I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

I should of died those 2 times but some how something happened to stopped me from dying and if that isnt the lord idkw is. He put contridictions in the Bible. There is no good reason to believe Bible is God's book, and problem of evil shows that God can't know all, be all good and all powerful. He can't even talk to us. If there is creator, the He should feel bad for creating such imperfect world. God wouldn't really need anyone to praise Him. But, human mind with the power of God might want it.

I thought I could change my sinful ways but I failed miserably. Guilt was unbearable, I promised to stop it, but the outcome was the same...one day I got aware of a certain passage of my daily prayer "... so your will be done...". Embarresed to not even realized what exactly I was praying day and night I humbled myself. I thought "I can do nothing on my own... Only through your Grace. Dear Lord, YOUR will be done" My life started changing. Sin I struggled so much reduced it's grip and it got easier on daily basis to change into a new human. The purpose of this is to educate you on the hypocrisy of many. I could go on for days about certain things that have become hot topics and why the interpretations are wrong on most sides, but here's the gist of why I am writing this lesson. If you claim to live your life according to the Bible - follow all of the rules. Do not pick and choose which ones are no longer valid. You do not have that right. If you refuse to follow all of the laws set forth by your so called human God - you are not a follower of your so called human God. You are actually working for his Adversary. Here we go, Holidays You Shouldn't Celebrate Most of the so-called Christian holidays that are celebrated are pagan in origin. They were Pagan feast days. Valentine's Day: Originally a pagan Roman holiday honoring Lupercus, The Hunter of Wolves. This feast was changed to St. Valentine's Day in 496, moving the feast day from February 15 to the 14th. Mother's Day and Father's Day: Ancient Greeks honored the goddess Rhea (wife of Cronus) for three days (some Romans did as well). Christians began to celebrate the Mother Church instead of the goddess, calling the 4th Sunday of Lent 'Mothering Day'. Easter: Sun worshippers honored the goddess Easter or Ishtar. She is an ancient fertility goddess. Supposedly the worshippers covered eggs in the blood of sacrificed infants - the eggs were to hatch on the 25th of December, which is the birthday of Easter's son Tammuz. (Sound familiar?) Halloween: Pagans would dress up as spirits and make offerings to evil spirits to appease them. This tradition was used in many places around the world and there are different traditions which eventually culminated in Halloween. While not technically a Christian holiday, it is still celebrated by millions of mainly Christians.. Christmas: This one is known by most Christians. Quite a few refuse to celebrate the day as they know December 25th is an ancient pagan holiday where Tammuz the Sun God was born. Even the Bible refers to this holiday and the tradition of cookies and milk: The Children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes for the Queen of Heaven (Easter/Ishtar), and to pour out drink offerings to other dieties, that they may provoke Me to anger. (Jeremiah 7:18) So idol worshipping on these days, you're doing exactly what God said NOT to do. Stuff You Should Be KILLED For Doing- I'm not making this up. The following rules are in the Bible and in the same book (Leviticus) where rules about marriage lie. If you are going to follow one - you must follow them all. That includes murdering people that do not follow your religion, attacking cities where the people are not Christian, and killing your wife for divorcing you. Again, I'm not making this up. No mixed fabric in clothing. (Leviticus 19:19) Haircutting and shaving is forbidden. (Leviticus 19:27) Women or men that cheat on spouses should be put to DEATH, along with their lover. (Leviticus 20:10). Sex with a woman who has her period has the punishment of the man and woman being cut off from their people (banished or Death) (Leviticus 20:18) Anyone that practices any type of witchcraft, including psychics, should be KILLED. (Leviticus 20:27) A pastor's (priest's) daughter who is very sexually active, should be BURNED at the stake. (Leviticus 21:9) Disabled people, disfigured people, etc, are NOT to go to the Altar of God (Leviticus 21:17-18) Cursing God or blasphemy is punishable by the whole community STONING the offender. (Leviticus 24:14-16) 16 so that you do not act corruptly and make a graven image for yourselves in the form of ANY figure, the likeness of male or female, 17 the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the sky, 18 the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water below the earth. 19 “And beware not to lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven. But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. No mixed crops in a field (there goes companion planting!), and more. likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness-with good works. Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. (1 Timothy 2:8-15) And said to the servant, “Who is that man, walking in the field to meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master.” So she took her veil and covered herself.(Genesis 24:65) For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head.(1 Corinthians 11:6) Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him, but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering.(1 Corinthians 11:14-15) 7. And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. 8. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you. (Leviticus 11) “Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating pig's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, declares the Lord.(Isaiah 66:17) And the pig, because it parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.(Deuteronomy 14:8) Who sit in tombs, and spend the night in secret places; who eat pig's flesh, and broth of tainted meat is in their vessels;(Isaiah 65:4) The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.(Deuteronomy 18:15, 18) Yet the ONLY hugely known prophet that preaches peace and the importance of monotheism that was taught to prophet Jesus in the original scriptures which have obviously been corrupted and most of it lost, or written by people 70-300yeqrs after Jesus who are basically nobodies who have zero information on..Paul who? John who? Etc , The ONLY known prophet to continue prophet Jesuss message is prophet mohammed. Literally almost cried. Never a practicing Christian. My family wasn't religious. I lived a life of sin in my 20s and early 30s. I had nothing to do with God and Christ. Now, I'm slowly finding my path to belief and God.

