coz big one such as the wallpaper guy is too busy taking advantage of non tech ppl to pay 50 bucks a year for wallpaper or they dont need to coz their fans will be happy to see them talking in front of a camera .
The Photo app sucks now, There was no need to change it. Apple just did it because they had absolutely no idea what too add for iOS 18. This company is becoming a gimmick now. The AI feature is already on every Android. "Yesterday's technology for tomorrow's prices"
I’m glad someone has mentioned this, cause I was going crazy over this update! I primarily use 100% screenshots of my videos for photos, and this completely screwed up my process. I own both the 14 and 16 pro maxes … I’m so irritated by the unfinished releases of hardware and software 😠
I totally agree iOS 18 is a mess especially the photo app I recorded a video on my 16 Pro Max when I played the back there was no sound and on top of that video I made was like two minutes long and all of a sudden it loop I would like to know if anybody else has these issues in how can it be fixed?

talking about screenshot, I find now when you take a screenshot, sometimes you dont see anything but its in the album also when you save a photo, there is a delay when you see it in the photo app

100% asinine video editing now. I totally agree. I scroll frame by frame through videos to do screenshots all the time and it’s impossible now. It’s got to be a bug.

Thank you so much for making this video! Added a reply to your community post. Please be sure to update us all if they get back to you or if you come across a workaround! I've even tried other local video players in the app store (VLC and Infuse). Neither of them support both zooming freely into a video while also being able to scrub frame by frame. Insane!

I like to edit videos quiet often, so when i went to crop my videos, it wouldn’t play, or if i import those cropped videos into my editing app, it wouldn’t load, but if I reverse the cropped video it would go right back to working. This is truly frustrating as i crop my videos before hand so my quality is good. I hope they fix this immediately.

The videos open up in a small window and the scroll bar is difficult to use. I liked having the thumbnails at the bottom to easily scroll through and find parts of my video and to more easily trim them. Also when zooming in on a video I cannot watch the full video, it only shows me 1 second. I want to also be able to watch videos frame by frame without it being in a small window. Please Apple revert back to how videos were before iOS 18! It’s impossible to enjoy video playback with this update. 1) Starting with the play/pause location, not friendly with your hand; 2) How are we supposed to back and forth just a few frames? I was thinking there is a hidden button somewhere to enable the old playback, because that’s waaay absurd. 3) Video playback with buttons enable makes video playback smaller, that’s ridiculous

Man I’ve just reported this to Apple, I have the same frustration and couldn’t find anyone else with the same issue. It’s the same if you make a video Landscape, the video zooms out. And if you want to edit it, it zooms out further! Great video man 👍🏼

They really fk it up. Every few seconds you open photos it snaps back to half library and photos view Every portrait photos videos go back to cropped view while scrolling even hiding controls Folders now have default video montage and you have to hide it

Same problem! 🤯 I’m a filmmaker and I’m using my iphone 15PM to make camera tests and this update completely destroyed the playback experience to the point I’m really considering of selling my 15 PM and buying a Pixel.

Yup that video part looks so android ish, they should make it how it was before. and the pictures at 16:9 look smaller also when you tap on them just like the videos and also when you're editing it gets even smaller and you have to zoom in. that is one thing i despise about the picture app

my new 16 pro is not recording audio in any videos. trust me its the recording, old videos in Photos play with audio, and the new videos don't play audio on other phones either.

idk what they were cooking but the photos app burnt :/ edit: the scrubber also bugs out with videos over 30 seconds, and beyond that it just gets worse (around 40-55 seconds is where i found the most buggy looking stuff) anything that is 1min20 or looks the same, longest video ive tested is 2min43 and if you go from one video to the next the scrubbing works fine... until you play the video and try scrubbing again

Whoever rolled this out and approved it should be immediately fired. No one has even mentioned how you can barely tell what part of the video you are on via the scrubber because you are looking at a white bar against a slightly off white bar to tell what part has past vs upcoming. Pleased to say that this bug with the scrolling of the video when zoomed is fixed in 18.1, but the timeline scrubbing with thumbnails is only available when using the "edit" feature.
Absolutely horrible news. We need the timeline scrubbing with thumbnails without having to go into edit, ugh!!!! It’s embarrassing that Apple fouled this up so bad. The most irritating thing for me is not being able to scroll frame by frame in a native full screen view! We shouldn’t have to accept workarounds for the richest US company in history.
@@brentgrab Hmm I forgot to mention (because it felt kind of instinctive) that when you scrub, the FULL video scrubs too.. I honestly think it's fine. However, I can understand that if it's a long video, then it would be nice to know where in the video you're trying to scrub to in advance.

