"The chosen one", is a great human being - he adds depth to this channel, which is already good.
A legend for sure
shoulda made chosen first mate for sure
When you see so much support it’s a reflection of your character
Thanks 🙏🏼
@@ParlayRevival hey remember me??? When your boat first broke before your crossing I also was diagnosed with cancer and I said if I can solve the problem so can you. I still have cancer but rejecting all treatments and last Mother’s Day I attempted to walk across canada promoting peace tables and mental health tools along with my research on the cure to cancer. I injured myself going 47 k one day, I took a few weeks off and kept pushing through the huge mountains of British Columbia to say I accomplished at least one province lol. I’m alive, cancer didn’t get me and legs are healing nicely. Still got a passion to sail around the world and know it’s going to happen because that passion level tends to create. Sadly it’s a passion I’m scared to death to do. We create what we fear right, well I got that fear on steroids so you know cancer can’t kill me because this dam sailing passion has to unfold first before any death can happen lol. Love your channel. Theglobalpeacetrain.com
A big thanks to the legend that gifted you the other saildrive.
An absolute legend!
What a great Captain, this man can fix anything.
Thank you!
Nice work Colin. Sometimes the simple changes can be the best ones!
I recall being stuck in Death Valley in 1952 for over ten hours with a leaking radiator hose on a 1950 Mercury woodie station wagon. The outside temperature was 125 degrees most of the day. We had tried to refill the radiator from the water tanks spaced 1-2 miles apart along the Valley floor, but the boil over was going to burn up the engine. My father, an Aeronautical Engineer and his buddy also an Engineer were stumped. At about 7pm a car stopped to see if we needed help. It was a crusty old man with one arm took a look under the hood and asked my father one question; “Do you really need that hose going to your heating system?”
At my young age of 6, I saw the amazed look on my father’s face. The repair took 10 minutes and we were on our way again.
Colin ❤ you must have effected so many lives of people around you. when your time on this earth ends, there going to be thousands of souls welcoming and celebrating your earthly accomplishments ❤️
Thank you!
One of your best episodes! So great being able to witness Colin's engineering wizardry and the crew's hard-earned successes... not to mention Tori's incredible smile! 😄
Thanks man! 🙏🏼
Ditto!! An outstanding episode. Let the journey continue.
Great episode team, awesome to see fellow Kiwis banding together to help each other out in our time of need.
That’s for sure!
It amazes me how Colin copes with everything that is thrown at him, his memory is fantastic for the engineering bits and pieces - Thanks for another impressive episode
Appreciate that, thanks James!
GREAT GREAT VIDEO! Thank you for all the shoutout’s to the people who make it possible for PARLAY to continue for giving us awesome adventures. Just have to say WELCOME BACK JAMIE I MISSED YOU AND COLIN DID AS WELL 😂🤪
Haha thanks for watching each week Debbie 🙏🏼
When you are a nice guy Colin, it comes back to you ten fold mate. And, you, are definitely a nice guy.
Love that Chosen is back. So cool. Also all the support and gifts during your haul out was phenomenal along with your mechanical skills on the fly. Great episode!
Fantastic to see you getting Parlay back in the water. Great work, Colin and team. Have fun on your lap around NZ
Thanks 👍
Nz must be narly sailing, not too many i hear take on the aussie bite in bass straight wa to vic or nsw or visa versa, can only imagine the harsh winds down sth island. Enjoy the challenge, thrive in adventure, just have bloody gr8 fun safely!
Started watching about episode 230, went back and watched from the beginning. Great boat, crew and Colin, you are amazing! You remind me of my Dad. He bought a burned to the water-line Elco 35 power boat and rebuilt her. Didn't tell Mom for ages, so she thought he had a mistress! He, and 2 of my brothers could build, fix or repair anything. Maybe I'll catch you in Annapolis this year! Met my husband there, and lived aboard for 2 1/2 years on a Schneider ketch.
Colin is the best friend I have never met. He's so genuine, an absolute template of what we should all be striving to be.
The chosen one is such a wonderful person. You are all amazing. I enjoyed the diy for the sail drive.
He’s a legend!
Good job, Smokos, and funny joking, Jamie, that your first mate. Welcome back, Jamie. It's good to have the first mate back. Fantastic team effort to get Parlay back in the water in such a short turnaround. Thanks to everyone who contributed. Colin, your quick knowledge impresses me. Brilliant!
Thanks for watching and commenting each week, we so appreciate it 😊
He’s second mate for two weeks!
@@kscipkkkk 👍
Oh yeah baby! Water babies, splash day baby! Succesful sea trials, some upgrades, diesel filled, cleaned. Ready to welcome Jamie and resume the western coast circumnavigation of Western New Zealand. Huge shout out to all who helped with the logistics!
This was a pretty good example as to the importance of experience. It would be easy to panic about the backwards prop situation and overthink a solution, but experience prevailed with the simple, correct solution to the problem.
Seriously? Is there ANYTHING on a boat this crew can't fix??? I'm just...amazed. Well done y'all!
exactly 25 minutes and 15 seconds of smiling ear to ear. Thanks Colin!
Love that Steve has become a part of the crew. What an amazing addition. Just show how great Colin is having him along.
Wow, thank goodness that the controls allow you to swap like that. Someone in the design department take a bow.
Almost all helm controls are designed like this.
I know, right?
He could have bought an inverted propeller too.
@@RodrifuuuThat’s what I thought he would need when I read the title. Glad it was an easier fix.
Much easier to have flipped the control lever on the tranny
Love the channel! Colin we miss your intro. Add it back in. 20 years you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did.
