I'm confused. The installation instructions specifically say not to use pipe dope on threaded fittings and only use tape. The installer clearly put some kind of cement or sealer over the tape. What's the real answer?
Hi there, in the video and the manual, we do recommend using PVC Primer and glue for the slip fittings. The video does show this being applied to the fittings. The manual itself also has the NSF Certified PVC primer and glue mentioned.
@@aquasana I’m not referring to the slip fittings. I’m talking about the threaded parts that are being threaded into the tank. The installer uses tape, and some kind of pipe compound on top of the tape in the video, which page 5 of the manual specifically says not to do. Quote from the manual: "DO NOT use pipe dope or PVC primer/glue on threaded fittings. Exposure to these compounds will damage nipples causing leaks."
wich thank shoul we flush? whole house water filter, or salt free water conditioner, or both?

Whole house water filter goes before Salt-Free Conditioner.

Thanks Aquasana. So my city water first enters into whose house water filter then salt-free conditioner.
So for older models Salt-Free goes before whole house water filter and this video is for older models?

Yes, we previously recommended to install the system that way however, moving forward, we recommend placing the Rhino tank and then the conditioner.

The instructions on the cement can say to put a thin coat on the inside of the fitting, but not too much.
