      yea she def is one of the smarter reviewers and sees things in a practical way. One thing that has bugged me ( tho it's essential to the plot in this 2nd part) is why do Doc & Marty just leave Jennifer and not put her in the De Lorean

      @@michaelceraso1977 I realize this would defeat the whole point of having a movie, but even more than what you said it really makes no sense for ANY of them to go into the future at all to fix something. "Something's got to be done about your kids!" Ok great, why go into the future now? Just tell Marty "Hey, in 30 years your kid will be arrested, so 30 years from now you should do something about that." The end.

    Well, Nicolette is a natural at this. She’s both entertaining and fun. The best part is she isn’t confused by things like time travel and paradoxes. So many reactors to this movie usually stop trying to figure out how the time travel works cause it’s just too confusing. Nicolette however is just like “Wait. How does… Ohhh. 2+2=4. Got it.” It’s a nice change.

    I consider that 2015 as an alternate timeline from our own.
    The writers didn't really believe 2015 would have flying cars and all that. They decided to just have fun with it, knowing how predictions are usually wrong. Some old sci-fi movies thought we would all be wearing suits made out of tin foil and eating pills instead of food by now.

  • @JiReyAnimation
    @JiReyAnimation 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    18:43 yes. As Doc mentioned in Part 1 the time circuit has 3 logs that keep track of where you're going, where you are, and where you were. But unfortunately the latter only keeps track of the very last place you were in, which at this point in time reads Oct. 21 2015.
    They would've been able to spot where Biff went, had they checked the time circuits before going back to 1985.

    • @DarkXaven
      @DarkXaven 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. And we've got to give the creators credit for attention to detail, as we do see the readout when Doc dials in for the return trip to 1985. The Last Time Departed entry reads November 12, 1955 - 6:38 P.M.

    Did you notice the cafe screen Reagan see the bat coming and look scared?
    A shortened scene: when 2015 Biff returned the time machine and hid behind the dumpster, he dropped dead, and faded away.
    Deleted scene: Lorraine was behind the door on the roof and overheard Biff confess to Marty. When Biff came to after Doc had knocked him out, Lorraine was standing over him with his gun. Bye, 1985 rich Biff!
    One of Biff's buddies ("How the hell did he change his clothes do fast?") played The Phantom and was the main bad guy in Titanic.

    12:40 "Yeah. It's _rough,_ Bro'. Time travel is _rough."_
    Oh. Well, all the more so for reasons the movie does not reveal.
    Remember, in part 1, there was that point where it looked like, despite _all_ his trouble, Marty's parents were _still_ not going to end up together, and the changing timeline caught up with Marty, such that he started to disappear? It hurt, beforehand, because he was being erased from _existence._
    Well I once owned this movie on DVD. There was an option to see deleted scenes, including one that expands on the difficulty Biff is experiencing, here. After the DeLorean disappears into the past with the Doc, Marty, Jennifer and Einstein inside, Old Biff cries out in pain, lies down on the sidewalk, and _likewise_ disappears.
    They ended up cutting this scene because it raised more questions than it answered. But there's also the option to watch it with the commentary on, and in the commentary, they explain that, somewhere along the line, between 1985 and 2015, Biff pushed Lorraine too far and she _killed_ him.

    After watching 1 trillion, 247 billion, 743 thousand, 177 reactions to my favorite trilogy of all time- your shot at 16:48 revealed a continuity error. Copernicus was Doc’s dog in 1955, and Einstein was Doc’s dog in 1985 and 2015. The dog that appears behind Doc in 1985A (the alternate timeline where Biff is rich and powerful) in this shot is indeed not Einstein, but it is also not Copernicus. According to the Back to the Future wiki, the dog’s name is never revealed, but it is speculated that it might be a stray that Doc adopted or a descendant of Copernicus. The dog’s appearance is most likely a continuity error, as the filmmakers reused the duplicate footage of Doc walking toward Marty from the first movie but forgot to edit out the dog. This is confirmed by the IMDb, which lists this as one of the goofs in the film

    The writers never planned on doing a sequel; and they've even said if they had, they never would have put Jennifer in the car in the first place.
    But when the studios decided to greenlight parts 2 and 3, they decided to intentionally show a satirical take on the future. The writers knew that whenever a movie or show tries to depict the future, they always get it wrong and parts of it look dated almost immediately; so they just full tilt parody of every future cliche. The ridiculous clothing trends, the level of inflation ($50 to buy a Pepsi, "thumb a hundred bucks" to help save the clocktower, like $100 is loose change). The discarded laser discs in the alley; which back in the 80s was thought to be the next big media trend to have everything on laser disc, which never really caught on and were replaced by CDs and DVDs. That one they got right.
    The non-stop sequels (Jaws 19). The dehydrated/rehydrated pizza. Thumb scans replacing everything and even being used for financial transactions. I believe there's an easter egg in the future newspaper about bandits cutting off people's thumbs to mug them. Griff having some loose connections in his bionic implants; the servers at the cafe are virtual, powered by people on generator bikes.
    They got the video conferencing right, albeit a few years early. But video calls were expected to be the next big thing for ages, but back in the 80s/90s we're talking CRT screens and landline connections (mostly).

