@@water_estore yep it’s always a good idea. You shouldn’t have to worry about pump burn out because of the cut out switch which is now functioning awesome because I’m using filtered water to the switch. It’s the main advantage of prefilter to the pressure tank and switch. But, your right that is something you learn living on a acreage look after your water system and it will look after you. It’s way better I think to have a pre filter with a whole house filter. I didn’t have it before and my water was brown and there was even pipe scale in the water. I bought a prefilter and iron filter but I still had crappy water. Now it’s pre filter, whole house filter, iron filter. I also use chlorine tablets down a shallow well even though I had the water tested because well water is a wild card. Eventually I am planning on a RO system because of its purity.maybe when I win the lottery

I just bought a home with a well and this really helped me understand how the filtration works. I am wondering though, I have a family of 3 including me, and a 46 ft well that holds 70 gallons of water, will that be enough to use and not run dry?
Great video, i have an iron filter and water softener that was installed last fall and still seem to have some issues with staining. Watched your videos and will do the regen on both today before filling up the hot tub. What do you recommend for turning water off when away from the cabin?
I would have your water tested both before and after the equipment for iron, tannins and hardness. This video addresses what to do when away th-cam.com/users/shortsZAVzIkbzY4k
Great question! The problem with having it before is that if it ever became partially clogged the pressure switch would signal the pump to keep pumping and burn out your pump. Not recommended.
Thank you for the video. How come the a sediment filter isn't installed before the bladder tank? I had to keep replacing the pressure gauge on mine. I have recently figured out that I can just clean it out instead.
We do not install anything before the bladder tank because if that became clogged, you would burn out your pump. You are far better off to flush out your tank periodically, like once per year.
Hi Gary the Water Guy, thanks for a great video. Would you please explain how a whole house filter without backwashing works? Where do sediments go? Thank you.
@@water_estore thanks for a response. So, when a water filter manufacture claims that their whole house filter will last one million gallons meaning we are good for one million gallon of water? How do I check the water without sophisticated devices. Thanks Gary.
Hello Gary great video and very helpful. If I add a water filtration system to my well water that is operated on a pump, will the pressure lower and if it does how do I fix to get better pressure.
We have installed thousands of these and have never had a complaint regarding lower pressure. They do lower the pressure but you will not notice any difference.
Great question. It really depends on your water source ( city, well or lake water) your water chemistry (test results) and what concerns you about your water. Email us at info@waterestore.com and we can help
Interesting you should mention that. I can't honestly remember the last time we installed one of those, likely 10+ years and have not had a concern whatsoever.
Enjoying all this information! New to being on a well. We did have a new well pump installed (our system was mainly original 1979) Recently, we also added an iron eater air filtration system (before this, the water smelled so bad all the time) & there is an existing softener. As of a month ago, I am doing hair at the house & noticing a faint smell again. While watching this, I don’t think we have a spin down. Would that be in-line with the filter & softner??
Gary thank you for this awesome video, but I have an important question: How do I maintain high water pressure after all this filtration? With the "pressure tank" being all the way back at step B, surely the water must come out as a trickle by time it reaches the home? What am I missing in this equation that can allow me to have water blast from my faucet? An additional clean water pressure tank after step I? THANK YOU I hope you respond!
Great question, but no there are no copncerns about flow whatsoever. If you have good flow before, you will have good flow afterwards. Keep in mind that you likely will not need all of this, it depends on your water. We have been installing systems for over 20 years and no one has ever had a concern about flow after the installation was complete.
This is a great video! Though my question is if a water softener goes before or after the uv light since the source comes from surface water that hasn't been treated by a municipal water plant? I bought a Rheem water softener and in the instructions they mention that if the water source could contain microbials (bacteria) they don't recommend to install it before a proper disinfection such as chlorine or uv light, so this is my dought. I know that well water is different than surface water in different aspects though.
Typically surface or lake water is soft so you don’t need a water softener. This video of mine talks about lake water th-cam.com/video/ml-oMaCplaE/w-d-xo.html