Islam reject the trinity because they don’t understand how God can exist as 3 person’s.. If God existed as 1 person just like us humans then God is not a relational being or God is not love because if God existed as one person then before God created the world, who was he speaking to or who was he loving or relating to ? If God exist as one person just like us then he lacks relationship and love.. In truth, God does not need anything outside of himself.. if God needed humans in order to be a relational being then he is not God.. The trinity solves that Dilemma.. God is a relational being because he exist as 3 person’s all in perfect harmony.. God is the definition of love because God exist as 3 and we know God exist as 3 because God is is the definition of love.. 3 person’s is the bare minimum you need for all 3 kinds of relationships.. for self directed relationships you need 1… for others directed relationships then you need 2 people and for communal/community relationships then you need 3 and God has all 3 kinds of relationships all in perfect harmony because God is 1 being existing as 3 person’s..
We can never work our way to heaven, nothing will suffice because we’re sinners. Salvation in Jesus Christ is free for everybody, like God’s love it’s unconditional, we just have to choose to accept it by faith or not.

Sammy Sam God doesn’t send people to Hell, people ultimately make their own choice to not follow God and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior so God gives them what they want which is to be separated from God (Hell). God does not want anyone to go to Hell, but gives people the free will to choose their eternity. God is perfectly just and Holy therefore no evil can be with Him or a part of Him. That is why people that choose to reject Him can not be with Him.

He gave us free will which is the only way we can truly love Him back, and not because He needs our love, but because he wants to share His love with us. The people who dont want His love will just be separated from God. So they will go to hell. Not to be tortured because He wants to torture you, but because that's what happens where there is no God. So you have the free will to follow Jesus and to repent so you dont end up far away from God. But you also have free will to ignore Jesus's love, and from the comment you just posted I can tell that even if you know that Jesus died for you, you still dont care!
I like how this video explained how Christianity states that sin must always be punished and God would not be just if He excused it, even if we were truly sorry or tried to be good. It's like if you broke the law and stood before a judge who issued you a fine and you tried to tell them that you are a good person so he or she should let you go. That would not be fair, but imagine someone you did not know paid the fine for you so you could go free yet justice is still served. How awesome is that?
I am Christian and I 100% believe in God and Jesus. Jesus and God have saved me in times of need. In Christianity, we are forgiven of our sins/ our sins have already been paid for, all we have to do is know we did wrong and pray for forgiveness.

I enjoyed the chanting of the monks much more than the hectoring and hypocrisy of my clergy. I think Gautama really nailed it by identifying dissatisfaction (dukkha) as the cause of the human condition. I can't be a Buddhist though. I don't see any physical evidence for a cycle of rebirth (samsara) so the framework falls apart. It's also the lack of evidence for anything which transmigrates after death which is a secondary reason why Christianity is not for me. There is a main reason but that is beyond the scope of this discussion. Please continue to find happiness in what you have found.

As a Christian, it is no secret that most of us uses this phrase to end a conversation to someone else and that is a huge mistake because the phrase "I pray for you" is meant to take it literally as in "I actually care for you and wish for the best" kind of meaning not in a way where we end the conversation. One of the best arguments on why Christianity is true and not man made is because salvation is centered on grace, eternal life is a free gift. I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

I thought I could change my sinful ways but I failed miserably. Guilt was unbearable, I promised to stop it, but the outcome was the same...one day I got aware of a certain passage of my daily prayer "... so your will be done...". Embarresed to not even realized what exactly I was praying day and night I humbled myself. I thought "I can do nothing on my own... Only through your Grace. Dear Lord, YOUR will be done"
My life started changing. Sin I struggled so much reduced it's grip and it got easier on daily basis to change into a new human. I have a long way to go but I know God will set me free.

