The Math section was the last section I needed to obtain my GED and I was dreading it and scared of failing. I took and passed the Language Arts, Science, and Social Study the previous week, passing all of them on the first try also, by using your channel to study. I'm in the same boat... im 59 and going back after leaving the work force in 1988... pass all of the ged tests with no problem, but the math is killing me. math is my last subject, i’ve watched all your videos on how to pass the GED and i’ve passed all of them on my first try, you have really helped me a lot. I’m very bad at math so hopefully this video also helps me out, i haven’t made an appointment for my math GED yet in fear of failing, but i will study as much as i can to finally accomplish something.

@@leangelawynn9974 i wasn’t able to pass it on my first try only cause i was so nervous i doubted myself, i failed by one point which honestly made me mad but when i went back the second time i ignored everything and just trusted my gut. i passed the second time which was a big relief, everyone is different and my experience might not be the same as yours but the best advice i can give you is to just trust yourself, and study lol

I just passed my math test thanks to you i was having serious anxiety before and during the test but I actually ended up passing!! I have failed the math test 4 times - 143 points, was going to take the test this Friday but changed my mind, I passed the other 3 GED test on the first try, the math test is really frustrating because I study, watch videos and just don't pass :-(

Half of this stuff you can plug into the calculator instead of doing a long drawn out problem learn how to use the tx-30 calculator it’ll help a lot with quadratic equations and stuff

If I fail today I’m gonna snap 😂😂 I got a 143 without being in school for decades a 143 again after 5 months of study and a 144 on my last attempt I’ve spent two. Months on geometry and algebra and I feel hopeful 10am is my test time
How did you do? This is exactly the same for me, I got a 143 twice and a 144 the last time. I retake today in a couple of hours. I’m so nervous I passed the other 3 first time

Hi! Thanks for watching and for your question! This is the standard way to solve combination problems. The reason why you do it this way is kind of complicated and this video explains it better than I can th-cam.com/video/wKgiSUnbLxE/w-d-xo.html . For the purposes of the GED test, you don't necessarily need to understand why the formula works, just how to use it. To answer your second question, if n=3, then yes, you'd do 3x2x1. I hope this helps!
@@patronzulfan Someone who took the actual test suggested that you study slope and graphing equations, add and subtract numbers in scientific notation form, combinations and permutations, functions w/tables and word problems, finding the slope, finding the area and circumference of a circle... Gosh I feel bad telling you to study all of this, but it is what I've studied. Just study everything you need to brush up on. No need to study it if you already know it well! Good Luck!

People said that most of the questions on there is also on the actual ged ready test and it’s what I’m studying now! A woman said she passed with a 171 so I’ll have faith in that video! 😆 Just wanted to come back let you know this info cause I know how hard it can be finding good sources!

Parker, How is a person suppose to pass when they have been out of school for over 50 yrs.? I would have to go back to the very begining to get a grasp on the math, it is all foreign to me, never seen it. David Coleman really put the screws to the people when he decided to re write the exam.

For the question on which pairs of decimals should the fraction be between, why would you not just convert the fraction to a decimal? Unrelated, thanks for making these videos. I'm hoping to get my ged in a few months so I'm trying to figure out now how difficult the math will be.

Does anyone know of any ACTUAL websites or study guides that will help me pass? I've been trying to do this stupid test for over a month, I found local classes and they are literally less than useless. I'm sick of wasting my time and money, I'm sick of waiting and waiting and waiting. Are there any ACTUAL, REAL solutions to passing this BS?
I'm 17 nearly 18 and I'm close to finishing my GED practice tests. All I have now is the math practice then I should be good to do the real thing. One problem. I don't like math. I don't do math. You lost me the second you started explaining. I don't know wth a power is or what the little numbers mean above the others. I'm screwed, I know I'm gunna fail it, but I've known that my whole educational life. I can't do division, my body is physically uncomfortable around schooling on top of ADHD. I passed language arts, I passed social studies, I passed science with flying colors, but math is where I fall from my high horse. Don't be like me. I wish everyone luck, and do your absolute best. Even if you feel it isn't good enough.
This test cares more about deviously tricking you with answer choices & throwing smoke bombs in word problems, than actually testing you about solving what actually matters. It’s the most upsetting thing ever. One day I feel like I have it down then the next day it feels like I don’t even know what to do just because of the devious trickery. I just want to enlist in the army man. why do I need this trap of a math test? :(((( … if anyone is willing to offer 1 on 1 tutoring i am willing to pay. Im dirt poor working a full time job at 21 caught in a rent loop, but im willing to pay for the tutoring just to be able to pass this expensive test on the first try. I really want to enlist in the Army. Someone please consider.

