    It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

    I've worked on framing over 200 houses in my day. I've sometimes worked with a small crew. Like just me and my wife. You've made our best day look like we were playing with tinker toys. It seems impossible some of the things you did by yourself. I know how heavy some of those things are. Wow! Wow! Wow!

    awesome dude!
    I'm a crane operator, I have never set bundles of trusses like that and left. Even the hard working Amish crews have me swing them in one at a time, sometimes 2.
    You da man!

    • @thomasbailey5732
      @thomasbailey5732 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      He is pretty badass and stacking was probably his only option considering he would have to crawl up and down a ladder every truss he sets. Where I live cranes have a four hour minimum so we send them up in 3s and place as we go. Might as well with a 4 hour minimum, but if it was no minimum most carpenters would stack them like this and get the crane out.

    • @jordanbergmann4067
      @jordanbergmann4067 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We swing em 4 at a time if not bunk the whole roof on the plates then spread by hand.

      MAGA merica that house probably pays $6.50 sqft for base rate plus extras and he probably framed it in 3-4 weeks for $13-15k. You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about because no builder would allow him to take that long to build a house. This guy is legit and one fuck of a hard worker. The telehandler was still parked in the driveway of the house next to him when he finished the roof and those guys were still there doing back framing. Gtfoh

    • @Thecrazyframer
      @Thecrazyframer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Hey it's my biggest hater. I was wondering where your comments were. Actually the builder hires me because I frame a perfect house which makes the rest of the trades go through way faster. And I'm just as fast as any crew you can see that in the videos.

  • @brickmatr1x308
    @brickmatr1x308 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Yeh I have to admit this is pretty epic... I too am a framing carpenter.... and I always hear people comparing the two types of carpenters... trim and framing... and each has their level of expertise... but farmers are by far much hardier folk... they have to have way more stamina and lift capacity... and be 100 percent more durable to work at heights and in any weather... while those trim boys enjoy their cozy little environments... framers are definitely a breed of their own

      My boss told me this is how it is in america, you guys literally have different carpenters for different aspects of building? We do it all here in australia, if you are a qualified carpenter you are expected to be able to build a house from an empty slab to lock up.

    • @brickmatr1x308
      @brickmatr1x308 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      f budd not always... some crews do it all... even shingle and side... but a majority that I’ve worked with and associated with in the Midwest do just framing.... or trim... not many do it all where I’m from

    • @brickmatr1x308
      @brickmatr1x308 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it’s because you can make more just framing here but not too sure otherwise... in a way it’s why in American we have car mechanics who just do painting and body work and some that just do engine repair... some just like a certain aspect of their profession

    Wow that was an impressive work ethic to build that entire house by yourself! It took me and a friend almost 2 weeks to build my 24x30 garage and I used my crane to stand up the walls. If i had a project to get done I would definitely want to hire you to do the job, I sure hope the home builder is paying you decent money by the contract for that kind of work. Good old Alberta where if you hire someone they are only there for the paycheque and will never be able to keep up with you or do the job with quality like you can do. Try not to wear out your body too fast, you will really feel it when you get a bit older.
