I love all three of these, but this is my favourite because of how convoluted it is with the intertwined time periods.
I didn’t realize until the end just how many different things happened in 1 movie lol.
The only reason you only think the Doc looks the same is because you saw the most of him in 1955. He does look the same as that but much younger than he looked in 1985. They don't need plutonium because the car has the Mr. Fusion that converts waste to energy.
My first reaction is that fusion doesn't work that way. But then I decided that perhaps Mr. Fusion first separates out the deuterium from everything else, fuses the deuterium, and everything else evaporates, expands, and generates electricity for the flying and the time travel.

Here's a fun personal fact. I graduated high school on October 21st 2015 and my local cinema was screening the first BTTF film to honour the day so I got to go see the first film in cinemas right after finishing school

The guy who tells Marty he wishes he could've bet on the Cubs is Charles Fleischer who voiced the title character in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", which Robert Zemeckis directed in between parts 1 and 2 (and also featured Christopher Lloyd). There's also a Roger Rabbit plush toy in the shop window with the almanac, and the tunnel during the final chase scene with Biff was also in that film as the entrance to Toon Town.
On the "EMMETT BROWN COMMITTED" newspaper, the other headline is "NIXON TO SEEK FIFTH TERM: VOWS TO END VIETNAM WAR BY 1985". On the "EMMETT BROWN COMMENDED" newspaper, the other headline is "REAGAN TO SEEK SECOND TERM: NO REPUBLICAN CHALLENGERS EXPECTED".
The nicknames for Biff's gang are "Match" (cause he has a match in his mouth, played by Billy Zane), "Skinhead", and "3-D" (the one with 3-D glasses). Griff's gang are nicknamed "Data" (the one who makes the chicken noise), "Whitey" (the Asian one) and "Spike" (the girl). The stunt double for the actress who played "Spike" was badly injured when the stunt of the gang crashing through the courthouse windows went wrong. You can see her hitting a pillar, instead of going through the windows.
Notice in the video about Biff it was Lorraine Baines Mcfly when married

26:25 Headcanon Theory: 1955 Doc can _totally_ tell Fedora Doc is himself from the future, and is just playing dumb cuz he figures Fedora Doc must be on some crazy time shenanigan, and it's best not to interfere.
The whole bit with the face mask had a reason. In the first movie they used makeup to make 80's Doc look older than his 50's self. To keep from having him continue to wear the makeup for the 2nd movie, they added the bit about getting de-aged in the future.
22:40 Actually for some time on the day of the thunderstorm there are four DeLoreans found in Hill Valley: the one from the first movie, the one that old Biff used to deliver the book to his past self, the one that Doc and Marty came with to repair the timeline and the one that Doc hid in 1885.

3:23 Now just to clarify, Doc Brown was born in 1914. So in 1955, he turned 41. So in _1985,_ he turned _71._ But according to what he just told us, he went to a rejuvenation clinic and they added a good 30 to 40 years to his life. So metabolically speaking, he's in his 40s again.

13:52 I once had this movie on DVD. There was an option to view deleted scenes and one of them was an extension of _this_ scene. Here, after the DeLorean disappears back into the past, carrying Doc Brown, Marty, Jennifer and Einstein, Biff cries out in pain, lies down on the ground, and disappears. They cut this scene because, first, it wasn't really necessary to the plot, and second, it raised more questions than it answered.
You watch it with the commentary on and they explain that, somewhere between alternate 1985 and alternate 2015, Biff pushes Lorraine too far and she shoots him.
So awesome! I saw this one in the movie theater back in Brazil! Stayed up way past my bed time, but there was a lot of reading so it was educational! Thx uncle Pepe!
Young Biff didn't retain any information from the Almanac, because we see that the matchbook reverts back to "Biff's Auto Detailing". Also, as soon as old Biff returned the DeLorean, he disappears from existance (this can be seen in a deleted scene).

Why was evil Biff telling Marty everything? Well why wouldn't he, even if he didn't intend killing Marty, what would Marty do with the information? Biff didn't recognise himself as the old codger, he didn't know anything about a time machine. He was a living walking American hero at this point with $billions in the bank, he owns the police and got away with killing George, he has everything, Marty on the other hand has nothing, no influence, no money. Even if Marty went to the authorities they would dismiss him as a weird kid. Biff may as well tell him, Marty wasn't a threat.

