    I'm looking into doing this to get my wife and I out of debt. Thank you for these invaluable videos! I truly appreciate them.

    Great job! We are adding to our cabin with 2 reclaimed bins. Can’t wait to see what you use for interior walls. Good luck

      I am planning to use 1x6 or 1x8 primed MDF boards ran horizontally as nickel gap shiplap for the curved walls of the grain bin... Drywall for interior framed walls and flat ceilings...

      I should add... Im using MDF as it is capable of conforming to the curve of the wall horizontally..

    Here we are 3 years later - how is the window & door trim holding up to the elements? My concern is the trim above the doors & windows…even though you’ve put a slope on it, it’s still a wood product & some rain water will sit on it until it evaporates. Would a metal drip cap on top of it be recommended?

    Are you planning to do more on the grain bin build? I'm doing the same and have learned from you. Would be nice to see more of the build.

      Yes I will have more videos out soon. We have completed the mechanical roughins, insulation and drywall, and exterior painting and caulking.... And are currently going to start on ceiling framing and finish, and interior shiplap to curved walls and all trim work.

      @@blueroomoutdoormedia5630 Fantastic. I know you are in central Indiana. I too am there. Would like to see it in person sometime, but I'm sure you get that request often. Good luck and I'm looking forward to other videos.

    Looks awesome but seems like having to deal with round walls and corrugated exterior would be too difficult

    Hi! I just found your silo videos and I love them. We have a large silo on our farm that we’d like to turn into a living space. I’m curious how you sealed the outside and the roof of the silo as to make it waterproof. Thank you!

    • @blueroomoutdoormedia5630
      @blueroomoutdoormedia5630  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @martyandjennabates4615 made sure the bin was water tight on roof and side walls before framing. Any areas that needed sealed up were completed before framing. Secured all hatches and caulked them shut, made sure all bolt holes were filled and sealed, etc. And let it rain a few times... checking if there were any leaks. Biggest obstacle was just sealing where the bin meets the foundation. Sani tred grain bin sealant is best option for this.

      Thank you for suggestions. Is it too loud so not able to hear the talking or description?

    So I’m 14 from Iowa and me and my friend are converting a beat up grain bin into a hang-out spot. We just started by stripping the old metal panels and cinder blocks to get to the bottom concrete but it’s really banged up. We don’t know what to do for that, do we just reconcrete? Make a separate layer of granite or plywood?

      You could either pour self leveling concrete filler over floor to smooth it out... Or frame a wood floor over it.

    How did you cut the trim for the windows when you cut for the corrugated cuts

    • @blueroomoutdoormedia5630
      @blueroomoutdoormedia5630  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @willstuder4854 traced the corrugated pattern to trim board and then cut it out and made sure it fit to metal... any light shaving.. until it fit right. Then held it to window and traced to cut to size to fit.

    I’m so disappointed that you didn’t show the finished product. Is there another video?

      The finished product of the siding and trim, or of the completed build?

      @@blueroomoutdoormedia5630 i think what they're wanting is close ups of certain details. Kind of like how you did ever do kindly with the door framing.

    what did you use on your interior walls ? It says shiplap when you are painting it but exactly what is it that's bendable?

    • @blueroomoutdoormedia5630
      @blueroomoutdoormedia5630  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used LP Smartside siding for the "shiplap". It is 8 inch smooth siding. It has a microbevel to edges so when i butt them on top of each other it makes the gap that looks like shiplap. The siding is 3/8 inch thick and bent easily to the curve og the wall.

      Also. I have an episode on the shiplap walls if you check out the Grain Bin playlist on my channel.