If that’s the case I’ve lost all faith in Apple. On a side note, I have had issues with all their laptops of recent years where they keep making the keys thinner and thinner and it’s given me arthritis in my finger joints. I had to buy an external keyboard. I saw on forums with a few other people having the same issue. The 2014 and prior keyboards I could type so fast on. These new ones are violent on my finger tips and joints. None of this things are happening to me. None. If you want to make it full screen tap the video once. The progress bar works perfect and actually it’s better than it was, I always had problem with it and I was changing to other videos.
@@AdamKowalski-hb2db having to have to tap the video each time to get full screen is asinine and a decline in usability and practicality. Also when clicking to watch it full screen you CANNOT view it frame by frame. The second you want to pause the video or want it frame by frame (scrolling with the scrubber) it reverts to the tiny size. Whatever team designed and rolled this out should be fired.

I’m sure there are tens of thousands of infuriated people and they just “deal with it”. We are the pioneers and difference makers proactively trying to fix things. It’s impossible to enjoy video playback with this update. 1) Starting with the play/pause location, not friendly with your hand; 2) How are we supposed to back and forth just a few frames? I was thinking there is a hidden button somewhere to enable the old playback, because that’s waaay absurd.
3) Video playback with buttons enable makes video playback smaller, that’s ridiculous

Man I’ve just reported this to Apple, I have the same frustration and couldn’t find anyone else with the same issue.
It’s the same if you make a video Landscape, the video zooms out. And if you want to edit it, it zooms out further!

Every few seconds you open photos it snaps back to half library and photos view
Every portrait photos videos go back to cropped view while scrolling even hiding controls
Folders now have default video montage and you have to hide it

Same problem! 🤯 I’m a filmmaker and I’m using my iphone 15PM to make camera tests and this update completely destroyed the playback experience to the point I’m really considering of selling my 15 PM and buying a Pixel.

Yup that video part looks so android ish, they should make it how it was before. and the pictures at 16:9 look smaller also when you tap on them just like the videos and also when you're editing it gets even smaller and you have to zoom in. that is one thing i despise about the picture app

my new 16 pro is not recording audio in any videos. trust me its the recording, old videos in Photos play with audio, and the new videos don't play audio on other phones either.

idk what they were cooking but the photos app burnt :/
edit: the scrubber also bugs out with videos over 30 seconds, and beyond that it just gets worse (around 40-55 seconds is where i found the most buggy looking stuff)
anything that is 1min20 or looks the same, longest video ive tested is 2min43
and if you go from one video to the next the scrubbing works fine... until you play the video and try scrubbing again

Whoever rolled this out and approved it should be immediately fired. Apple and their employees need more accountability to prevent stupid incidents like this.

No one has even mentioned how you can barely tell what part of the video you are on via the scrubber because you are looking at a white bar against a slightly off white bar to tell what part has past vs upcoming. Pleased to say that this bug with the scrolling of the video when zoomed is fixed in 18.1, but the timeline scrubbing with thumbnails is only available when using the "edit" feature.
Absolutely horrible news. We need the timeline scrubbing with thumbnails without having to go into edit, ugh!!!! It’s embarrassing that Apple fouled this up so bad. The most irritating thing for me is not being able to scroll frame by frame in a native full screen view! We shouldn’t have to accept workarounds for the richest US company in history.

Everywhere I’ve been reading people are writing about how bad they dislike the iPhone 16 and no one in their right mind can deny that iOS 18 is a massive downgrade. The idiots on the phone at Apple Support tried telling me with a straight face that iOS Photos and the new video “features” are as designed and that it’s not bugs. If that’s the case I’ve lost all faith in Apple.
On a side note, I have had issues with all their laptops of recent years where they keep making the keys thinner and thinner and it’s given me arthritis in my finger joints. I had to buy an external keyboard. I saw on forums with a few other people having the same issue. The 2014 and prior keyboards I could type so fast on. These new ones are violent on my finger tips and joints.

None of this things are happening to me. None. If you want to make it full screen tap the video once. The progress bar works perfect and actually it’s better than it was, I always had problem with it and I was changing to other videos.
@@AdamKowalski-hb2db having to have to tap the video each time to get full screen is asinine and a decline in usability and practicality. Also when clicking to watch it full screen you CANNOT view it frame by frame. The second you want to pause the video or want it frame by frame (scrolling with the scrubber) it reverts to the tiny size. Whatever team designed and rolled this out should be fired.
@@brentgrab I can watch it frame by frame no problem on my site. And having problem with taping to full screen is funny it’s such a nuance 😅 I’m on public iOS 18 iPhone 12 mini. Maybe you’re on beta or something? Or you’ve got not the same version as me I’m from Europe maybe that’s the case? I dunno 🤷 it looks like we have two different iOS 18’s 😂
