I usually never comments on YT videos, but this really struck the strings on my heart. Keep doing what you're doing, this is a masterpiece.
These few anime are what makes me glad that I picked anime. Otherwise I would be unaware of this wonderful world.
Mu goodness, your editing of the words blended into the background and even behind characters/objects is a wondeful expression of thoughfulness. I haven't seen that in an amv/edit for a very long time. Well done for capturing one of the (many) excellent moments of HIMmel.
Bro dropped the hardest himmel edit and thought we won't notice🔥🔥🔥
This is by far can be used to promote the anime really good
He maybe a fake hero with a fake sword but bro was the realist shit.
the whole manga is magnificent. all the main characters, all the situations, all the reactions feel alive and breathing, living their own life, their story and emotions. truly the best thing that happened to manga world
Brother just like how you edited this for Himmel edit the whole series and make it a trailer. This was beautiful.
My guy was so good he ddnt need cheats to beat the game
Screw divine favors
Don't need 'em
to me is more like.
he skipped a key item.
and went straight to the final boss with the basic sword.
This anime and manga are unironically some of the greatest pieces of fiction ever written
that's a bit too much but it does have some awesome scenes
@@cherno8336 how is it not some of the best piece of fiction ever written?
I'm at the part of the manga where you see Himmel actually fight and he's a fucking beast. Dude is Doomguy with a smile and cheery attitude.
he wasn't chosen to be a hero. he stood up and became one
When cope turns to truth.
I think one way to interpret this is that anyone can be a hero, even without being told that you are one
At this point it's the sword that is coping
1 year has passed since this dude dropped this absolute gem and i still cant get over it!
Sword didn't choose Himmel because he knew Himmel didn't need him to be a hero. He was already a true hero.
Really like his calm and smooth voice
“Theres nothing wrong with being a fake hero” that shit hits deep
Dude, you did the best Frieren edit ive ever seen
He wasn’t the chosen hero. He became the hero.
Within a minute they touched both how people romanticize those who admire, and at the same time subverted the Arthurian trope while making the hero look amazing by FAILING the quest.
