Wouldn't that make Himmel more amazing than the actual hero? He didn't need a special sword to win. He simply followed his dream of being a hero to the end. If all kids in his world knew then it would inspire many.

The sword is only meant to be taken when the world needs it most. The world understood that as long as Himmel is alive, the sword would never need to be taken out.

I like to think that it's the hero's sword because you have to be a hero in order to pull it. But because you're already a hero, you don't need to pull the sword because you already accomplished your heroic deeds.

I think you all misunderstood the hero sword , the hero sword are never and no one who have been pull out on stone. It's like to be destined to be a real hero the moment when you touch it. it's clear that the sword are just like a guide for enlighting the person who wanna try to pull out the sword and to decide if they continuing to be hero by choosing selfless act to help other people

This anime really heals me during my grandmother's passing. It's so beautiful and just shows you how life moves on. I don't know what I'd do without having seen this.

It's so important that they went with this message. The things you do, your efforts, and what you achieve are what defines you. Not some random prophecy or tradition or situation. A sword determines the hero that saves the world? Maybe it's because of the sword that the world was saved. But a dude and his crew that save the world - they did it without the sword and they are heroes because that's just who they are. In real life, just keep working on yourself and your goals so that when you finally attain it - you have every reason to be proud of yourself.

I want to watch this anime so bad because the episodes i saw were amazing its just it makes me think of how up there in age my parents are and their health being as it is i bawled my eyes out over himels death and im a grown ass man

Ahh I'm in love with this edit! But fr, Frieren is the main character but Himmel stole the show. He didn't need the hero's sword to defeat the Demon King. He turned the ordinary sword into a Hero's Sword
