  • Today I am at this amazing Bus Museum in Keighley.
This video is just based around the buses that are out of bounds from the public viewing , plus I am really interested in showing you the outer shells of these Buses that need TLC.
We also had the added bonus and came across a retired Bus Driver from Keighley.
We had a brief chat with him.
The Bradford Police Museum were present on site and displayed some amazing Police vehicles.
Here is a video we did of The Bradford Police Museum a few weeks ago.

Do come and visit and support the museum. Preserve our history!
    Lots to see and do.
    Here is their webpage www.www.kbmt.org.uk
It houses a superb collection of buses of all ages from 1924 to 2000, many from local bus companies in West Yorkshire and some from further away. Also there are emergency vehicles from the Police and Fire service on view, together with other transport related vehicles many of which are on the button ready to go. There is also a variety of trolleybuses, including WT 7101 the 1924 Keighley Corporation Straker Clough trolleybus which is currently undergoing restoration.
Special thanks to Simon Way and Mick Berry from the organising team and for their help.

The old buses were much more reliable then the new ones of today. Hardly ever broke down

Great video guys. Hope they get more visitors off the back of it. I was waiting for Imtiaz to measure the buses with his little light. 😉 Take care

Regarding your question about the K registration plate (1min 35secs into the video) - these were issued in 1971.

Some of those old bus service numbers just need a number "6" as a prefix and they are good to go in 2021 as the bus routes are virtually unchanged!
Fingers crossed that some of these preserved shells can be restored by enthusiasts.
Another excellent documentation of local history lads 🙂👌

The bus is a Atlantean and the engine as been removed and lives in the back where you was filming . I used to drive one when I worked for Yorkshire rider long time ago

Leyland was a collection of British brands such as rover Austin Morris triumph it was known by British leyland and went bust many moons ago sometime in the 80s if I’m correct rover survived as an independent later being bought by bmw for joint ventures into the 75 and mini bmw then sold rover off to the Chinese and allowed them to keep the 75 designs etc but bmw took the mini for themselves

@@BradfordThroughTheLens my dad and uncle are both hgv drivers and my grandad drove for Wallace Arnold coaches for about 45/50 years. He was obsessed with coaches and busses and had every single one in model form we still have them all between the family my dad having most of them. We have many Keighley and district livery ones and a lot of first Bradford ones also many of the trolley busses all in Bradford livery
