      I know this is a old vid ... But did you get no camera shake using this on the a6000 without image stabilization?
      Thanks

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally don’t have too many issues with camera shake. You’d have more issues at night with camera shake, since you’d need the shutter to be open longer. For video use - you’ll notice the camera shake. If you want optimized lenses for handheld video, grab lenses with stabilization.

    Just got my 1st camera - a6000 couple of days back. For the past 5 hrs i'm spending my time on your youtube channel along with a6000. A big thanks to you for the videos which is helping to start filming. Kindly suggest a budgeted lens for a beginner - specially for b-roll videos.

    Was waiting for this review! This was the lens I graduated to from my kit lens. I feel like at 30mm on a crop-sensor body it can stand in place of the “Nifty Fifty”, although technically it’s 45mm full-frame equivalent. It’s got such a great build quality, is a bit more affordable, and I’ve had no issues so far. 🤍

  • @m.bauer2024
    @m.bauer2024 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I am using this lens on a6000 most of the time and sharpness is not the issue at all. Autofocus will fool you many times (I would say 20 % of time), so you will learn to recheck a pics you just took with it. Also chromatic aberation will annoy you especially at low light photography (f 1.4). If you are interested in aprox. 50 mm focal lenght (ok 45, much wider, such difference), go for this one. It is not flawless but I very enjoy taking pics with this one and I bet you will also.

    It's 1 of my favorite lens besides the 18-105mm. The 30mm is really sharp I really like shooting in low light and it really holds its own. Very well!! It's a very nice combo with the a6300. I alway keep my sigma 30mm, 50mm and my lil boo 18-105mm (I call her Zoom-Keisha 😂😂🤣) I'm working getting the sigma 56mm or sony fe 85mm lens. Then I'll be done with getting lens, I'll have all I need.

    I'm thinking about buying this combination. I will use it as a webcam, and therefore I'll need to buy Elgato Cam Link. Can anyone tell me, if this camera will get hot?
    My friend is recommending Sony A6100 because he knows it doesn't get hot (he uses it with its standart lens). But A6000 is about half the price og A6100, and because it's only for a webcam, I don't need the 4k A6100 can give me. My biggest fear is that the A6000 will get hot if I record with Cam Link for several hours while for example livestreaming.

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right now in the US it’s not a big price difference and the a6100 is worth buying. As for a pass through device for streaming, the camera shouldn’t get as hot as it normally would in stand alone recording. I haven’t used the a6000 as a pass through/streaming device, so I can’t say for certain.

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      AF is typically better on the Sony lenses. It’s not super noticeable IMO. You won’t regret either lens. If you’re a beginner the OSS is a great thing to have, so I’d go Sony 35mm. It was my first lens after the kit lens.

    The more money I am putting into my A6000 the more doubt that crosses my mind. I feel like I the cropped sensor really holds me back sometimes.. Considering the 1.5x crop factor our lovely A6K has, this 30mm would be the same as using a 45mm on a full frame camera, which is quite an akward spot if you ask me.
    I do enjoy the Sigma 30mm, a lot, but still.

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd first suggest finding out what you're looking for. If you're looking for easy ways to get different types of shots in terms of focal length, or you want characters faces to look different, or want more flexibility in shots quickly - go with another lens. If you want to to add movement in a way that is more streamlined, rather than relying on just your arms or maybe some ways you've figured out - then go with a gimbal. Prioritize which is more important for now. You can always get both eventually, but what will help you achieve what you want now?

      Thanks! Glad my channel has helped. As for a landscape lens, that’s not gonna be the best as it’s gonna be a “tight” view. A better suited focal length would be 16mm, or 24. The Sigma 16mmf 1.4 is probably the best, or if you need cheaper, there are manual lenses suited for landscape like the Samyang 12mm f2. Also the “FE” lenses are designed for full frame Sony cameras. The Sony FE 50mm f1.8 field of view on the Sony a6000 will look like an 85mm. Here is a video explaining crop factor. th-cam.com/video/0wLTGNi-AD8/w-d-xo.html There isn’t anything wrong with putting an FE lens in an a6000, but just keep in mind they’re not specifically designed fir the a6000, and the crop factor. 🙌🏻

    Do you prefer sigma 30mm f1.4 or sigma 16mm f1.4? For sony a6000

      Depends on the situation. Sometimes you want WIDE, sometimes more depth of field.

    Hi Kyle, do you have autofocus issue with the Sigma 30mm ? I currently having the sony 35mm but I think its not sharp enough, compared to my sigma 56mm. so now I considering selling the sony 35mm for the sigma 30mm. I took only photos not videos. but kinda worry about the AF problems as I would use it to take photo of my all day all night running child

      @kyletaggart  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think if you have a fast enough shutter speed it’s fine. The sigma 56mm is known to be incredibly sharp as well. I don’t have the 56 yet.

      @@kyletaggart thanks Kyle. you should consider getting one. you'll get blown away by the quality of the sigma 56mm, which almost convinced me enough to sell the sony 35 for sigma 30 to get the same quality

    Someone locally is selling their Sony FE 28mm f2.0 full frame for $290obo, this or the Sigma 30? Anyone compare on a a6000?

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting comparison. If you don’t plan on full frame anytime soon, I’d go with the sigma 30mm.

      hikyletaggart thanks. I was able to grab a Sigma 60mm off the local FB tagsale for $100. Maybe I’ll get lucky enough to find a 30!

    Hey there! I bought this lens recently for my Sony a6000 but it doesn't fit my camera. The connection seems to narrow and doesn't fit into the Sony a6000 camera body. Do I need an adapter?

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should not need an adapter. Look on the silver mount of the lens, it should say Sony E mount. If it says something different you got the wrong mount version.

      @@kyletaggart I checked amazon and the one I bought was wrongly labelled so I opted for a similar Sony one with an e mount. Appreciate the reply!

      ur_friend_armaan I was supposed to get one to test for two weeks and it’s not showing up. Have to hold off on my next camera purchase as I’m moving soon. Once the move happens o may be getting either a 6100 or 6400. Need that no recording limit for my TH-cam camera 😎🙌🏻

      Its not a zoom lens. If you’re shooting jpeg you can use clear image zoom to zoom in. But otherwise it’s not a zoom.