Super helpful! Thank you! I am having water in my brine tank in between regeneration cycles. (Eco-Water EEC 1502R40 Model) I replaced sediment filter, cleaned brine tank (and removed the salt sludge) replaced the Venturi valve and cleaned the float. Still, the water is injected into the brine tank but not removed from it. Any suggestions?
First, check to see if you have a pre fill or post fill water softener. See this video th-cam.com/video/GedMruLfXhY/w-d-xo.html It it is post fill, that is normal, if it is pre fill check to see if it is drawing all of the water out of the brine tank during the brine cycle.
The video is very hard to listen to with all the sound effects and changes in volume. Do you have a PDF document of what was discussed for easier consumption?
Can you place a filter between the Well and Pressure Tank? I believe that my tank gave out prematurely due to unfiltered water entering the most sensitive part of the system which is the badder. Thanks for the info in advance.
This video will help you with drain connection opotions th-cam.com/video/k9TSeZcTFuA/w-d-xo.html The amount of water depends on what type of system and what size. Some are as low as 13 gallons, some as high as 65 gallons.

*My farm has almost all of these filters for our system, but we also collect rain water as a primary source before our well is used.* The only thing hooked up to our well all the time are our outdoor hose spigots. Everything else goes through these filters before use within the house. My neighbor ratted me out for rainwater harvesting, and now I am in a dispute because I will not allow any Gov't officials on my property to inspect. They actually flew over my farm and took pictures from the airplane, and are suing me for access. *The judge has thus far denied their warrant applications, and I am currently in the process of burying all of my rainwater tanks & lines. I have also decided to construct a 'green wall' to screen out my neighbor (which also blocks her 'mountain views'), and along the road frontage.* LAND OF THE FEE AND HOME OF THE SLAVE

Softener resin typically filters down to about 30 microns. Prefilters like this 7525 are a good choice waterestore.com/products/pentek-filter-20-big-blue-sediment-dgd-7525-20bb-155356-43 and filters just before the UV need to be 5 micron.
Great video Gary. I am installing a complete water system in our home in Baja Mexico. The water supply mostly is from local wells that have become salty recently due to the extreme drought. I plan on adding a pressure tank prior to any filtration, etc. The water is supplied by a pressurized pipe so a well pump is not required. Will the pressure tank and pressurized supply water be enough to supply water to the faucets or do you think I need to add a pump?
Ok Gary, what do you say about 180ft well iron filter and softener. All elements in the tanks (plural) changed, chlorine level at tap water between. .5 and 1. The water comes out tap clear even in cup test. When i add a teaspon of bleach to the water in the cup, the water turns light brown. You say? No one has been able to address this. Do I more equipment?
Where in the lineup would you put the arsenic tank? We have all of this and I was told today that whomever installed doesn’t have it all properly setup.
Right now they have us setup where it goes from the pump, to the sediment filter, arsenic, water softener, then the iron/sulfur and lastly the UV. From my understanding the iron/sulfur should come before the water softener- am I understanding your video? They told me I was wrong since it gets the sulfur smell out it can come after the softener. We have had issues with this company and I want to make sure this is setup correctly. Thank you- your video was great!
Excellent video with great information. Thanks. Would you recommend a chlorinator for the well water system? Few months ago, I installed a sediment filter, then an auto backwashing sediment filter, then an iron filter, then a water softener, but the water deteriorated recently, with a small bad taste and smell. I know it is hard to know without a water test, but Should I try a chlorinator? Because the water has deteriorated, do you think I need to do some type of maintenance?
Yes, if it has deteriorated, I woudl look at maintenance first. I hate chlorination systems becasue they are complex, need a lot of maintenance and expensive. Plus, where does that chlorine end up? In your septic.
Here's a question about the reverse osmosis system for removing sodium and bacteria. Our summer cottage wasn't winterized, and it gets way below freezing in the winter - is that going to ruin the filter membrane every year? How much is it to replace that? Is the filter one piece of the item, or does the whole thing need to be replaced each year? Also, I've noticed orange staining primarily in one bathroom, and not much elsewhere - is it possibly due to the pipes being some specific material in that room, and rusting more than it should? I think there are copper pipes in the bathroom?
You remove the system (easily) and take it somewhere warm for the winter. All the filters are replaceable here waterestore.com/products/water-saver-75-combo-pack-4-filters-replacement-filters-plus-membrane yes, likely something to do with the plumbing in that area.
If my tank is 40psi pressure tank. And the pipes are 3/4” after the tank. How much would these filters slow down the pressure? So if I was washing the car. The water isn’t going to dribble out is it? Anther good video 👍👍👍
No problem at all. I have pretty much all you see in this video since my well water is pretty bad but I still have great flow. Thanks for watching and please share video with friends and family.

