Buses of the UK-Halifax, Yorkshire Variety August 2021

It is early August 2021 and i'm in Halifax. We see bus operations at the Bus Station before finishing in the town centre. First Bus is the dominant operator with Yorkshire Tiger working some routes. Not if they are commercial routes, anyone can run a route. It's only London where all stage carriage services are under contract to TfL. Outside London only socially nessessary routes are tendered by local councils.....

I recently learned a few Optare Solos have made their way to Australian operators. Thankfully I haven't come across any yet! Saw a pic though.
A few of those buses have worn out suspension by the clanging I could hear.
That orange decker near the end with the little snout piqued my interest. Wish I got to hear it going.

I find it amazing that Austrlia would want Optares...... They aren't exactly hard wearing...... Yes, i was hoping the orange decker would move but it appeared to be the spare bus......

Sf55 uae was with first yar_low found out earlier this morning its being sent to the scrapper to make way for the new stock coming in.

Worked at the lbg building and used to take 576 there from Bradford. Back in London now though

It seems quite a busy place bus wise although what the evening service is like i dread to think! Probably very few services running then.....

@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus yes you can be waiting for ages after 8pm. Upto 5pm every 10 mins. 6pm 20-30 mins

My home town now. The bus station being revamped again. Very unreliable bus service from my village, and you can only go to Halifax on it. It's so rare you didn't capture it 😂. If you walk a mile out of the village you can get a bus to Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, Burnley and Rochdale

A very busy place though. I did visit here back in 2010 and went to Luddenden Foot. It's taken me 11 years to come back with a camera.....