I’m studying for the math portion it’s all I have left, I have a question at around the 10:00 mark the question about the cheese combinations, what would happen if the total number of objects was let’s just say 10. Does that mean you’d go 10x9x8x7 and so on? Or are questions like these they only use low numbers such as 4?

I'll tutor you. Post here a problem you can't solve and I'll show you how to do it.
Try to google words for definition, also learn to use the calculator that is a great tool

I have failed the math test 4 times - 143 points, was going to take the test this Friday but changed my mind, I passed the other 3 GED test on the first try, the math test is really frustrating because I study, watch videos and just don't pass :-(

Half of this stuff you can plug into the calculator instead of doing a long drawn out problem learn how to use the tx-30 calculator it’ll help a lot with quadratic equations and stuff

If I fail today I’m gonna snap 😂😂 I got a 143 without being in school for decades a 143 again after 5 months of study and a 144 on my last attempt I’ve spent two. Months on geometry and algebra and I feel hopeful 10am is my test time

Hi! For the combinations question. Why do you have to multiply 4 x 3 x 2 x 1? So if n =3 would I do 3x3x2x1? Please answer I would appreciate it
Hi! Thanks for watching and for your question! This is the standard way to solve combination problems. The reason why you do it this way is kind of complicated and this video explains it better than I can th-cam.com/video/wKgiSUnbLxE/w-d-xo.html . For the purposes of the GED test, you don't necessarily need to understand why the formula works, just how to use it. To answer your second question, if n=3, then yes, you'd do 3x2x1. @@patronzulfan Someone who took the actual test suggested that you study slope and graphing equations, add and subtract numbers in scientific notation form, combinations and permutations, functions w/tables and word problems, finding the slope, finding the area and circumference of a circle...
Gosh I feel bad telling you to study all of this, but it is what I've studied. Just study everything you need to brush up on. No need to study it if you already know it well! Good Luck!

People said that most of the questions on there is also on the actual ged ready test and it’s what I’m studying now!

Parker, How is a person suppose to pass when they have been out of school for over 50 yrs.? I would have to go back to the very begining to get a grasp on the math, it is all foreign to me, never seen it. David Coleman really put the screws to the people when he decided to re write the exam.

For the question on which pairs of decimals should the fraction be between, why would you not just convert the fraction to a decimal? Unrelated, thanks for making these videos. I'm hoping to get my ged in a few months so I'm trying to figure out now how difficult the math will be.

Does anyone know of any ACTUAL websites or study guides that will help me pass? I've been trying to do this stupid test for over a month, I found local classes and they are literally less than useless. I'm sick of wasting my time and money, I'm sick of waiting and waiting and waiting. Are there any ACTUAL, REAL solutions to passing this BS?
I'm 17 nearly 18 and I'm close to finishing my GED practice tests. All I have now is the math practice then I should be good to do the real thing. One problem. I don't like math. I don't do math. You lost me the second you started explaining. I don't know wth a power is or what the little numbers mean above the others. I'm screwed, I know I'm gunna fail it, but I've known that my whole educational life. I can't do division, my body is physically uncomfortable around schooling on top of ADHD. I passed language arts, I passed social studies, I passed science with flying colors, but math is where I fall from my high horse. Don't be like me. I wish everyone luck, and do your absolute best. Even if you feel it isn't good enough.

This test cares more about deviously tricking you with answer choices & throwing smoke bombs in word problems, than actually testing you about solving what actually matters. It’s the most upsetting thing ever. One day I feel like I have it down then the next day it feels like I don’t even know what to do just because of the devious trickery. I just want to enlist in the army man. why do I need this trap of a math test? :((((

I’m studying for the math portion it’s all I have left, I have a question at around the 10:00 mark the question about the cheese combinations, what would happen if the total number of objects was let’s just say 10. Does that mean you’d go 10x9x8x7 and so on? Or are questions like these they only use low numbers such as 4?

A question like this could be any number, not just a low number like 4 (although I highly doubt they'd give you a big number like 800). I hope this helps answer your question.
