Initially this 'mamak mee' we called it in Penang was started by his grandfather 18:39. It was in a different location and was in Pulau Tikus coffee shop. When I was little my Mum used to bring me there, I'm a vegetarian his grandfather used to wash the wok clean before cooking a vegetarian version for me. His grandfather's 'mamak mee' is in comparable, he was a legend of 'mamak mee'. It's nice to see his grandson has taken over his legacy. Mamak mee goes best with black coffee🤩

As a Malaysian I felt left behind as I had not even tried eating at those fabulous places that U choose Mark. Surely I would try some of those yummy foods for my next Penang trip.
Yes, nasi kandar is definitely delicious, but I can only eat it a maximum of once a month due to the carbs and calories in one serving. It reminds me of Hameediyah at Bukit Bintang...yum! The red mee sotong, however, has too much artificial red coloring in it, which didn't really agree with my palate back then.

I think the nasi kandar in this video is the best out of the 5 for me. there are many other versions of nasi kandar in your other videos, but this version looks most delicious and their unique with toppings of fried shallots/onions! I also like the onion omelette and fish curry.

Mark, in my opinion you should have gone to another Nasi Kandar joint...Nasi Kandar Restaurant Tajuddin Husain. It is just across the street from Nasi Kandar Imigresen, down an alley and slightly to the left. I personally think it has far superior tasting curries. If you like your curries thick and spicy then this is the place for you. If you are still in Penang and not yet sick of eating Nasi Kandar then have a go before returning home. You won't be disappointed..trust me.

When I visited steel foundries in India years ago, we were invited to a local restaurant. My colleague asked why so much onion was used. The answer: "That is against food poisoning but you should not be afraid" :-)
The cheese on the roti became westernize. It spoilt the whole purpose of eating the traditional roti canai. If I were to look for roti special, I would rather look for "Roti Sarang Burung". If translate into English, it is called Bird's Nest Roti because it looks like a bird's nest.