When Biff got back to 2015 he disappeared as he was more than likely killed by Lorraine due to him being so abusive in this timeliness sometime between 1985 and 2015
The thing that set's this trilogy apart from all others is the way all three are interwoven. the tightness of the script causes the viewer to be totally immersed in the story. And the characters and relationships are outstanding. Taking all three it is in the top 5 of all cinema experiences.

You made a good point about the walkie-talkie's range, but then I remembered it's 1955, so no cell phone towers, way less radio interference and pollution, less TV broadcast towers, so it's pretty plausible that the signal would reach much farther than nowadays. The one plot-hole in this movie is that old Biff, after giving the Almanac to young Biff, was able to travel to "normal 2015" instead of "alternate 2015", but let's just assume he time traveled before the time line was completely "transformed", like it slowly did with Marty's photograph in the 1st movie.
You're in for a treat and an awesome ending to the trilogy with the 3rd movie! By the way, you don't need a wig for the 3rd movie, just a hat. Trust me 🙂

You might want to go back and watch the end, after you've seen BTTF3. Basically, it's a trailer for the next movie. It's a fun little compilation, for historical purposes. Also consider that it was shown in the theaters, and everyone that watched had a year to think, dream, and get excited for the next movie. This movie is the only trilogy that I know of, that actually says "To be concluded" in the second chapter, rather than "To be continued". Personally, I consider that pretty cool. I like the idea of an intentional ending, instead of ambiguous open endedness, that allows them to make indefinite sequels, like Fast and Furious. It just makes the whole series seem more solid and refined, since sequels often get weaker over time. Ending at a trilogy seems to be a pretty good move, overall. I look forward to your final reaction in this series.

The cops have access to any house. There are no more lawyers in 2015, so you can assume the police has more power, too. Or they just used Jennifer's finger.

"I'm walking here!" Is actually from 1969's "Midnight Cowboy" - and Dustin Hoffman ad-libbed it when a real driver almost ran the two actors over during a scene. It was in character, so it was kept in.

Seeing this as it originally aired, we sat through the Part 3 preview. Don't recall spoilers then.
I never saw those as spoilers even after I finally saw _Part III_ (especially as some bits in that teaser trailer never made it into the final film).
I think it's funny that no one watching this today for the first time has any reaction at all to the (then) comically large TV in the 2015 McFly home, because that's just a fairly normal size for TV's now
No flying cars, no tiny pizzas turning into the bigger ones, no accurate weather forecasts. Our future sucks :(

@@januzi2 some things are harder than others, flying cars would be a lot harder than making hover cars that ride on magnets above a electro magnetic road. Roads like that could also charge the cars while they were driving/hovering on it. I'm gonna start wearing suits inside out, I already do it when I dress up as the Joker, but I don't think it's gonna catch on, lol.
Doc mentions the weather service and compares it with the postal service, which I always interpreted that in the BttF timeline, the government perfected weather control - which today is one of the conspiracy theories associated with chemtrails.
When Michael Fox is gone, he should have this phrase "Nobody calls me chicken" on his cemetery stone [or similar] because of his amazing heroic fight agianst Parkinson's Disease for deacdes now and the being the prime hero and advocate for all who have it.

This one's a bit of a mess due to the joke ending they gave the first film when they had no idea there would be a demand for sequels. They pretty much hamstrung themselves in terms of how it had to begin.
Yeah I got a little lost half way when the plot suddenly switched up and I was still thinking about him going to jail in the future 😂
1. It's not often sequels hold up to the original, but this does. Thank you 1980s.
2.This one is the best of the bunch. The next one is inventive but I'm not really into the story. That said, it is the perfect wrap.
3. The stunt woman that flew into the glass window partially missed and injured her arm.

38:40 The "chicken" part disturbed me when I first watched this, as it seemed like major discontinuity. But years later, someone commented about Marty thinking that he makes it big and that he's rich, and suggested that this was a change in Marty because of his different upbringing in the new timeline. Jennifer is different now, too (not serious).
If the Bobs had planned for a sequel, it would have turned out very different.

