Dungeons look like they could be good in a deck that revolves around panharmonicon style effects and a bunch of blinking. Other than that it looks like an ultra casual strategy
Anybody who's thinking this isn't enough support don't forget that the commander product specifically for the dungeon mechanic will have new cards specific to that deck that we don't know about yet. Just for reference the rakdos precon had 14 new cards specific to that deck.
I built a venture into the dungeon commander deck, originally it was Green white lifegain and venture to 'give enough time' but yea, suuucked! tweaked it. heavy creature bent blue white Green, works pretty great - fly thru the dungeon while countering, pumping, life-gain, and more than a few of the cards mentioned. I'm running Bernard, Ginger Sculpter as the commander. Ellewick is pretty great too especially coupled with Hama Pashar, Ruin Seeker
I recently build a Dungeon Deck with Hama Pashar as my Commander and blinking all the EDH venture/initiative cards. It's lots of fun and seems pretty good in my play group. All the stacks and effects are kind of overwhelming once the ball gets rolling tho :D
I like the flavor of the D&D set so far even though I know basically nothing about D&D. Power level seems pretty on par with any core set (don't forget it replaces Core set 2022), but just blast any core set flavor wise. Can't wait to see the Dungeon Precon deck !
There is a few of the coin flip cards that would make an interesting EDH deck if you would really want to annoy your friends make sure you have an extra quarters lol
I think suffers from the same problem as foretell with just not enough support. I really enjoy playing Ranar, but theres not enough foretell support so it leans into blinking, but that makes it less focused so it tops out at a strong mid level deck. Still fun but will never be great without more focus
I feel like black/white have a lot of ways to abuse what those dungeons do, and you can use both flicker and Undying Evil type effects to get it done. It'll no doubt be a janky, mid power deck, but at least you can say "I'm playing orzhov spellslinger."
Might be worth rehashing this topic. With Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate around the corner, we can probably speculate that more dungeons or dungeon like mechanics will be released. This time with commander focus.
That would be pretty cool. When completed they could tap for mana. Although they would still be usable for mana with things that turn them into basic land types.
Also seriously, one thing about dungeons that should not be underestimated is the ability of opponents to literally forget they’re in play - right up until their creature dies. Ba$tard$!
Apparently I been playing it wrong?(Rule isn't officially out until (11-19).I been moving one room each turn...Now I gotta remake my deck🤨😖🙁😱 and learn "casual" "tournament" rules. Just got back in,love it,buuut I might go back to chess! It's easier,and EVERYONE knows the rules. Edg is fun,but madness!Like hth can your card do that? "Oh it's from 15 years ago"😳😳😱 Was counting on dungeon moves being perpetual,so it didn't end well for me. It's like going to a sword fight,and ya opponent has a bayonet/musket....it could be a blade but,I didn't prepare for this! I thought and bang you die.

i have a Kenrith, The Returned King "Dungeon-Delving" deck that is SOOO ready for an upgrade with the new Battle for Baldur's Gate release
I have a sethris deck, focus is basically to copy sethris or solar to at some point go infinite

Tbh before the set came out, I had imagined dungeons a lot like planechase. I mean, it is but I thought there would be big cards i guess.
You get all 3 dungeons as big cards in the bundle !

As a dnd player it really bugs me that the end rooms of a wizard dungeon is a mage room. Wizards and mages are not the same

I dislike a lot of the power of the Forgotten realms set but the D&D lore really hooks me
Dungeons do feel like a build around
So Acererak + Rooftop Storm/Infinite black mana + Dungeon of the Mad Mage/Lost Mine of Phandelver goes infinite. Nice.
Garbage land for sure, but the dice exploits in my red green vrondiss decks are keeping me with the dnd trend.
My built a snow deck based on mostly cards from the Kaldhiem, and it's a bastard deck lol I have a feeling, Dungeons are gonna be pretty decent also.