Great Video, now a subscriber! I am looking at an UP/Down flow calcite filter. Will this work for me to increase my ph levels? And is there any downside to using this type of acid filtration as opposed to a regen version? Thx!
It will work but I prefer the regen version as it mixes up the media when it backwashes so it lasts longer waterestore.com/products/ws-neutralizing-filter-calcite-1-0-cubic-foot
I'm exhausted after watching this. Do the last two filters remove the salt that the softener puts into your water? I don't like cooking or drinking salt pellets.
Gary I need some help with a system please. We had this water treatment unit installed about 15 years ago. It has proven very effective but as part of a rebuild of the house the equipment was disconnected and we can't locate the information on the system that we need for set up. The Iron removal unit was a WATERITE INC Mod. # is obscured but might be P339-10A TC 11. It has a control head that resembles one you use in your video but the place where that unit has an air intake filter that you remove during the refresh process is fitted with a removable blanking plug and it appears the air for the unit is being introduced by a venturi type fitting in the well supply line. Between that device and the unit there is a Braukmann automatic air vent but it is rotated to the off position so not sure it does anything. I’m concerned about that venturi device as a way to introduce the air needed as it represents a significant obstruction to the flow from the pump and must increase the head the pump is working against quite a bit. Could the plug be removed from the control head and an air filter intake unit put in and if so would it likely continue to work as well as it has?
Great question, you have an "old school" air birm system. You are correct that they restrict the flow to create a venturi affect to draw in air to oxidize the iron out of the water. See th-cam.com/video/sx_j7W9z9FQ/w-d-xo.html Unfortunately your valve and your tank will not woirk with the air draw system. I had the same situation in my house and had to repalce the whole system. See th-cam.com/video/eZLeqXhbrAY/w-d-xo.html
Hi Gary, we have well water just in our irrigation system. We want to eliminate the constant stain on the driveway, walkway, and porch. What type of filtration do we need?