Love how you make replacing boat parts as entertaining and fascinating as surfing awesome reefs. Thank you!! And gotta say, best nickname ever ..."the Chosen One". Nice to see you back on Parlay!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
love the smiles from all the crew. Great team work
Thanks so much!
Awesome Job everyone! I'm especially amazed at the knowledge Colin has about his boat. God Blesses those that help themselves!
Those of you who are blue water captains and sailors never cease to amaze me. Your talents, engineering, and innovation allowing you to adapt and continue are exceptional 👌👏 keep sailing, and may your journey be blessed and happy
Many thanks Sean!
@@ParlayRevival you are most welcome, and many blessings to you all
Having watched all 259 episodes and counting I must say a BIG thank you Colin for putting me off "putting out to sea" in my retirement. My dream has always been to buy or build a comfortable motor Cat and cruise around the pacific. BUT the reality is I simply don't have the marine engineering knowledge and skills to maintain a boat at sea. Seriously, thanks to Colin and Parley Revival, I am now looking at buying a boat & trailer and staying closer to shore.
Wow, thanks for following along all these years! Goodluck with buying that boat and following your dreams 🙌🏼
That's what you get when you help all those other people, it comes back to ya!!!
The dedication and expertise needed for this -just WOW!
Appreciate that 😊
I reckon we can forgive Jamie this time. The man has put in a lot of man hours into fixing up Parlay.
I’m glad he had a great time on the super yacht.
I am surprised that only Aussies & Kiwi’s use the term “smoko”.
I love the Down Under lingo we share.
Always a treat to receive your videos
We are SOOOO impressed with your repair talents.
Everything that you accomplished during this time in the marina could not have been done in that amount of time without you and your talents 💯❣️
Trying to patiently wait for your next video 🤣🥰💯❣️
Never gets boring watching Colin “fix shit”…..so interesting and festive 🧐🤩
Thank you Colin and team for getting me through a total knee replacement. I have binge watched all 259 episodes while I recouped from the operation. It took exactly 3 weeks without over viewing your channel. As a teacher and principal in public primary schools for over 40 years, encouraging young kids to get out and see the world, your channel was fantastic as you inspire all ages. You and your crew are welcome to visit me and my family in Perth Western Australia any time.
You just can't beat the boating community !!!! BPOE !!
They are the best!
Hey Colin - Knowledge, skills and an Engineering degree goes a long way, imagine the savings doing this all by yourself! It also gives a total in depth overview of how Parlay operates, not every one has what you have learned, let’s hope other blue water sailers get to at least watch some of the truely incredible episodes buddy. Take care, be safe and God Bless 👍🙏😇⛵️
I might not have "buy a hurricane damaged Lagoon 450" money but this channel is one of the main reasons I bought a motorcycle for a tour of Mexico and central America. Because I don't want to regret the things I didn't do. Thanks Parlay, you are a huge inspiration.
That’s awesome to hear Bernie! Motorcycling around Mexico and Central America sounds sick!
Reverse in forward, forward in reverse, up is down, down is up - a Southern Hemisphere thing I'm sure 🙂 A test you can do... pull that transducer out in the water, if your boat sinks with the water coming in clockwise you are in the Northern Hemisphere, if you sink and the water is coming in anti-clockwise you are in the South.
Great episode Colin qnd the crew .
Special thanks to the chap that gave you the sail drive .
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Gotta love a good curveball. Glad it was a simple fix.
Haha us too
Do you need a nap? Best line eva!!!
Your a clever bastard ,saving thousands with your marine mech background
big thanks to everyone who helped nice to see the boat afloat again
I’m glad I stopped drinking Sept 23 - I couldn’t have done the rebuild hungover… never again … love your channel
Great to see Jamie back missed his amazing way...
Us too!
Just incredible as always.. Being so calm about everything, even the throttle cable, etc. Such a joy to watch. Beautiful boat, ocean, and crew..
Thanks a lot!
Great episode Colin! You are a hard guy to thank, you should have let me pay for the fuel!
Haha the wrestle match!
I laugh how Collin's bro accent truly comes out when he's in the FFN 🤣😂 Cool too see you guys in familiar places!
The chosen one is there as a gift from god
The boat and the people have given so much to the chosen one
It may be hard for some to understand.
Nice work, folks!! Good to see you all repaired and back in the water. From my own experiences, a broken gear tooth does not get better and just causes more damage! Have a good week! Special hello to Britt, from Canada! 😀
"The Chosen One," how great is he? So so great!
❤ Excellent as always
Best sailing channel by far!!!
Your problem-solving spirit and ingenuity is inspiring to watch. Congrats yet again!
Thanks so much
Parlay an crew are awesome. Jaimie is back👍
Had us cracking up at the beginning with the Smoko nickname LOL
Cheers from Queensland!
New Zealand has been very very hard on the 465. Nice to see Jamie back.
We’ve been putting her to work for sure
Fantastic ❤
I'm so glad I started watching this,it's because of Below Deck and of coarse how handsome Colin is!!I can't wait for Sunday mornings and a good cup of coffee!I enjoy all of you guys and gals! Everett Washington
Haha thank you! Appreciate you watching our TH-cam channel each week 🙏🏼
Wow! You are THE MAN!
Brilliant, well done everyone xx🤗
Great series on NZ circumnavigation,it’s one of if not the best Parlay series yet.
Woohoo, thanks Joe!
Bloody love this channel
You are blessed to have such great people around you Colin .
It always amazes me that you are personally able to fix so many things. I am loving seeing this part of the world and learning about your friends! I hope you get a break from the boat troubles!
Right, feels good 👍🏼😊

Luckily it was an easy fix 😅