    The most fantastic thing that Part 2 predicted that nobody but Sports fans recognize: The Chicago Cubs hadn't won the World Series since 1908. This movie predicted that they would win it in 2015. The usually terrible Cubs DID make the playoffs that year. But even more miraculous was that they DID win the World Series in 2016 (their only other Championship since 1908 and haven't come close since). That's why Marty was so shocked that the Cubs won. PLUS, nothing was close to a "Miami" in MLB in 1985-1989. But Miami became a franchise in the 90s, and they DID have a classic NLCS with the CUBS that became one of the most memorable Championship Series ever. Miami (then, the FLORIDA Marlins) did miraculously win the World Series in 1997 and more impressively - in 2003 - with their own version of Moneyball. I was so impressed that you seemed to know this at that point in the reaction. Only about .000001% of the reactors know this.

    Great reaction Nicollete like always, this one is amazing this might be my favorite trilogy of all time so I love seeing how much you love it! I can't WAIT for you to see Part III. There are some fun-facts about this one. This movie was filmed back-to-back with Part III. If you notice they replaced the actress who played Jennifer Parker, Claudia Wells in the original Back to the future, but had to pull out of appearing in Part II after her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Elizabeth Shue was cast in the role instead and even re-shot the final scene of the first film, so it could be ‘replayed’ at the beginning of the second. This was Elijah Wood in his very first film role, Wood’s role, as an awed child by the arcade cabinet playing that game with pistols, Crispin Glover who portrais Mcfly Sr in the first one did not apper on this one. According to Glover, he discovered that he was offered far less to reprise his role in any given sequel than Lea Thompson for a similarly sized role, Glover’s agents demanded a higher fee and script approval, and Bob Gale responded by offering even less money than before. As a result, Glover pulled out of the sequel as was replaced by Jeffrey Weissman in heavy prosthetics. This is partly why George McFly is almost always shot in the dark, from behind, or upside-down. One of the more memorable gags about the future occurs when Marty is assailed by a holographic shark outside the cinema (or ‘Holomax’). The Jaws films, in spite of the critically panned Jaws 3-D and Jaws 4, are still going strong in the fictional 2015, marking the nineteenth entry in the franchise. Jaws 19 is directed by Max Spielberg, son of the legendary director. Max was born in June 1985, the ‘present’ era of the trilogy. Actors playing themselves is nothing new - and it wasn’t new in 1989, either. However, this was mostly achieved with clever camerawork and body doubles. Back to the Future Part II broke the mould by using a VFX trick that allowed the same actor to feature twice in the same frame: the ‘Vista Glide.’ As usual, necessity is the mother of invention. Given the number of times characters interact with their past selves, or alternate future selves, or narrowly avoid continuum-obliterating paradoxes, exactly this technique was needed. There are a genuine stunt injury in this film in the hoverboard chase. Due to a technical difficulty with the wires suspending the actors, Cheryl Wheeler-Duncan - the stunt double for Darlene Vogel’s Spike veers off-course and slams into the concrete pillar next to the glass. Ouch! She then falls 30 feet on to the concrete below. Evidently Zemeckis saw a silver lining in this on-set mishap, as that take is the one we see in the film. Keep up the good work.

      My theory was always because Old Biff left before Biff placed a bet the timeline had yet to alter but it’s definitely all fuzzy math

    Part 3 last one

  • @ComeOnIsSuchAJoy
    @ComeOnIsSuchAJoy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Subtle differences from the first one (not including Jennifer and George being played by different actors):
    - this time, Doc slightly hesitates before responding to Marty's question about whether he and Jennifer become assholes in the future
    - George and Marty wave to each other slightly earlier during "Earth Angel;" in the first one, it was right as the song was ending
    - no one applauds Marty after he leaves the stage this time
    - when Marty talks to Lorraine right after leaving the stage, this when time Lorraine tells him that it was very interesting music, she pauses between the words 'interesting' and 'music.'

    • @JiReyAnimation
      @JiReyAnimation 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      -Lorraine hops on top of Biff to defend George earlier and for longer. In part 1 she stays in the car longer and Biff immediately gets her off him.

    To me it's kind of funny how younger generations first think of Rick & Morty but when I was a kid and Back to the Future first came out we saw how this relationship was based off of Sherman & Mr. Peabody. Also, the trailer was shown in theaters at the end of part 2 and it doesn't spoil anything. At the time everyone knew, we all still went to go see it and it didn't reveal anything central to the plot or that any other trailer reveals.

    • @ShinyTogeticFTW
      @ShinyTogeticFTW 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How can you say there are no spoilers when the entire trailer
      ***SPOILERS***
      shows Marty in the old West with Doc? The beginning of Part III specifies that Marty will be going back to 1985 alone because Doc is happy living in the past! The trailer spoils the entire plot because, until they read Doc's grave after uncovering the buried DeLorian, they have no intention of Marty going to the old West at all!

