Took my test today for the 4th time and I failed with a 143. It was an improvement from last weeks try of 139 but now I have to wait 60 days to take a re test. I’m struggling with remembering percents and can really use some help and some freshening up overall. You are by far the best teacher on YT and your videos have helped me improve dramatically, I just feel like I’m missing a few small things

Love all your videos. They help me teach my GED classes. But remember part is not always the smaller amount (even though this is often the case). If your rate is bigger than 100%, your part will be bigger than the base or whole. For example, 60 is 150% of 40. 60=part, 150% = rate and 40 = base. Your base is always the number that represents 100% value in your problem. Part is "tied" to the rate, meaning whatever the part is, the rate represents that proportion as a percentage. Hope that helps someone.
Great point! Totally spot on. I fell into that phrase since, like you said, most of the GED problems we encountered with tax, tip, discount, etc. stuck heavily to this pattern. But I like the way you explain that the base is always 100%, that's a great frame of reference for those cases where the part is over 100%. Thanks for sharing!

Can this triangle formula be used for this problem? In 2013 a fish was $103.53. In 2014 the fish was $89.91. Determine the percent change in the price of the fish.
You can! The part up top is the two subtracted (103.53 - 89.91), and the whole is the original (103.53). Then you can divide those to get the percent change 👍🏼

I am planning on buying GED Science practice test question from the GED site, but I was wondering if I really need to because there are GED science practice test questions on TH-cam will I find same questions like on YT GED channel? Or no one has bought GED science practice test question and posted it on TH-cam?
I think people have, although technically it's against copyright. I think it's worth it to buy the practice on their website, just use 50off to pay $3.50 instead of $7 though 👍🏼