Just had my water tested as we have had some discolloration and staining. Thought it was from Iron but thinking now it is sediement. What solutions would be appropriate to add? Really your question is beyond the scope of this channel. But, You'll need to get your water tested to find out what treatment process you need to make the water the desired level of quality for bottling.
Hi Gary, I plan to put all the water filters in the water well house. I'm just confused about the Reverse Osmosis filter, does that go connected to the line going to the refrigerator only? Or can it be placed on the water well house?
It goes to the fridge and a dedicated faucet at the kitchen sink which is why they are typically installed either under the sink or nearby in the basement or crawl space.
Hi Gary! Great Video! I'm on a well, with 5000 gal holding tank and pressure tank. We have a tiny house rental unit near the well/tank that I would like softened as well as our main house up the hill a ways. Softening the water at the well location would mean utilizing the soft water for the house, pool and yard irrigation. (all suffer from scale build up). Is this too much for a softening system to handle?
Just bought a 1950s house on well water. Mitlon came through and ripped all the plumbing and tank house 900' from the house... Putting everything back, I have no original ddiagram. Pictures from inspection look like the flow from well went like this: well with pump and bladded, then to a big solid bradd spin off filter, then to a Pentair basic filter, to the salt tank/holder, then into a 400 gallon holding take w/ float, then to the pump (50 psi) which then goes to a sulfer tank filter, then to 3 fine pentair filters, to house. My question is, it looks like a sulfer/tannin filter is before the salt filter? I am thinking they had it backwards than your diagram. The first inline filter is now black, it was white when I replaced it, so it seems like something is backwards now? Not sure if I can email a diagram to you, first time working with well water filtration and don't want to kill my family, lol.... Thanks
It sounds like it might be okay, that first filter is used to do the heavy lifting for dirt. It will just need replacement more often. You can always email us at info@waterestore.com
The spindown drains into a bucket but the Automatic backwashing filter, iron filetr water softener and tannin filters all need drains. They can connect to any drain like a sump pump, or directly to your aBS drain lines above the the system under the floor above.
I realize this is showing all possible filters but would you place a cartridge sediment filter before your backwashing filters? Since most home owners are not the best at keeping up with the maintenance of their filters, aren't you worried about them effecting flow rate during a backwash of one of your backwashing filters? Doesn't your Iron filter also remove sediments? Why no Chlorine/Hydrogen Peroxide injection? Don't you want to kill the bacteria before it passes through the filters so the slimly byproducts does not coat the medias inside the filters? That would make the costly replacement of UV bulbs redundant. I know it's residual income, but wouldn't killing the bacteria pre-filter be more effective and help oxidize so the filter can preform better? How well do the piston seals and spacers of those Clack valves hold up to well water?
No, I don't recommend a sediment cartridge filter before the Automatic backwashing filter. That's the backwashing filters job. Yes, iron filters can remove some sediment depending on the media. I don't like chemical injection systems, those chemicals will end up in your septic system. If you have bacterial iron you would need a chemcial injection system but that is about the only time I would recommend them. Yes, with a chemcial injection system you would not need the UV system, but chemical injection systems also require their fair share of maintenance. Not all filters are compatible with the chemicals used for chemical injection. Clack pistons and seals hold up extremely well to well water. We have been using them on well water for over 20 years.
If I wasn't planning on drinking the water and just needing the water to be good enough to put into an RV holding tank for use with sink for cleaning and toilet. Would I only need the sedament filter and uv filter? Or would I need more?
Yes, an automatic backwashing filter like this would be a great solution. waterestore.com/products/hum-auto-backwashable-sediment-filter-1-5-cubic-foot
It depends on numerous factors like how much water you use and if there are any chemcials in the water that the carbon is removing. But for a well water application, typically about 10-15 years.
Here in the US, any water testing company you recommend to test water? I am on city water and seems like build up of calcium- white paste on a lot of the shower heads along with a red/pink scale in the shower or toilets if not cleaned often. What do you recommend I test for first?
What I have found is the more filter you need to get good water, the lower your water pressure is going to be. Is there a way to install a large water holding tank installed after all the filtration systems, that would automatically stay filled, so a pump could work with this supply to supply water to your house, and keep water pressure up. I have tried a pump but it seems to not be able to pull water through the filter fast enough, basically captivates for lack of water. Do you know of any videos explaining how to do this?
As mentioned in this video almost no one would need all of the equipment shown. Yes, the more equipment you have it can affect the water pressure but as long as the equipment is in good shape the affect is minimal. Yes, you can install a storage tand with a repressurization pump like thiswaterestore.com/products/walrus-hq800h-self-priming-booster-pump-1-hp to pressurize water for the whole house. This video talks about it at the 3 minute mark. th-cam.com/video/SCANIla-NAU/w-d-xo.html

I have well water and a Viqua UV light as well. The AWP40B-V is cheap enough that it wouldn't bother me to add a another one. Not sure why the water treatment company only included one. Thank you.

Hi Gary I have arsenic in my water (3 & 5). Where would the arsenic filter go in the line up? From what I read, it sounds like I would need to chlorinate the water before it goes to the arsenic filter to convert arsenic 3 to 5.
OK, so if I have a well that has a jet pump hooked up to what he calls a pressure tank, but mines does not say pressure tank. It says reserve tank. It’s basically the same thing they both hold water inside of a bladder system and the bladder system pressurizes the tank, so that you have normal water pressure like if you were hooked up to city water
Gary my pressure is low from my bladder tank. It is set at 30 psi and my has a sulfur smell. My house is a 3 bedroom with 2 bathrooms. which do I need FOC, FOB, or FOK?