    • @kenyattaclay7666
      @kenyattaclay7666 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ShinyTogeticFTW how can you say that there are spoilers. The ONLY way you can say that there are spoilers in that trailer would be if every single trailer ever for every movie EVER made is a spoiler. Sorry but this whole idea of “spoilers” is just stupid. There isn’t one single thing in that trailer that reveals the plot which is why in 1989 it was EXACTLY what everyone saw at the end of the movie. This is also the EXACT trailer that everyone saw in commercials in 1990 before it was released.
      The simple fact at the end of 2 you know Doc went back to 1885 & you know Marty is going to go back to get him. It should also be common sense that it’s going to be a 1885 version of Hill Vally & at the beginning of 2 they had already revealed Mad Dog. I seriously don’t know what you expected 1885 to look like but there sure as hell weren’t going to be laser beams& people dressed in space suits.

    • @ShinyTogeticFTW
      @ShinyTogeticFTW 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well excuse me for thinking that
      *SPOILERS*
      being told something will happen (Marty being in the old West) that seems to contradict something stated in the beginning of the movie (Doc's letter tells Marty not to come back to get him, and Marty doesn't seem to think that's an unreasonable request; it isn't until they realize Doc gets murdered one week after he wrote the letter that Marty decides he's going to go back to the old West) counts as spoiling some part of the plot of said movie.
      When I first watched Part III after seeing the trailer, it bothered me, upon hearing everything in Doc's letter, that it seemed, based on the content of the trailer, like Marty didn't care that Doc wanted to be left in the past (obviously the gravestone scene made it clear that it was not in fact Marty disregarding Doc's request but rather him going there on a rescue mission to save Doc's life, but that is my point).
      The fact of the matter is, in the case of BttF3, the biggest spoiler in the trailer is where/when the movie takes place - and this is not something that can be called a spoiler in most movies' trailers because I think most movies happen where/when they are expected to take place.
      P.S. My sister refuses to watch movie trailers at all because she does consider any information about a movie being revealed ahead of time as being a spoiler. I'm not saying she's right, I'm just saying that is an opinion that some people hold.

    • @kenyattaclay7666
      @kenyattaclay7666 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ShinyTogeticFTW once again, you would have to be a complete idiot not to know they were going back to 1885. Like I said, at the very beginning of the movie they had revealed Mad Dog and at the end of act I they showed them having trouble with the date on the Time Machine showing 1885 before they even went back to 1955.
      Also like I said, EVERYONE IN 1989 ALREADY KNEW IT WAS A WESTERN. The two movies were shot at the same time.
      There was NOTHING revealing in the trailer about the plot. You people seriously need to know what a spoiler really is. It would’ve been different if the trailer reveals anything about Doc falling in love but it didn’t. It would’ve been different if the trailer revealed Doc was staying in 1885 but it didn’t, those are spoilers.
      Lastly, like I said, if you are seriously going to try & call that trailer a spoiler then you have to call EVERY SINGLE TRAILER EVER FOR EVERY MOVIE EVER a spoiler. This trailer was at the end of part 2 in the movie theater. This trailer was played before every movie you went to see in 1990. This trailer was in every commercial on TV before the movie came out. This is nothing but a standard trailer that you see FOR EVERY DAMN MOVIE THAT HAS EVER BEEN MADE because there was NOTHING in this trailer that EVERYONE didn’t already know.

    Love this trilogy.
    Don't love rick and morty which evolved from justin roiland's disgusting short film "the adventures of doc and mharti" where 'doc' forces 'mharti' to perform sexual acts on him, plus roilland is a creep who has sent sexual messages to underage girls and also claimed in some realities rick and morty are in romantic relationship with each other, the sicko.
    Anyways BttF is one of the best trilogies and Part 3 is awesome too.

    😎👍 Spectacular reaction. He's not quoting "Taxi Driver" at 9:21. "I'm Walkin' Here!" is a quote from "Midnight Cowboy." Coincidentally, in the NEXT movie he actually DOES utter a famous quote from "Taxi Driver." There's a scene where he's standing in front of a mirror and says "You Talkin' To Me?" 😄 It's immediately followed by "Go Ahead, Make My Day" which is a famous quote from the 1983 Clint Eastwood movie, "Sudden Impact." The 3rd installment pays homage to a whole slew of other movies as well. It'll be a lot of fun watching you watching it.

      I watched Biden's State of the Union address and was not impressed. Not at all. He rambled on about how Trump is at fault for this country's current failures.
      He boasted and took credit for a prosperous State of the Union, but sadly, this is far from the truth. Under his leadership America is in decline, on all levels and on all major issues, policies and all polls show this to be true.

    I hate when idiots in the comments tell reactors to not watch the preview for no good reason. People are lying about it "spoiling" anything. It doesn't show anything that anyone with half a lick of common sense wouldn't have figured out before watching it anyway. And there's no "spoiler" that's even serious or slightly meaningful. I hate when people ruin what could be a good reaction to the last moment like that, and I hate it even more when reactors actually believe those people.
