You should try this out - documents by readdle.. and organise your images as you like.. great feature for free / you can live without the paid ones.. thanks me later 😉👍🏼
At 77 years old with poor eye sight it was a nightmare until i went to utube and found your video. Apple did nothing to show me how to even find my photos. They need to hire you because you made sense to all of it in a few minutes.
it sounds clunky and a nightmare, I still miss the simplicity of the samsung gallery. just simple folders I can physically move photos around in. Apple could solve half the problems if I could have a album view of just photos that haven't been tagged or sorted. Kinda like the camera folder in the samsung gallery, once I move my photos to an album folder they are gone out of the camera folder.
I used to work for Apple , USE TO, they have gotten worse and worse of the years and have a bunch of freaks out west in headquarters making these changes and I mean freaks! Even the people in the stores are not from this planet and seem to live in an alternate universe. Apple makes a good product but they keep screwing up with shitty designs and can’t leave shit alone, if it’s working don’t touch it, but you can tell them all you want with feedback but it doesn’t mean a hill of beans because they just do what they want anyway. BTW! As an insider, they don’t even read those feedbacks , some tool pulls out a dam pie chart that is rigged and they have endless meetings and debates, but never ever really change anything based on feedback. And closing, I am so glad I did not update to 18
Can stand behind this! Used to work at apples flagship store here in Stockholm, Sweden. Those people are NUTS, I worked there for about 3 years cause i desperately needed the money, if the pay wasn’t as good as it was I would have left long time before.
The worst part about this design is that I can no longer easily switch between 2 sets of photos. Before I would have one photo open in my library section and another photo open in my albums section and I can easily switch between the 2 without having to scroll between one and the other. Same thing goes with viewing photos in the camera roll alongside those which are in the hidden or deleted album. Now since I gotta scroll down to view albums, everytime I want to switch between these 2 photos I have to scroll down to the albums section then scroll all the way back up and re-find the photo in the main section and do this over and over again
Apple does this sometimes. I remember I had Albums created by apps like Pinterest and some wallpapers apps. Android does this very well. In the Gallery app there are albums for Reddit, Pinterest, Downloads (from browser), and so on.
just want our old "camera roll" back, now all the imported photos in albums synced and the camera roll photos are all messed up, why did Apple create problems for loyal customers? thousands of photos are now in a mess

We used to have 'Years, Months, DAYS, All', but now the days view is gone! That was the best way to browse photos. 'Recent days' seems to have replaced it, but it’s not the same: 1) I want to access the days view starting from Year, then Month, down to a specific day - not starting from today. 2) The vertical scrolling in the Days view was perfect. In Recent Days, the vertical scrolling is limited to just that day. You have to scroll horizontally to move to the previous or next day. I hate it.
The uniform bottom navigation was THE single best solution to the ios ui design that made it so easy to use with just one thumb … how could you possibly scrap that. Instead you further complicated the already existing mess with left/right/up/down labyriths. It‘s now like finding the exit in an IKEA… and grouping 4 list elements in horizontical sets that you could otherwise just scroll down easily is just such an extra nonsensical decission!
I'm NOT BETA TESTING BUT MY opinion about the Photos app is that Apple NEEDS TO ALLOW US TO RENAME pics NATIVELY IN THE PHOTOS APP One way I found it doable is to MOVE photos which you WANT TO RENAME to your PC hard drive RENAME then and move them BACK TO iCloud and you see the RENAMED pics We SHOULD NOT HAVE TO JUMP THROUGH THOSE HOOPS just to RENAME pics

The same was with the new Safari in iOS 15 - it was completely unusable on beta... Fortunately they heard people and it became very nice in the final version.
Thank you for this heads up. I teach IPhone Photography to seniors and this new version of photos will be a disaster! I preach photos over using Lightroom or other apps, now this change will make advocating for the use of the photos app that much harder.
The new IOS photos app is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE !!!!! The former photos app was perfect, I am beyond pissed off at Apple for fixing something that was not broken. The Ken Burns effect slideshow at the top of each album just makes me crazy. I hate it. I absolutely hate it. Is there any way to turn that damn thing off? When I tap on an album, I want to see the pictures in the album. That’s what I want to fill the screen. I don’t need to see some cute little cross faded slideshow. There has to be a way to turn that off because it’s idiotic.
Please let Apple know that they have to get rid of the automatic blurring of my wallpaper images. I hate it. My pictures automatically blur at the top. I want to see the whole picture on my phone screen without any blurring. Thanks.

Anyone on here know how to stop photos from being downloaded from the cloud. My phone will automatically start doing this and then I can’t stop it. There is no place to stop it like the app before and it runs down my battery. Anyone have any ideas?
When will they learn to stop messing with the camera roll? Just leave it there and make it easy to find. That’s it. It can’t be that hard for professional app developers to figure out.

I just thought you should know that if you publish a video and select notify subscribers, but most of your subscribers are not active anymore, the algorithm won't suggest the video because of low engagement among the notified people. So the video can't really gain views. Just so you know. Because I think your videos hold large potential that doesn’t match the view count

Who ever designed the new photos app should be reassigned to the grounds keeping department, that person or person’s could take care of watering the plants, mowing the lawns and trimming the bushes at the Apple Park. The default layout and organization of the iOS18 Photos app is infuriating. But then I discovered I can customize it. Now it’s way more useful and pleasant to use than the old ever was. So take a few minutes to customize it.
I really like the new Photo design layout and interface. Apple really needs to bring keywords to the AiOS 18 and better duplication detection and face detection too. But I love how customizable the iPhone and iPad photos apps are. Mac OS Photos is far behind.
They've made it easier to find in the latest beta (which is likely what will ship in iOS 18). Now, when you save an image, you'll see "Recently Saved" inside the "Recent Days" section. Not quite as intuitive as I would have hoped, but it's a little more discoverable.

They changed their mind with Safari address bar in ios 15, as far as i remember, and gave the option to move it to the top of the screen as it used to be, during the beta testing. All was because of the negative feedback they received back then.
Honestly IOS 18s new photos app isn’t horrible it just needs work. I think this will universally improve the experience, Apple should add an option in the settings app for Compact Photos and Regular Photos I hope people can invsion my idea
I love the new design, its far more simple and love that you could customize what you want to see and i agree with all the changes you want…thumbs up from me! 👍 EDIT: and better yet let us completely customize what we want to see for the media types and utilities tab…that would be fantastic!

Why do people complain so much about everything these days. 80%+ video suggestions on my TH-cam page about tech are videos of people complaining about meaningless reasons. I absolutely love the photos app, the ability to customize and the recent days view. Also, the design was in beta when this video was made and most of these complaints were solved with updates and that’s why it’s called Beta.

Sucks for me…😔 I updated to 18 not knowing and now I live with such a horrible app. I find myself using it less and less. It’s truly frustrating

Photos app is a disgrace, Can’t stand the swipe down menu now either with multiple pages it’s just messy. All in all, worst update able has ever done.
Video playback is horrible and doesn’t use full screen.
It goes against Apple’s simplicity which was beautiful, what a shame.

Landscape pictures aren’t full screen anymore. It’s a square in the middle of the screen. This is the worst thing I’ve seen in a pictures library.