Does your system provide the same functionality and we need to install R/o in basement with pump to go to 4 locations, can we do the same with HUM system. I would appreciate if you could answer to my concerns, because I want to install these before moving to the house. Thank you

how to remove salt from well water. and not just for drinking water. i mean i guess i could get a really big ro unit but not really ideal. trying to get the water safe to water garden.
The only way is a commercial or whole house reverse osmosis system like one of these. waterestore.com/products/waterite-vectamaxx-rsl-4800-gpd-reverse-osmosis-system

Gary I have set up my system now which I go from well to filters to pressure tank then to iron filter/ water softener. I found this works for me
Good to hear! just make sure those filters before the pressure tank never get clogged becasue if they do you will burn out your pump.
Eventually I am planning on a RO system because of its purity.maybe when I win the lottery
this guy is a life saver. great content

sound issues aside great content don't listen with head phones volume levels are all over the place
Glad you liked it, aside from the sound. Please share with friends and family.
The sound effects need a filter also. Great info though.

Awsome video, having well water this helps alot. The price is probably way outta my budget. But informative either way, thanks

This was really helpful and informative thank you for the explanation

I just bought a home with a well and this really helped me understand how the filtration works. I am wondering though, I have a family of 3 including me, and a 46 ft well that holds 70 gallons of water, will that be enough to use and not run dry?
Depends on your wells recovery rate.
Hi Gary
Please do a video about what to do with the water softener when the owner is on vacation. Thanks
Yes, it is in the list. Basically, shut off your water and do nothing with your water softener.
Please stop with the sound affects.
Thank you for the feedback. I have backed off on them in newer videos
Awesome video, just bought a house and this is so helpful. Indont believe we have a UV filter. Is our water safe to drink?
The only way that you know is by having it tested
Great video, i have an iron filter and water softener that was installed last fall and still seem to have some issues with staining. Watched your videos and will do the regen on both today before filling up the hot tub. What do you recommend for turning water off when away from the cabin?
I would have your water tested both before and after the equipment for iron, tannins and hardness. This video addresses what to do when away th-cam.com/users/shortsZAVzIkbzY4k
You need to filter the loud noises during segues.
Yes, you are correct. But did you like the content?
What would be the difference if you put the iron filters before the expansion tank as opposed to after?
Thank you.
It stores all the dirt inside of it until you replace it with a new one.
@@water_estore thanks for a response. So, when a water filter manufacture claims that their whole house filter will last one million gallons meaning we are good for one million gallon of water? How do I check the water without sophisticated devices. Thanks Gary.
Thanks for the info!
So just to be clear in my head…
Well water to well water tank to water softener to water heater.
Is this the right flow of water?
Correct. Please share video with friends and family!
Thank you
Gary what would be the the most effective water filtration for the house with 3000 budget
Great question. It really depends on your water source ( city, well or lake water) your water chemistry (test results) and what concerns you about your water. Email us at info@waterestore.com and we can help
Don’t forget to add is the water hammer arrestor.
The spindown goes before everthing else but it will not remove smell, only sediment (dirt).

I am having water in my brine tank in between regeneration cycles. (Eco-Water EEC 1502R40 Model)
I replaced sediment filter, cleaned brine tank (and removed the salt sludge) replaced the Venturi valve and cleaned the float.
No but the blog post goes through it all here waterestore.com/blogs/news/your-complete-guide-to-well-water-filtration
Can you place a filter between the Well and Pressure Tank? I believe that my tank gave out prematurely due to unfiltered water entering the most sensitive part of the system which is the badder. Thanks for the info in advance.
Yes you can, but I don’t recommend it. If that filter ever gets clogged you’ll burn out your pump
I was learning so much from the video that i didn't even notice any sound effects until i read the comment section...lol.

