Bruh! The stair tool will get that done 90% quicker and has a wider area of affect plus you can drive it in with more power and it works to stick it to the tack strips. If you are worried about marking the white base boards just get a plastic white one and that will solve the problem. That linoleum knife won’t work as well on older houses where there isn’t space to tuck it in
Using the hook knife to put the carpet on the pins looks like a nice injury waiting to happen D: Have you tried the brick layers bolsters? They're slightly bigger than stair tools more weight bigger surface area works good for me.
It depends on if you are working for stores or selling on your own but residential work empty and ready to go stores are paying $3.50 to $5.00 and if you sell direct you can get $6.00 to $10.00 per yard. It just depends on your approach
A carpet kicker does not stretch carpet in it to help set walls better anyone who uses the carpet kicker on a job should be doing apartments only power stretchers for warranty and best installation
TankTalk, I watch this guy's videos for the entertainment of someone who does it all wrong!!!!!! He's from the Cleveland Ohio area. I've noticed that he does cheap rug and rental or house flips. He would never make it on a million dollar home with a 50ounce rug or better! He is still reverse row cutting his seams!!!! Geees!! I'll bet he doesn't get $4.00 a yard and no extras,, maybe take up!
@stevehamman4465 agreed. I charge $12/yard in michigan. With a 5+ year guarantee of no bubbling or restretch needed. This guy is a chump carpet installer, and I can't even believe this came up in my search for how to install carpet. The sad part is people actually learn from this guy. 😄 🤣
My poorly carpet got sick when it moved in and the edges were cut with too much left over to tuck in, and not enough to bend back and re-cut straight. What's the solution to remedy? The carpet doctor wasn't a real carpet doctor 😥
@@MatthewML201 my jobs are perfect my mate, I get that people need to use them but people who’ve been doing it for as long as they can remember can get a perfect job without one
Yes because when your installer it doesn’t matter what tools you have if you don’t have two packs of smokes and a gallon of coffee to get through the day

Isn’t bolster much more convenient to tuck the carpet

You need a power stretcher to get proper stretch
You most certainly do not
@@oscarhayward2111 CRI standards beg to differ. Stop cheaping out on your jobs and buy a proper power stretcher!

Total hacker
He is extremely helpful for me to sell my services. I pull up one of his videos and show potential customers who not to hire for a good installation.