Since you liked these. A couple of other cult classics you might like is thw first Official Marvel movie HOWARD THE DUCK also made by Stephen Spielberg like this movie along with George Lucas from Star Wars....not a big hit at the time but became popular in the 90s. Also THE WRAITH a car easy horror movie made mid 80s with a banging soundtrack and an allstar cast before they were famous starring Charlie Sheen young

There are some fun facts about this one. This movie was filmed back-to-back with Part III. If you notice they replaced the actress who played Jennifer Parker, Claudia Wells in the original Back to the future, but had to pull out of appearing in Part II after her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Elizabeth Shue was cast in the role instead and even re-shot the final scene of the first film, so it could be ‘replayed’ at the beginning of the second. This was Elijah Wood in his very first film role, Wood’s role, as an awed child by the arcade cabinet playing that game with pistols, Crispin Glover who portrais Mcfly Sr in the first one did not apper on this one. According to Glover, he discovered that he was offered far less to reprise his role in any given sequel than Lea Thompson for a similarly sized role, Glover’s agents demanded a higher fee and script approval, and Bob Gale responded by offering even less money than before. As a result, Glover pulled out of the sequel as was replaced by Jeffrey Weissman in heavy prosthetics. This is partly why George McFly is almost always shot in the dark, from behind, or upside-down. One of the more memorable gags about the future occurs when Marty is assailed by a holographic shark outside the cinema (or ‘Holomax’). The Jaws films, in spite of the critically panned Jaws 3-D and Jaws 4, are still going strong in the fictional 2015, marking the nineteenth entry in the franchise. Jaws 19 is directed by Max Spielberg, son of the legendary director. Max was born in June 1985, the ‘present’ era of the trilogy. Actors playing themselves is nothing new - and it wasn’t new in 1989, either. However, this was mostly achieved with clever camerawork and body doubles. Back to the Future Part II broke the mould by using a VFX trick that allowed the same actor to feature twice in the same frame: the ‘Vista Glide.’ As usual, necessity is the mother of invention. Given the number of times characters interact with their past selves, or alternate future selves, or narrowly avoid continuum-obliterating paradoxes, exactly this technique was needed. There are a genuine stunt injury in this film in the hoverboard chase. Due to a technical difficulty with the wires suspending the actors, Cheryl Wheeler-Duncan - the stunt double for Darlene Vogel’s Spike veers off-course and slams into the concrete pillar next to the glass. Ouch! She then falls 30 feet on to the concrete below. Evidently Zemeckis saw a silver lining in this on-set mishap, as that take is the one we see in the film. Keep up the good work.

I never understood why Doc got zapped into the past by a lightning strike. Whatever happened to having to go 88 mph? If a lightning strike was enough to do the job then why didnt we just park the delorean on the side of the road in BTTF part 1, just pipe the lightning strike directly into the stationary car?

Plenty of non sequiturs in the film. No reason Doc couldn't have rewired it to work stationary, etc.

I really don't get why people tell these reactors to stop before that "end scene". We ALL saw that end scene in theaters, and did it spoil it for us? NO! We still loved III anyways. I just don't get it.

The first scene was filmed over again, with Elizabeth Shue playing Jennifer, instead of Claudia Wells, due to a scheduling conflict.
She decided not to do BTTF2 because she was taking care of her mom who had cancer.😕
All buff's knowledge of the future events is erased, just like the events of Marty's father being killed and the doc being committed because the book was destroyed.

It was a shame about Jennifer's actress. Personally, I preferred the original more. These have a lot of corny humour but it's a great trilogy that is a lot of fun.

It has a follow up when old Biff sees the Delorean in the future. Just to signal Biff knows something strange is happening.
@@Cheepchipsable 🤔That really doesn't strike me as a strong connection. I know the scene you're referring to. It's where old Biff, in 2015, sees the DeLorean and says, "A flying DeLorean. I haven't seen one of those in... 30 years." Then Marty Jr. stumbles into him and he looks back and forth between him and his father, in surprise, and says, "What the hell? Two of 'em?"
This scene would've been _absolutely_ in place, with or without that precursor.

I LOVE Back To The Future 1 and 2, but I dislike the sexist comments and actions we sometimes see in them, here, it's Doc putting Jennifer to sleep saying she is not essential to his plan and that it isn't good to know about the future... No SHE IS IMPORTANT, this is about the children of Jennifer and Marty, they both are important and concerned... Doc simply could explain to Jennifer why he cannot answer the question
Another of those negative points is the idea to put Jennifer alone, unconscious in the street amongst garbage or something like that
3d, the way they throw unconscious Jennifer into the Delorean in 2015 like a sack of potatoes instead of placing her gently, she's a human, not a thing !!!!
4th one is to abandon her again alone outside of her house at night (2nd time in the movie she is put in danger by Doc !!!), and you ask a very good question "Imagine what Jennifer is going through"... She has been left there, at night, in a reality were crimes are EVERYWHERE, and during ALL THE FILM we don't even mention what she might go through ! The film simply zapped her ! Doc Marty leave the alternate 1985 to go to 1955, and during all that stuff, a woman is let outside at night unconscious in a city of crimes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
