The Low Moor Explosion was a fire and a series of explosions at a munitions factory in Low Moor, Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire in August 1916. The factory was manufacturing picric acid to be used as an explosive for the First World War effort and was well alight when the Bradford Fire Brigade arrived. Love the videos you guys do, and the respect you show people and our City’s history - the clearing of the grave in this episode really helps restore faith in humanity! If only everyone in Bradford, especially minority communities had the same passion for the history of our wonderful City as you two do, what a City we would have! Top work fellas!

It's really important that these stories are told and kept fresh. Such a respectful video, and a really kind gesture to tend to his grave. Wonderful video. There could well be descendants who still live in the Bradford area that do not know this story. I wonder if the local brick was left by a relative years ago.....

My Gt Grandfather George Scatchard was a police man in Wyke at the time of the explosion.. He lived in Wyke Lane and run down to help at the explosion and was awarded a medal for his bravery of rescuing people. My Gt Grandfather is registered on the 1901 census as living in Wyke. Occupation police constable.. He would most likely have known PC. Harry Reverly