What I am going to do today is provide a lesson. Call it a history lesson. Call it a lesson in sins if you truly wish. Unlike many people (of religions and non-religions). The purpose of this is to educate you on the hypocrisy of many.
I could go on for days about certain things that have become hot topics and why the interpretations are wrong on most sides, but here's the gist of why I am writing this lesson. If you claim to live your life according to the Bible - follow all of the rules. Do not pick and choose which ones are no longer valid. You do not have that right. If you refuse to follow all of the laws set forth by your so called human God - you are not a follower of your so called human God. You are actually working for his Adversary.
Here we go,
Holidays You Shouldn't Celebrate
Most of the so-called Christian holidays that are celebrated are pagan in origin. They were Pagan feast days.
Valentine's Day: Originally a pagan Roman holiday honoring Lupercus, The Hunter of Wolves. This feast was changed to St. Valentine's Day in 496, moving the feast day from February 15 to the 14th.
Mother's Day and Father's Day: Ancient Greeks honored the goddess Rhea (wife of Cronus) for three days (some Romans did as well). Christians began to celebrate the Mother Church instead of the goddess, calling the 4th Sunday of Lent 'Mothering Day'.
Easter: Sun worshippers honored the goddess Easter or Ishtar. She is an ancient fertility goddess. Supposedly the worshippers covered eggs in the blood of sacrificed infants - the eggs were to hatch on the 25th of December, which is the birthday of Easter's son Tammuz. (Sound familiar?)
Halloween: Pagans would dress up as spirits and make offerings to evil spirits to appease them. This tradition was used in many places around the world and there are different traditions which eventually culminated in Halloween. While not technically a Christian holiday, it is still celebrated by millions of mainly Christians..
Christmas: This one is known by most Christians. Quite a few refuse to celebrate the day as they know December 25th is an ancient pagan holiday where Tammuz the Sun God was born. Even the Bible refers to this holiday and the tradition of cookies and milk:
The Children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes for the Queen of Heaven (Easter/Ishtar), and to pour out drink offerings to other dieties, that they may provoke Me to anger. (Jeremiah 7:18)
So idol worshipping on these days, you're doing exactly what God said NOT to do.
Stuff You Should Be KILLED For Doing-
I'm not making this up. The following rules are in the Bible and in the same book (Leviticus) where rules about marriage lie. If you are going to follow one - you must follow them all. That includes murdering people that do not follow your religion, attacking cities where the people are not Christian, and killing your wife for divorcing you.

No mixed fabric in clothing. (Leviticus 19:19)
Haircutting and shaving is forbidden. (Leviticus 19:27)
Women or men that cheat on spouses should be put to DEATH, along with their lover. (Leviticus 20:10).
Sex with a woman who has her period has the punishment of the man and woman being cut off from their people (banished or Death) (Leviticus 20:18)
Anyone that practices any type of witchcraft, including psychics, should be KILLED. (Leviticus 20:27)
A pastor's (priest's) daughter who is very sexually active, should be BURNED at the stake. (Leviticus 21:9)
Disabled people, disfigured people, etc, are NOT to go to the Altar of God (Leviticus 21:17-18)
Cursing God or blasphemy is punishable by the whole community STONING the offender. (Leviticus 24:14-16)

There are many more rules such as children cursing their parents - they are to be KILLED. Cattle should not graze with a different type of cattle. No mixed crops in a field (there goes companion planting!), and more.

I like how this video explained how Christianity states that sin must always be punished and God would not be just if He excused it, even if we were truly sorry or tried to be good. It's like if you broke the law and stood before a judge who issued you a fine and you tried to tell them that you are a good person so he or she should let you go. That would not be fair, but imagine someone you did not know paid the fine for you so you could go free yet justice is still served. How awesome is that?

I think Gautama really nailed it by identifying dissatisfaction (dukkha) as the cause of the human condition. I can't be a Buddhist though. I don't see any physical evidence for a cycle of rebirth (samsara) so the framework falls apart. It's also the lack of evidence for anything which transmigrates after death which is a secondary reason why Christianity is not for me. There is a main reason but that is beyond the scope of this discussion. Please continue to find happiness in what you have found.

Yes, it really does. As a Christian, it is no secret that most of us uses this phrase to end a conversation to someone else and that is a huge mistake because the phrase "I pray for you" is meant to take it literally as in "I actually care for you and wish for the best" kind of meaning not in a way where we end the conversation. That is basically Hypocrisy.