Where would you connect your backwash drain? And how much water is backwashed during the process?
This video will help you with drain connection opotions th-cam.com/video/k9TSeZcTFuA/w-d-xo.html The amount of water depends on what type of system and what size. Some are as low as 13 gallons, some as high as 65 gallons.
Where are these tanks and filters installed? My house is on a short crawl space. There wouldn’t be room for something as large as that softener system.
In a sutuation like yours, they would be installed in a closet or the garage.
Hi Gary, Your videos are very helpful. I have well water and I need to replace my water softener - someone recommended installing an Aquafeel water filtration system which would include a water softener. Before I invest in this system I wanted to know if you are familiar with the system and what your thoughts are using such a system.
Aquafeel water filtration uses the same Clack valve as ours but they use the older version. Should be okay but I prefer ours waterestore.com/products/hum-deluxe-water-softener-30-000-grain

Hey Gary, Great video! quick question, can water softeners become non-functional if allowed to sit? We recently purchased a home and the previous owner left a disconnected softener unit that's dated 2019 but has been disconnected for a couple years. We were considering putting it back in service.
Great question! It’s definitely worth a try.
Should I put the filtration before or after the pressure tank?
Always after.
I have also decided to construct a 'green wall' to screen out my neighbor (which also blocks her 'mountain views'), and along the road frontage.*
LAND OF THE FEE AND HOME OF THE SLAVE
I wish you good luck.
That system has got to cost an absolute fortune
Yes, if you needed all of these componenets it would be a major investment for your family. Which is why we suggest you have your water tested to find out what is wrong with it and fix only what needs fixing.
Hello Gary,
I’m installing a Microlite backwashing filter because our water is really dirty, and we are having to change out our filters every 2-3 months. We wanted to avoid spending all that money. Would you recommend adding a filter after the Microlite backwashing filter, or just leave it as it is?
Hello Gary, Great Video! I have city water to my house and well water for my sprinkler system. i like to get a filter for the well water as back up for drinking water. is this possible?

Very good info. I believe a softener resin filter to about 2 microns. What size are sediment filters in the video?
I really don’t know. I would try it without, you can always add the pump later
I would have the water that comes out of the tap tested for iron.
Where in the lineup would you put the arsenic tank? We have all of this and I was told today that whomever installed doesn’t have it all properly setup.
We have not installed any arsenic systems yet, but I believe that they go after a sediment prefilter but before iron filters and water softeners.
Very informative...but yes sound effects are too loud and annoying.
Thank you for the info.
Glad you liked it, sorry about the sound affects annoying you.
I use a sediment filter before the booster to keep it clean also
Just as long as you make sure that filter never gets clooged.
@@water_estore Thank you! :)
Hello, I must ask, what is the difference between a 35,000 grain and a 64,000 grain water softener? Thank You Sir...
This speaks to its size or capacity. The 64,000 has almost double the capacity of the 35,000
If my tank is 40psi pressure tank.
If you don't change the sediment filters eventually it will dribble out but the rest of the system shouldn't make a noticeable difference.
Gary the water guy! Are you still offering help with water filtration systems? I just bought a house with a well and a lot of tanks downstairs. ?? I have no idea.

Yes, the reverse osmosis system removes any sodium that is in your water from before or after the water softener.
what if you have all of the chemicals and metals in your well? do you need 8 different filters?
No because most pieces of equipment will fix several different things. Especially if some contaminants are lower amounts.
Excellent video, thanks for the info

True, tried something new, but have toned them down in recent videos
Hi Gary, we have well water just in our irrigation system. We want to eliminate the constant stain on the driveway, walkway, and porch. What type of filtration do we need?
You need to have your water tested, then check with an irrigation guy to find out what he has to fix your water. Our systems are for residential use only.
@GarytheWaterGuy ok, thanks 😊
I would use sediment filter before the storage tank.
Nope. If you did and it ever became clogged you would burn up your water pump.
Just had my water tested as we have had some discolloration and staining. Thought it was from Iron but thinking now it is sediement. What solutions would be appropriate to add? Currently we have no filtration or water treatment solution for our well water. Have lived here for 8 years and only now are we having this issue.

