20:35 Oh my sweet summer Child. Ashen rider ist one of the most broken cards for Sefris. The best thing about Sefris is that in 9/10 cases the mana costs of your creatures are completely irrelevant because you have multiple tools to get them into your graveyard. I play Sefris for about a year now and in most cases the moment i got my fingers on that bad boy i won the game. Normally you can let him hop between battlefield and graveyard about 3-4 times per turn which results in up to 6-8 permanent exiles completely annihahalating your opponents setups and/or win cons. and I never EVER hard casted it once.
Reya Dawnbringer, cavalier of dawn and night, dimir house guard, butcher of malakir, callous bloodmage, incarnation technique, priest of fell rites, oriq loremage, noxious gearhulk, Sepulchral Primordial, triumphant adventurer, venser, shaper savant, viscera seer, Apprentice Necromancer, grave titan, Whisper, Blood Liturgist, Yuan-Ti Malison, master of death, and disciple of bolas would also be good inclusions in this deck
I feel like Murder of Crows was one of the best cards added for the deck’s original intent. The deck is called Dungeons of Death. “Your party walks through the dreary sunless day to the gaping maw of the entrance. Its smell of rot trickles upward into your nostrils. A MURDER OF CROWS occasionally sounds off: ready to eat those of you that can pull your dying bodies out of this death trap of treasure, but succumb shortly after to said effort and wounds. Looking around you see one such unfortunate corpse being pecked for sustenance. The vest has an insignia of a golden swine, but the hands of the cadaver clutch a Traveller’s Amulet and you swear the rotting face is contorted slightly into a smile.” The other bit is you talk big game about discarding creatures, but then say that is’t the direction you are going… card works as such: “When an opponent’s creature dies, pitch a creature to get your Sefris trigger this turn and draw a card.”
Curator of Mysteries is crazy good in the deck. At the very least you can pitch it with cycling for the Sefris trigger, and much of the time you can Scry many times with it if it hits the board.
I went for a "self-recurring creatures" strategy with things like Bloodghast, Skyclave Shade, Reassembling skeleton, etc. Coupled to plenty of sac outlets (Yawgmoth, Thran Physician at top of list)
Dauntless bodyguard, knight of the white orchid, angel of sanctions, corpse knight, zulaport cutthroat, midnight reaper would be good cards in the deck
Joel, thanks for the advice. I am interested in upgrading this card. But, after watching the video, I did feel like I had a question that remained unanswered. I know you don’t have time to get into every detail, but I do want to know one thing, so here it is: Who was it that played Willy Wonka in the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?
Tortured Existence Doom Whisperer Noxious Gearhulk Gravebreaker Lamia Master of death Rune Scarred demon My personal favorite is Mindshrieker to mill myself and probably hit the Enemy for a bunch
Only upgrades for reanimation? I prefer focus on dungeon venture and multiply his triggers. All reanimate decks have the same staples and there is better commanders for that.
I've been playing Sefris for a while and I can say that I have never hard cast Ashen Rider. It is a fantastic card especially if you are running a sac build of this deck where you can reanimate, exile, then sac and exile again. Just too much value if its in your graveyard.
Why on earth would you play Key to the City over Enclave Cryptologist. You need way way way more creatures in this deck. Why are people building her wrong...
do you ever think about how often ya'll tell people go look at your old videos to find information about what your currently talking about. Like what's the point of this video. isn't it information?
For sure - but a lot of the topics we refer to old videos on are in depth dives of complicated topics that take more than ten minutes to fully explore. Can't take the time in every video to re-explain those topics when we've already broken it down pretty in depth

Do y'all have any plans on reassessing Sefris's or Vrondiss's decks since Battle for Baulder's Gate has been released into the wild?
Dire Undercurrents is my new favorite card, slapping that right into my Gyruda commander list. Thanks!!!
I feel like Murder of Crows was one of the best cards added for the deck’s original intent.

I really like this new segment!
Thank you, Jorden!

You missed Tortured Existence. Pretty busted with Sefris on the board and pretty cheap atm
Umm...that's even better than Intuition 🤔😂
Same thougt. The best synergy by far
Cauldron of souls and persist rules! Also Key to the city is a pet card of mine and a fine include Joel!
Dauntless bodyguard, knight of the white orchid, angel of sanctions, corpse knight, zulaport cutthroat, midnight reaper would be good cards in the deck

Gene wilder? What card is a gene wilder?
Tortured Existence
Doom Whisperer
Noxious Gearhulk
Gravebreaker Lamia
Master of death
Rune Scarred demon
My personal favorite is Mindshrieker to mill myself and probably hit the Enemy for a bunch
Solid list 👍
Sweet list bro
Not excited.for this.deck much, but I AM excited.to hear you talk about some cardboard!!
Thanks for the awesome content!
im shocked you didn't talk about tormod, the desecrator
Only upgrades for reanimation? I prefer focus on dungeon venture and multiply his triggers. All reanimate decks have the same staples and there is better commanders for that.
Putting in the Esper Praetors as reanimate targets....reanimation decks let you be greedy, go big!

I didn't know you cod hit there lands with this card he said it in the video is this true 🤔
@@ramiroramirez6832I'm late to reply, but yes, unless it specifies Non-Land permanent, then you can target lands when it just says 'permanent'
but sweet sweet Sefris !
unmarked grave is also not bad for this deck, a budget entomb
It’s infuriating that intuition is legal but gifts I given is banned in commander. I get WHY it’s banned, but it also costs like $1-3
Rule 0 that ish
Radiant Solar + Future Site + Mortuary + Ornithopter…you’re welcome!
Why on earth would you play Key to the City over Enclave Cryptologist.
You need way way way more creatures in this deck. Why are people building her wrong...
Pump