It all depends on how much water you use and your water hardness. Can you calculate your daily water usage and have your waters hardness tested?
The sound effects are a useless distraction
Great video!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Please share video with friends and family
So the spindown and backwash filters, etc. they need drains, that drains where? Can you update the graphic to show this?
Shouldn't the pressure tank be past the filters so there is no pressure drop after the filters?
No, the problem with doing it that way is, if ever a filter became clogged your would burn out your pump.
If I wasn't planning on drinking the water and just needing the water to be good enough to put into an RV holding tank for use with sink for cleaning and toilet. Would I only need the sedament filter and uv filter? Or would I need more?
Assuming there is no color in the water, yes, that is correct unles it is very hard or has high iron.
Would the colour potentially cause degradation of the tank and hoses? Or would I be fine if it's a bit tinted.
What are the black rectangle boxes that aren’t labeled on the diagrams? After F and H

@@water_estore will it do my 300gal holding tank like my Triple-O system
3000 gallons
Not all at once, at a rate of 1,000 gallons per regeneration
How long does the carbon filter last I know it regenerates but it has a expiration to it
It depends on numerous factors like how much water you use and if there are any chemcials in the water that the carbon is removing.
This is the one I recommend mytapscore.com/en-ca/collections/city-water-tests

Where would the arsenic filter go in the line up? From what I read, it sounds like I would need to chlorinate the water before it goes to the arsenic filter to convert arsenic 3 to 5.
It goes after the iron filter but before the softener.
Yes, you are correct.
Gary my pressure is low from my bladder tank. It is set at 30 psi and my has a sulfur smell. My house is a 3 bedroom with 2 bathrooms. which do I need FOC, FOB, or FOK?
It depends on a number of factors, so we need more info before we can make a recommendation. This link will get you started waterestore.com/pages/free-water-test-evaluation-the-water-estore
Will the Hum 75 system filter PFAS (PFOA and PFOS)?
Yes, 90%
Ok. So I know we need the backwashing no filter system for iron will it also get out all the dirt and sand
If you get an FOK like this one it will. waterestore.ca/products/hum-chemical-free-iron-sulphur-manganese-filter-fok-1-0-cube
hi…. for the sediment 1or5 micron filter, big white one, would there be one which the housing is clear so you can see if the filter is dirty?
Yes, we have these clear ones waterestore.com/products/viqua-awp40c-v-filter-housing but keep in mind that just because the filter looks dirty it doesn’t mean that it isn’t still filtering
@@water_estore thanks Gary, quick turn around on the answer.
I have a wall mount cartridge filter, an iron boss filter, a whole-house backwashing carbon filter, and a softener.what ORDER (sequence) should I install these in?
Assuming that you are on well water. First, the cartridge filter with a coarse sediment cartridge, then the iron filter, then the water softener and then the carbon filter.
@@water_estore Excellent that's exactl what I thought.. TY
thanks you :-)

Hi Gary
I’m in process of connecting our well to our new constructed house. I am no familiar with any filtrations system. A person from Gulligan company came and tested our water and recommended a sediment filter and 10” water softer which will removes some Iron in our water , he said we have a low iron problem s, but needs to be removed, also recommend reverse osmosis filter. Well, I have no problem with his recommendation, except the cost. Does your system provide the same functionality and we need to install R/o in basement with pump to go to 4 locations, can we do the same with HUM system. I would appreciate if you could answer to my concerns, because I want to install these before moving to the house.
Thank you
Yes, our equipment will do those things. If you can email us at info@waterestore.com and let us know where you are located we can help you.
Got it at spliff. Back to the Future!
?
all those filters just for well water?
No, some of those filters for well water. Exactly what you need in your situation depends on your water quality. We take your water test results, consider your families concerns about your water and from there make a recommendation as to what is needed to fix your water. See waterestore.com/pages/free-water-test-evaluation-the-water-estore for more info.
My water tested positive for coliform. I think I have a carbon up flow filter. I know I also have a softener and another inline filter. Could I just add a UV filter to fix it or would I need to install the UV filter then shock the well?
Great question. You would install a UV with pre filter like this one waterestore.com/products/hum-safe-water-10gpm-minirack-mr320e-tp2s-220 and then disinfect the plumbing in the house following the process from this video th-cam.com/video/cQyNRu5LqOM/w-d-xo.html
Thanks.
how to remove salt from well water. and not just for drinking water. i mean i guess i could get a really big ro unit but not really ideal. trying to get the water safe to water garden.
The only way is a commercial or whole house reverse osmosis system like one of these. waterestore.com/products/waterite-vectamaxx-rsl-4800-gpd-reverse-osmosis-system
